No-no, there is no an old 0x0004 or new 0x0004 device, I guess that we
have to handle general case for all 0d9f:0x0004 devices.

persistent "low battery" condition
Hello Nutters,
I'm running nut 2.7.2 on FreeBSD 10-stable (via the FreeBSD port) with
an APC Back-UPS CS 350 connected via USB. I get persistent (every few
minutes) messages logged "battery is low" but I don't understand why. I
don't think it's for the reason described in the FAQ (but I'm not 100%
sure).
In the trace output I can see that

newhidups output for Geek Squad GS1285U
This took a long time because I had problems with my system. After I
reloaded my operating system several times I found I had a bad memory
module.
Here is the output from newhidups for my Geek Squad GS1285U. It just
kept repeating until I hit ctl-z. I think that this means nut will work
for this ups. My computer is not powered by the ups yet. I did not want
it to be powered down by accident.

New UPS Support: Eaton 5S 1000
Oops... changing that to --with-user=nut solved one problem. I have the
driver, upsd and upsmon running now. Thank you!
Now I'm back to another issue, every 2 seconds I get in the logs:
May 3 13:45:23 myhost upsd[2587]: Connected to UPS [eaton]:
usbhid-ups-eaton
It seems happy to do this forever.

POWERCOM HID USB controller update
Dear Charles and Artem,
I've recently bought a new PowerCom Imperial IMD825-AP LCD which
identifies itself as 0x0d9f:0x0004.
At first glance it seems that usbhid-ups driver works fine. But when I
tried to shutdown UPS via DelayBeforeShutdown it started double beeping
every couple seconds for indefinite time (the same problem described by

Small patch to scale the values for TRIPP-LITE SMART*LCDT's
Hi,
I just decided to fix some scaling issues for my UPS (TRIPP-LITE
SMART1500LCDT). Apparently that issue existed for some time (and I knew
about it as well:-()
See http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.monitoring.nut.devel/6482 for a
thread.
My little patch is attached (against 2.7.3). It seems to be working
better for me but I don't have any other TRIPP-LITE's to test that I did

PowerCOM BNT-1000AP HID instant commands patch
Hello,
Got PowerCOM BNT-1000AP, usb id 0d9f:00a6, firmware FW4.A6
nut 2.4.3 on debian stable shows only two instant commands:
beeper.toggle - Toggle the UPS beeper -- not working
test.battery.start.quick - Start a quick battery test -- works ok.
No load and shutdown commands.
Trying svn trunk version, with the same results.
Debug output shows the problem:

newhidups with APC Smart-UPS 1500
Hello,
I'm using the stable amd64 port of Debian Linux. I installed (the
latest) nut-2.0.1-4 and nut-usb packages for utilizing an APC Smart-UPS
1500 USB. I tried "apcupsd" first but "nut" makes an even more
sophisticated impression on me and has more security options.
I had problems with the newhidups driver. It didn't find a device with
matching VendorID. And

Newhidups gets unbound after a while
Hi everybody,
If we let the feature running, it appears that the driver gets unbound
after a while ( variable from quarter of hour to 6 hours ) and cannot
reconnect.
This behavior appear with both MGE Ellipse ASR and non-ASR models with
connection to an UHCI and OHCI controllers.
The USB core is from 2.4.28 kernel.
We use nut-2.0.3.

Trouble Configuring NUT with Gamatronic USB

I am running FC5 with nut coming from the fc5 extras repositories. I
am trying to configure a Gamatronic D-Compact ups. The cable that came
with the ups has a serial connector on one end and a usb on the other.

newhidups with APC Smart-UPS 1500
I tested your fix (newhidups -DDD /dev/null) using both and APC Back-UPS
350 an APC Smart-UPS RT 2000 XL.
No more segmentation fault due to the fixed-size array.

newhidups capture - Atlantis-Land HID UPS
Hello Charles!
As promised, I just checked out the CVS and recompiled everything. In
the attached .txt is what is coming out from my UPS. I am wondering
about all those zeroes.
Also, this morning I plan to connect the UPS to a Win box running the
monitoring program supplied with the UPS (UPSilon2000) and a USB sniffer
program. If you have any suggestions on what to look for in the data,
