Mongrel 0.3.18, rails 1.1.6 and cookies
I''ve run into an issue with my rails application being unable to properly set cookies on Mongrel 0.3.18. If I run the simplified code below in Mongrel 3.14.4, both cookies are properly sent to and saved by the browser. With the same code in 0.3.18, only the auth_token cookie is created (if I switch them, only the userid as it will only properly create the first cookie in the list.)

undefined method: controller_name
With rspec 1.0.8 I have a spec in the directory: spec/units/controllers/application_controller_spec.rb require File.dirname(__FILE__) + ''/../../spec_helper'' class DummyController < ApplicationController def index raise "Prevent index from rendering" end end describe ApplicationController, "Handling errors in production", :behaviour_type =>

spec''ing shared controller methods
I want to isolate and spec methods that are shared by controllers, and live in application.rb. Whereas I usually also provide examples in individual controllers that use these methods, not necessarily all the edge cases and I''d like to isolate the examples. This is the approach I''m taking (thanks to bryanl for suggestions and http://pastie.caboo.se/123626). WDYT? This

question on autch cache parameters
Hi list, I have a question on auth caching in 2.2.18. I am using acl_groups for a master user, appended in a static userdb file # snip ############################### master at uma:{SHA}XXXX=::::::userdb_acl_groups=umareadmaster allow_nets=127.0.0.1 # snap ############################### and use this group in a global ACL file. I discovered this only works on first NOT-cached login

mock feed
Hello generous coders, I''m having difficulty getting a couple of tests to pass. I have an address model which takes an address and with a callback on save and update passes the address to google''s geocoding service. The returned XML is parsed and saved to the address object: protected def geocode_address key = "mykey" url =

question on autch cache parameters
Hello Thank you for your report. We really appreciate it, especially when you can pinpoint a commit. However, I am unable to reproduce this. Could you post your doveconf -n please? Im especially interested in your passdb and userdb configurations and auth-cache settings. br, Teemu Huovila On 08/06/2015 01:07 PM, matthias lay wrote: > hi timo, > > I checked out the commit causing

spec for model_id should eql
Hello, I''m confused why the spec described below is failing. Other simple comparison specs are passing fine for the same model. The code is working accordingly when I test it through the console, I''m just having difficulty getting this spec to work. Any pointers would be appreciated. False Positives and Autotest on New Folders
False Positives I just discovered how easy it was to create a false positive when I, trying my first RSpec test, did this: ob.should eql?(''foo'') instead of: ob.should eql(''foo'') or: ob.should == ''foo'' As far as I can see, this is roughly equivalent to: ob.should false Neither eql?(''foo'') nor false causes the spec

Stub / Mock - A little guidance?
Hi there, I''m still trying to wrap my head around when to use a stub and a mock. If I understand this right, I should be using a ''mock'' when imitating an object, but not its behavior. I should be using a stub when I want to imitate the behavior of an object. Does that sound about right? With that said, I''m struggling a little trying to spec out this instance

help with shadow copy implementation
Hi, Over the past several days I have been trying to get the shadow to work with samba but haven't been successful. Can someone check below config and let me know if I am missing something? We are using Equallogic SAN and iSCSI LUNS to mount volumes. I can cleanly access samba shares on Windows 7 clients but just not shadow copy. I have referred the official how-to but couldn't get it to

Coding standards and whitespace
Recently as a result of using Git I''ve noticed a number of inconsistencies in the RSpec codebase with respect to whitespace (mixed line endings, mixed use of spaces and tabs for indentation, and trailing whitespace at the end of lines). I never would have noticed, but Git produces nice colorized diff output which highlights these kinds of inconsistencies. I wanted to ask if the
