Shipping development files for mingw32
Hi, Is is possible to ship development files for MinGW32 like static libs and headers? I am particularly interested in libvorbisfile required to build Wesnoth on Windows. SDL2 provides a convenient distribution that I unpack and it works: https://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_mixer/release/SDL2_mixer-devel-2.0.1-mingw.tar.gz https://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_mixer/ But I can't find where I

Recommendations for consumer-grafe GPSes?
2. Recommendations? My use case is pretty typical. I have one Linux machine I want to protect, automated shutown is desirable, blackouts longer than a hour are very rare at my location (the last one I can remember was in 1993), brownouts are very rare and mild, but summer thunderstorms are common and can be severe. I'm a good match for your typical consmer-grade UPS. 2a. In 2009, what do

Right now, we are not including the generated HTML properly, because I haven't figured out the automake way to do this correctly. Specifically, we want to treat the .txt files as source, and distribute the

WINXP Messenger SIP Client (Good News, Bad News)
I found this information on how to make XP have a dialpad in Windows Messenger which was awesome news HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MessengerService\CorpPC2PHone (change it from 0 to 1 and a magic new choice to make phone calls appears) only to be crushed hours later when I realized It doesnt seem to do dtmf right. If i make an ext lead to AgentLogin for instance and press my

Good news on the crashing problem
Tonight, I started to look into why wxruby2 crashes so much. I found that the minimal, image, and calendar samples can run and exit without crashing. But several other samples, such as caret, would crash upon exit. A quick gdb stacktrace showed that ruby was attempting to free an object that wx had already deleted. We have protection against that (added post-swig by fixdeleting.rb), but it

PCI DSS 2.0 Good News
Hi Everyone, I may be a bit late to the game announcing this here, but I''ve found out some good news for PCI DSS compliance and virtualisation. We are now allowed to use virtualisation in a PCI DSS environment, as long as we don''t give each VM (DomU) more than one primary function. A good extreme example: We could have a single physical box with 2 NICs which could be the

OpenSSH 1.2.1 pre26, solaris 8ea and IPv6 - good news
I don't know if anyone else has tested it yet, but the IPv6 integration into OpenSSH seems to work just fine on my Solaris 8 box, as much as I can I've tested it and it's behaving nicely. Carl

good news for solaris8 &3.4p1
Thanks go to Darren Tucker who posted about "#if 0" on auth-pam.c I saw his email in the archive, about solaris 7. I removed the "#if 0", and finally, password expiration works. A caviat or two: If UseLogin=no (the default) , if a user fails to use the correct password for a "change on first login" account, you get the following message: sshd(SYSTEM): Sorry,

[F.E.A.R.3]Good and Bad News
Hi everybody, I installed the game with steam with the latest wine version (1.3.25) and there there is better result than wine 1.3.22/1.3.23. The installation with Steam works correctly and without problem. Now, it's possible to launch the game correctly without a crack no-cd, and the multiplayer works correctly too. The only thing to result is the problem for the black texture/screen (see

Good news regarding Wine and patent threats
There's a groklaw article summarizing recent discussion about the impact of the Bilski case on software patents: http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20081102011538422 "The judge says this kind of cloning could be done without infringing Microsoft's copyrights, but how about its patents? Prior to Bilski, one might give one answer. Now, one might give another." If we

Any chance someone put 'mesg n' in the system profiles? That wou;d suppress wall output. Good news booting with isolinux
Today I finnally got the motivation to build a bootable cd, I encountered a few ones before, I know they're all using isolinux, but they always use initrd and the root filesystem is stored in a disk image file. I wondered if it's really neccessary to do that, according to the mkisofs manpage all the essential features like uid, gid, permission, symbolic/hard links are supported using the
