RFC: allow HID subdriver's to register ups.conf settings
Hi I'd like to know what you guys think to the following idea. Please be aware, C/C++ are not exactly my strongpoint (couldn't be much further from it actually..!), so I'm not sure whether this is all legal code. -- SYNOPSIS: Allow a newhidups subdriver to register that it can handle settings in ups.conf (and via -x on the command line), as per the normal serial drivers.

usbhid-ups battery voltage [was Re: Important regression in usbhid-ups (r1113)]
I would also like to try and track down a possible off-by-10 bug in usbhid-ups (battery voltage on an MGE Pulsar Evolution, seen in the trunk in the last few weeks). If you are testing the shutdown stuff, it might be good to double-check the values you are seeing for voltages. I hadn't raised the issue on the list because I haven't had time to do the testing, but it's something to be

No run cmd /usbhid-ups -k !
Hi all. UPS is Eaton 5SC 500i. I tested three solutions: 1. swap "usbhid-ups -a qnapups" with "usbhid-ups -a qnapups -k" Result: server shutdown, but ups does not shut off! 2. run prog with params "upsmon -c fsd" Result: server shutdown, but ups does not shut off! 3. run prog "upscmd -u name -p passwd qnapups shutdown.return" and next

Delayed UPS start up after shutdown?
Hello, Ren?. > You can change the parameter > ups.delay.start into your UPS to set the "Interval to wait before > (re)starting the load (seconds)" > > use upsset to change the value. So far, the ups.delay.start parameter in my MGE Protection Center 675 has always been equal to the driver.parameter.ondelay parameter (which equals the ondelay argument in ups.conf).

Anyway, it is a strange thing that I can set the waiting time for power to be restored if main power comes back before offdelay has elapsed, but the UPS ignores this setting if main power comes back after

Will MGE-UPS Ellipse USBS auto shutdown?
I have an Ellipse USBS connected via serial cable to a CentOS 3 box. Do I need to turn off the UPS as the final stage of shutdown, or will the UPS power itself off, before the battery reaches a level to low to safely recharge from? I notice there is the option for the UPS to turn itself off (and on again) unattended if power is restored during shutdown, but there doesn't seem to be an option

Setting offdelay and ondelay in Smart-UPS 1500 RM units
Hello there. Have been experimenting with an APC Smart-UPS 1500 RM and would like to share the results of my research. I hope this could be of help to people having this kind of units. I would also like to give something back to the NUT community. :) Here are the details of the unit in question (a 1500 VA rack mountable one): Model: Smart-UPS 1500 RM Firmware revision: 617.3.I USB firmware

after power outage and proper shutdown, UPS turns on before power returns
Hi, I'm struggling with a peculiar issue with my UPS. After a power outage, the devices powered by it properly shut down via nut. Eventually, the UPS also goes down. Power is still out, however, roughly 40 seconds after the UPS shut down, it turns back on and it starts supplying power to the load, thus turning back on the devices attached to it. This is obviously not something I want. In

MGE Pulsar Extreme - restart problem
Hello, looking for replacements for some older Powerware equipment I found the MGE Pulsar Extreme 1000C and I'm currently testing one with nut-2.0.3 on a self-brewn i386-linux. Upto now everything seems to work fine - except I can't get the power outlets switching on again after mains returns. As this works with Personal Solution-Pac 2 on W2k I thought that there might be a way to

NUT configuration with APC CS650 and ESXi host
Hello, I have decided to upgrade my home server by turning it into an ESXi host and have also added an APC CS650 UPS. My plan was to have NUT version 2.6.4 running in a Debian 7.7.0 virtual machine, NUT installed using apt. I configured NUT to run as a netserver, installed the ESXi nut .vib, configured the shutdowncmd in the VM to do nothing, so that the ESXi host would close that virtual machine
