Tripplite_usb
He everyone,
I have a Tripplite SMART700DVa using the tripplite_usb from NUT 2.5 (rev
2217) driver running in Solaris 10x86. My driver hangs when trying to
connect. Once the driver sends the watchdog command ("W\0"), it can no
longer receive any signals and eventually exits. The UPS responds to
other watchdog commands ("W5" for example), but there doesn't seem to be

SAMBA and SMB Signing
Hello,
We're working on setting up a SAMBA server, but it is not working.
There is a standard configuration for our Windows Vista machines. With
the previous configuration of Windows Vista ("Alice") it connects to the
SAMBA fine. However, the latest Windows Vista configuration ("Bob")
will contact the SAMBA server, send the required password then just stop
communicating.

Tripplite USB 3003 problems
I have been having a few issues recently. I'm running Nut 2.4.3 on
Solaris 10 (10/09) using a TrippLite SMART700DVa UPS. Everything seems
to be working fine except for some random issues. During a power cycle
(UPS online to offline to online) NUT will occasionally get disconnected
from the UPS. A call to it using upsc results in "Error: Data stale".
And running dmesg has the

Need Help Getting Windows XP To Use Samba Properly
Hi everyone, new to the list.
My apologies if this issue has already been covered, but I am having the
following problem with Samba:
Using Windows XP as a client, I am trying to see a Solaris system as a
server. Solaris is running Samba 2.4.2, and Windows 2000 sees it as a
server without any problems.
Windows XP, however, generates the error "The network name is no longer

Driver fix for Ippon BCP800 (06da/0003), blazer_usb.c
Hi,
Thanks to some older discussions on this list I found it quite easy to
eventually track down problem with using USB cable with some more of
Megatec/Q1 UPSes. The trick (which is done in megatec_usb, but not in
blazer_usb) is to read in the junk that somehow gets into read buffers
before sending any commands. (I inserted debug statements so it's easy
to see that the data read is really

Mustek Powermust 600VA
Hi,
I'm having a hard time configuring a Mustek Powermust 600VA ups to
work via USB with nut. I read somewhere that nut works OK via the
rs232 cable, but unfortunately I don't have a COM port in my computer.
The kernel detects the ups as an Xbox pad :) and loads the xpad
module. I tried running /lib/nut/megatec with different /dev/ttySx but
it displays megatec protocol UPS was not

sent two 0 byte packets to the driver, then it sent

seems to come back up as well, and then the UPS turned off.
I'll play around later with what happens in that regard, although it
may be a bit tricky to figure out when the battery is low without
having it plugged in ;-)

Sweex 1000VA UPS (Lakeview Research)
Hi all,
i've read a thread about this UPS from Peter van Valderen. He tried to
develop a
driver for this specific type of UPS. I've downloaded nut-2.2.2 and tried to
apply
the patches (lakeview.patch & lakeview.v2.patch) but both resulted in
rejected
chunks. I've tried to ./configure with type lakeview and then a make, but
the make
command fails.
Does anybody has any

[nut-commits] svn commit r1073 - in trunk: . drivers
I think having this logic buried within libhid/libusb
(libusb:libusb_open(), line 179 to 206) is ultimately a mistake,
albeit one that I am probably responsible for. Would it make sense to
confine libhid to low-level operations, and leave the decision of
trying to reopen vs. retrying to open to the high-level driver, in
this case usbhid-ups?
I envision that the code in usbhid-ups:reconnect_ups()

Need Help Getting Windows XP To Use Samba Properly[Closed]
Unfortunately we're not able to install more software of radically change any configurations. We also do not use LDAP (just a workgroup, hosts file, static IPs and Samba). But those are good ideas, I'll keep them in mind just in case. Major thanks.
:-)

Hi Jon,
your patches are malformed because (presumably) your email client
wrapped this lines. Could you please send these as a unified diff
("diff -u"), and send them in attachments, rather than as a
copy-and-paste?
Thanks, -- Peter

FW: Need Help Getting Windows XP To Use Samba Properly
Takahashi, thanks for your response.
No antivirus software is installed, firewall disabled completely.
I might have to go the sniffer route. But this is XP and Samba, both old products. I can't imagine that I'd be the first one to have such a ridiculous problem trying to get XP to be able to browse a Samba box. This is fresh WinXP right out of the box (with SP3) having this problem,

[LLVMdev] pb05 benchmarks for llvm/dragonegg 3.2
Duncan,
With the commit from http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20121203/158488.html,
the Polyhedron 2005 benchmarks complete again on x86_64-apple-darwin12. The result are similar to what
were seen with FSF gcc 4.6.2svn and llvm/dragonegg 3.0 (which was the last release that passed pb05)
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2011-October/044091.html.

MGE Nova AVR 600 USB on FreeBSD
Hi,
I've seen a few emails in the archives about problems polling MGE UPSs
via USB under FreeBSD, but unfortunately I didn't find a solution in
them that works for me.
A few details about my setup.. The UPS is a MGE Nova AVR 600 connected
via USB to a FreeBSD 6.2 box. I have tried both the nut port (2.0.5)
and the svn trunk but have had no success yet. I am running nut as

usbhid-ups on OmniOS (Solaris 10 derivate)
Hi Matej,
I've cc'ed the developers mailing list for now...
thanks for your report. Could you please send in some driver debug traces
(starting it manually, using "usbhid-ups -DDDDD ...")?
That would help in troubleshooting the issue.
thx and cheers,
Arno
