I do remember is wasn’t simple.. ( actually is was long drawn out pain in the …. )
Maybe search for posts from me, I’ll check what I did on the weekend and get back to you..
Or, buy an APC.. as they will just appear in Energy Saver..

Apple iMac OS X 10.13.5 | Powershield Defender 1200 UPS
Hi All,
I am trying to install and configure NUT [ 2.7.4 ] to shutdown my iMac [
10.13.5 ] via my Powershield Defender 1200 UPS when the UPS reaches a
specified lower battery condition.
The Defender 1200 attaches to the iMac via USB.
The Defender appears on the the HCL - The required driver is 'blazer_usb'
The UPS is visible on the USB bus as:

BBEdit Ruby & Rails Syntax Module available
I''ve made a Ruby & Rails syntax coloring module for BBEdit. This is a
"Codeless Language Module", so it will only work with BBEdit 8+. It''s
basically a giant list of Ruby and Rails keywords, method names, and
so on. It''s both Ruby and Rails because BBedit only lets you
associate a file type with one language module.
The file is available here:

A tun/tap driver for an i386 OS X
Hello everyone!
I have a PowerMac running 10.6.8 and I'd love to get it connected to my
VPN. However, even by compiling tuntaposx by hand on the said MacPro, I
see that the kernel module is apparently built for x86_64 systems:
macintosh MacOS ?? pwd
/Library/Extensions/tun.kext/Contents/MacOS
macintosh MacOS ?? file tun
tun: Mach-O 64-bit kext bundle x86_64
Because YES! The system is

Troubleshooting on OS X
> kextload /Library/Extensions/tun.kext/
I didn't have a /Library/Extensions/tun.kext/ on my machine. I googled
around, and downloaded and installed from http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/.
Not sure why the macports install didn't work, but it seems I'm making
progress.
Now I get this:

Call for testing: removal of usb_set_altinterface() call
If you have a USB UPS, and can rebuild NUT from source (tarball or Git), please read on.
I was trying to fix a problem specific to OS X and Tripp Lite UPSes, but it turns out that the redundant call to usb_set_altinterface(0) is right in the middle of the common NUT USB driver code, affecting pretty much any USB UPS that we support. So I would like to get a little additional testing before

Need help with Tripp Lite SMART1300LCDT NUT v2.7.3
So when the UPS is communicating with the driver... it seems to work.? Problem is now that it keeps disconnecting.? Any recommendation on how to keep the drivers from disconnecting using the usb_set_altinterface?? (PS.? Is there a specific value to use?)? Or this confirms there is an issue with the usbhid-ups driver with the FreeBSD 10.2 kernel?

So it turns out that the RM15002U also does not report anything useful for s_value[5]:

the last person probably wasn't able to give the ./configure probably because most people uses the precompiled iso to install NAS4Free.? if you need the ./configure I might have to look for their source on GitHub or something.

Troubleshooting on OS X
Thanks very much! It's alive! For others who are having problems, this is
a summary of the differences I needed between Linux and OS X:
You'll need to install http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/ manually.
On tinc.conf:

Name = ntwigg2014linux
AddressFamily = ipv4
Interface = dpsfVPN
ConnectTo = dpserver001

Same, but remove the Interface line entirely

Installing a .ko file?
Hi All,
I am trying to add a 3Ware 9500S-8 RAID controller to a CentOS 5.4 box.
I have the drivers from 3Ware and they seem to be a .ko file (which I presume is like a .kext on OSX)
How do I install these? Searched turn up people talking about Kernel panics with .ko's but I dont see anything that points to to installing one so I can use the card.
Best,

OSX and USB issue
Hi list,
I?ve spend a LOT of time reading and trying many versions, from Fink to Brew and also compiling source.
OSX 10.11.3
NUT: v2.7.4
Driver: nutdrv_atcl_usb
I have the same problem that has been reported, that Mac OSX grabs the USB device so NUT can?t use it.

What is kext64, and how do I disable it? (I suppose I don't need it on a
32-bit platform?)

Richcomm Serial driver
Hi,
I'm trying to configure my ups with nut which is a locally made one. It
uses a rs232 port to talk to the computer and comes with a software called
"Powermanager Lite" which is provided by Richcomm and supports Windows,
Linux and UNIX. According to the manual it uses the Richcomm circuitry to
talk to the computer and uses a drycontact protocol. Unfortunately I
couldn't
