Problem with APC and Fedora 8 I86_64
I have been trying to get Nut working on a system with Fedora 8 i86_64 installed and an APC Smart-UPS USB. The 2.2.0 rpm does not seem to like the USB on this UPS. I have tried compiling the 2.2.2 version, from source, but am getting warnings. I have tried building it on my i386 system (f8 as well) and I get no warnings also the 2.2.0 works fine on that one with a TrippLite Omni 900 LCD via

Centralion Blazer 2000VA USB-HID
Hi again, I've succeeded in compiling the svn trunk with the automake tools and wish to say thank you to Charles Lepple for his help. After fixing some parameters in the hotplug script I can now get access to the UPS on /dev/usb/hiddev0 (I added productid and vendorid of my ups to the usermap). I've decided to try the newhidups driver with -x generic parameter and got this response :

Common Power Management : NUT and HAL (stage 1)
Hi fellows, I'm really pleased to announce that a first stage of NUT and HAL [1] integration has been reached: NUT drivers (in fact, only newhidups, tripplite_usb and bcmxcp_usb for the moment) can feed HAL data. It's a "quick and dirty" hack, as a proof of concept, and there is still lots of things to be done, both on NUT and HAL sides. But it's a good base, and very

Compiling SVN build.. error for libupsclient
Hi, Below is a log of what I did. In summary, I think the problem lies in that I can't build libupsclient: e.g. make[1]: *** No rule to make target `libupsclient.la', needed by `upsc'. Stop. I'm not very familiar with autoconf, aclocal, automake, I tried hacking it a bit, but couldn't get it to fix the errors... Thanks, Edwin $ svn update At revision 845. $ autoreconf

How is this possible?
As an experiment, I am attempting to build a more recent version of GNOME than 2.16.0 on CentOS 5.1. I've tried both garnome and jhbuild, and neither one works quite right. Jhbuild blows out looking for a dbus-glib-1 revision >= 0/74 (the release rev is 0.70), so I downloaded that and tried to build it. This results in the following error: gcc -g -O2 -Wall -Wchar-subscripts

[PATCH matahari] Replaces the existing HAL code for ProcessorAgent with udev.
Stripped out the HAL support code and replaced with calls to udev. The remainder of the code to extract CPU details parses through the /proc/cpuinfo file since udev/sysfs will not return such information. Signed-off-by: Darryl L. Compiling wine in Ubuntu Oneiric
Hello, I'm having trouble compiling wine 1.3.31 under the latest Ubuntu, 64 bit multiarch, etc. What basically happens is that the compile and make steps go just fine, but any sound that the newly built wine makes, doesn't use PulseAudio, it takes over the sound device. The only thing I've got to go on is a warning when doing ./configure that tells me that I'm missing the 32 bit

Build error
Hi, I was fooling around with the bcmxcp driver and enabling the alarm functions. I hade tested this on some of the ups'es so I was planning to submit it to the svn trunk. But, as the bcmxcp is shared code for serial and usb I got a problem. When enabling --with-hal it halt on the build of hald-addon-bcmxcp_usb. -------------------------------------------------------------- gcc

Recommended Packages document
Fresh install of Debian Etch. Before I install wine (from winehq), I'd like to double check something about the following document. I've only included the portion refering to Debian. http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages The document was last edited 2007-10-07 15:26:02. My question is about the last comment about freeglut3-dev. Still required or not, would there be any problems if I

We're seeing a number of Xorg crashes with CentOS 6.2 when using a Wacom tablet shared between two machines (the other machine is running Windows) via a KVM Xorg crashes after switching the KVM back to the CentOS box I've tried googling for this issue - and have found: https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/solutions/148183 Which has a similar backtrace (although not identical) to ones
