Re: [nut-Patches][303751] Checking UPS Temperature
One disadvantage of handling it through a script is that is will not
be done by default. Most users probably don't know about the problem
of burning batteries, as it is not very common.
A potential problem with Eric Wilde's patch is that it is not general
enough; some UPS models have an boolean OVERHEAT flag although they
don't report the actual temperature. So the UPSOVERTEMP

MusicOnHold Loudness/Distortion
For whatever reason, the music on hold is extremely distorted and
loud. It didn't used to be this way and I haven't changed anything,
yet it persists. This is on all the channels we use (SIP, IAX2, Zap,
ALSA). Can anyone help with this, or has anyone seen this? The mp3s
play fine on any computer and haven't changed since they did work.

Remote Monitoring From Web
Seems like remote monitoring of UPS from the Web UI is really porked.
Used to use ACL and ACCEPT in upsd.conf. Since upgrading to Ubuntu 9.04
and the NUT that comes with it, all I get is whining about how ACL and
ACCEPT are no longer supported and I should use LISTEN.
When I use LISTEN, I see an error message about upsd not listening on
port 3493. For example:
LISTEN 192.168.1.1 3493

SNMP And SuSE
Attempting to install the SNMP driver on Enterprise SuSE 10.0. The
version of NUT is 2.6.0.
To begin with, I installed the net-snmp and net-snmp-devel packages,
using YAST. If I do this command:
net-snmp-config --version --base-cflags --libs
The result is:
5.3.0.1
-DINET6 -O2 -fmessage-length=0 -Wall -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -g \
-fno-strict-aliasing -fstack-protector-all -Dlinux \

one-to-one NAT on RFC1918 addresses
In my peculiar setup I need my shorewall router to do
one-to-one NAT with RFC1918 addresses.
The "external" addresses are 10.215.0.0 and the
internal addresses are 192.168.0.0.
I can ping, vnc, http, smb from 10.215.144.48 to
10.215.145.237 which is 192.168.44.237 internally.
>From 192.168.44.237 I can do http, rdp, ping to
10.215.0.0 hosts.
So all seems fine except for the fact

New IAXy from Digium
I was just browsing Digium's web site and noticed they are
taking orders for the new IAXy. Has anyone purchased and
tested one of these yet?? I have thought about buying one
for testing, but want to make sure it isn't going to be a
flop like the last one.

Changing caller ID on a Zap channel
I have asterisk with two zap channels which are analog ports off a T1. They
each have a inward DID number If they are used for outgoing they show the T1
main number not the DID's number. Is there any way to send caller ID of the
inward DID number not the main number

Console ALSA Sound
Hi
... probably one of those RTFM kind of questions (while I'd be happy to know
where a good reference "FM" is :-) )
Has anyone an idea on how to disable the console sound driver. My problem is
that a running asterisk is muting my speakers.
Thank you in advance for your help

SIP Calls Don't Properly Connect (Continue Ringing) After CVS Update
Hi,
I just updated my image from CVS, compiled and reinstalled it. Now
whenever I make calls from my Grandstream phone to my X-Lite soft-phone,
the call does not complete correctly.
Scenario:
1. I take the GS off hook and dial 1100 (the extension of the
x-lite phone).
2. The x-lite phone rings properly.
3. The user at the x-lite site answers the call.
4. The GS phone continues to

Setting Caller ID after Dial
Hello,
I have the following situation:
I have a PRI with 200 DID numbers and I have set up
200 sip extensions that matches the last 4 digit of
the corresponding DID numbers so that when any of the
200 DID number is called, asterisk can pass the call
to the respective sip extension. Incomming has been
fine.
But when making out going calls I want the called
party to always see the same number

FARFON lives!
Some of you have been following our progress on
http://farfon.convergence.com.pk as we blundered our way through the
development of a low-cost ethernet IP phone that does IAX and augments the
client options currently available for the kick-assterisk server.
With help from the denizens of #asterisk and kind words of advice from Mr.
Spencer and the rest of the gang ... we're proud to have

Object problems with Generic and rematchDefinition
Hello all,
Let me try this again with some code.
I am trying to make a new object and it's not working. I get :
Error in rematchDefinition(definition, fdef, mnames, fnames, signature) :
methods can add arguments to the generic only if '...' is an
argument to the generic
as my error. I have included my code. It is from the xcms package.

splint / lint-like syntax checker for R
Greetings -
Does CRAN or someone similar make a splint / lint-like syntax checker
for R? I realize that both ESS and the debug package and similar tools
have debugging and error analysis features, but those appear to require
running the code through the R buffer. I'd like something that did basic
syntax and object-name verification for code that was to run in batch,
as a precursor to

Adding DWARF5 accelerator table support to llvm
Hello all,
In <https://reviews.llvm.org/D41986#977215> it was brought up that
there are at least two parties interested in having DWARF5 accelerator
tables implemented, so I'm writing this email to see if there's anyone
else interested in this topic, and to try to synchronize our efforts.
Our interest for this stems from a desire to make dwarf parsing fast
on non-apple targets
