Converting megatec_usb.c -> serial_usb.c
Folks,
I think the present megatec_usb.c deserves to be renamed to
serial_usb.c. I think it potentially could serve many more UPS'es with
built-in USB-to-serial converters, not limited to the megatec_usb driver
(although that was the first one to use this). I also think a more
layered approach would be nice, in the same fashion as the usbhid-ups
driver with subdrivers. Which would mean that

powercom-usb drriver complie?
Hi, Arjen;
I am new to linux and not sure how to create the PowerCom-usb driver. So
could you please compile powercom-usb file for me. I am happy to test it
out with the USB PowerCom Ups.
Thanks,
Paul

Again me :)
Dears,
I finally resolve my problem, I just make symbolic link:
[test at box var/run/]# ln -s -T /var/state/ups/ nut
Now I finally got services online:
# /sbin/service ups start
Starting UPS driver controller: [ OK ]
Starting upsd: [ OK ]
Starting UPS monitor (master): [ OK ]
BUT, on upsc I

i'm confused
Hi all,
New to NUT dev, i was hoping someone can clear up an issue i have with
the unix socket naming for me (FYI my C is not that great). I'm using
2.0.5 and this stems from a problem with the general admin of Nut but
looking at the code led me to think maybe it's a bigger issue (thus i
joined this list).
Right to start with if i have the following in ups.conf:

megatec over USB - new driver patch
Hello, all.
Some time ago I bought myself a UPS which was advertised as USB-HID.
It was a surprise to learn that while it definitely is recognized as USB
device, the HID descriptor has no UPS pages at all. The only software it
came with was a windows program written in visual basic. Trying to
research this topic I found a reference to energizer USB ups driver and

questions re. patching bcmxcp.c and choosing variable names
I've patched bcmxcp.c such that it can power cycle the outlet load
segments independently on a Powerware PW5125 UPS. I presume that it will
work for any XCP protocol UPS with 2 load segments.
Should these instant commands be called
outlet.1.shutdown.return
outlet.2.shutdown.return
?
Where do the descriptions displayed by upscmd -l come from? Presently it
shows
outlet.1.shutdown.return -

Nut fsd command ignored: bcmxcp_usb driver, Powerware 5105 UPS
Hi
I'm having a problem with the bcmxcp_usb driver FSD command: everything
seems to work apart from:
upsmon -c fsd
Environment: Ubuntu 7.04, nut 2.0.5-1, nut-usb 2.0.5-1, Powerware 3105
UPS.
upsd appears to send the FSD command to the UPS, upsmon then runs my
NOTIFYCMD (which halts my PC) but the UPS just doesn't turn off.
Here are the /var/log/daemon.log entries:

HP T/R2200 G2
Has anyone had any success with the HP T/R2200 G2? I have used the
T/R2200 with nut a few times before and it works great, but the G2
doesn't want to talk to me.
I have tried bcmxcp from 2.0.4, 2.2.2, and svn, as well as the usb
drivers. Maybe the G2 isn't a rebadged powerware unit?
Thanks

Powerware Prestige 1000VA
Hi all,
I've more-or-less got NUT 2.0.4 working with my Powerware Prestige
1000VA UPS (serial), but unfortunately NUT is flagging LOW_BATTERY
continuously, which is a tad embarrassing when power fails ;-)
The numbers from upsc blah at localhost seem reasonable:
ambient.temperature: 24.5
battery.charge: 99
battery.runtime: 3999
battery.voltage: 69.2
driver.name: bcmxcp

driver looking for MAXIM MXE II
Hello:
I have a UPS model MXE II MAXIM brand online, 3500VA 2100W.
Connects to the PC by a USB 2.0 port.
I wanted to use nut, but this brand is not on the list of nut drivers.
lsusb returns:
...
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 06DA: 0201 Phoenixtec Power Co., Ltd
...
I did not find this manufacturer in the driver list.
Anyone know if you can have compatibility with other make and model of UPS.

Autodetecting running drivers by the 'upsd' server
Currently, the 'upsd' server uses 'ups.conf' to find out which drivers
should be running and uses this information to construct the socketname it
needs. This means that drivers that have not been configured in 'ups.conf'
can never be seen by the server. If we ever want to autodetect (by
whatever means) what drivers are started (udev?) and we start them
automatically, this

HP/Compaq Rackmount UPS Support?
Hi,
I have an HP R5500XR and a Compaq R3000XR that I would like to use with nut.
I searched the compatibility lists and the mail list archives but couldn't
find anything.
They both have 9 pin serial ports.
Can anyone give me any information about them, and if they are supported by
nut?
Thanks,
Denny Fox
