Problems with crashing IBM X3630 M3/ZFS
Hello. I've got a quartet of IBM x3630 M3 with one that is frequently hard locking under heavy NFS load. I am running 9.0-RELEASE with all the patches from freebsd-update. My problem machine has 8 16 core clients, each doing IO intensive tasks connected to it via a Procurve and the onboard igb0 interface. Mostly network reads, typically 10MB read per MB written. When the machine locks

sftp Batchmode command level error suppression does not work?
Hi guys - OpenSSH sftp (on solaris) >From man page Termination on error can be suppressed on a command by command basis by prefixing the command with a `-' character (for example, -rm /tmp/blah* ). This does not seem to work - instead the server seems to fail to recognize the command from the batchfile. Consider this batchfile mkdir tmp cd tmp put rpt.list bye We want to

Routing setup with pfSense package
WOW! OK! The light bulb above my head just came on. I added the script to the Subnet Up Script section, and now all the routes I need have been added in to the table for me. I did have to modify the line a little since I'm using pfSense (FreeBSD). I changed it to... route add "$SUBNET" -iface "$INTERFACE" ...I also used... route del "$SUBNET" -iface

Connecting to Tripp-Lite SNMPWEBCARD
Hey! I was wondering if anybody has had any luck getting a Tripp Lite UPS with the SNMPWEBCARD working with NUT? I haven?t been able to get it working using the same steps I did getting an APC unit working. I have been able to get snmpwalk to work with SNMP 1 so theoretically it should work for at least that snmp v1. We are using Centos 6.4 with NUT version nut-2.6.5-2.el6.src.rpm. We currently

I download ext3-2.4-0.9.13-2413.gz to my linux machine to enable it be useful with ext3 support but when I try to gunzip it with the instructions gunzip < ~/ext3-2.4-0.9.13-2413.gz | patch -p1 i get gunzip: stdin: not in gzip format I get an

multiple usb apc smart ups with nut?
Hello everybody, I got tree UPS devices connected to a Debian server, and i am searching for a way to configure them. The server power-cord is only connected to one of the ups devices, and should monitor the other ups systems to sent email status. I got a HP R3000XR UPS with has a RS232 communication port that I have working perfectly. Then I have two APC SmartUPS 750V devices that are

SSD support in C5 and C6
Hey everyone, My company is beginning to look at using SSD drives in our CentOS based servers. Does C5 and C6 support TRIM and other "required" functions for the SSD to operate? APC Back UPS?
> >> Maybe it's not a standard ethernet-to-UPS cable? > > That's Ben's point - either it is actual Ethernet (usually found on an add-on UPS SNMP monitoring card, where the jack typically has two status LEDs, one on either side of the notch for the modular plug tab) that needs to go to another Ethernet jack on a NIC or a switch, or it is a proprietary APC cable that

Proposed apcsmart driver patch
G'day y'all, Here's a tiny patch set for drivers/apcsmart.c and drivers/apcsmart.h. Adds APC SmartUPS 1250 ("8QD" case) + 940-0024C recognition to apcsmart. (Unpatched apcsmart.c v1.99.8 misidentifies the SmartUPS 1250 as a "dumb" UPS.) For NUT 2.0.5+. NUT 2.0.5: Patches apply successfully. Builds successfully. Works as expected under Ubuntu 7.04. Fw: problem with safe_asterisk
I have no problems lauching asterisk from the command line . . . asterisk -vvvvc However, I'm trying to autostart on boot up, so I'm trying safe_asterisk When I do this, I get: Asterisk ended with exit status 127. Asterisk died with code 127. Aborting. I've looked through the script but can't find what the problem is. I'm running on RedHat Fedora. Thanks for your help.

Back to apcupsd
Ok, so another apc UPS 3000 complained about bad batteries, and I changed them out from the same order that I'd gotten in a couple of months ago. The APC SmartUPS 3000 started connecting and disconnecting the USB connection. I brought down and up the service, no joy. Finally, after googling, I found a *completely* undocumented way to start apcupsd, that a few years ago someone was told to

APC SmartUPS 2200XL + UDEV + USB = tcgetattr : Invalid argument
I need direction. I don't know what to google for anymore. I am unable to get my SmartUPS 2200XL to be recognized. My suspicions are that it's UDEV or Kernel related. I've updated the kernel to the highest version I feel comfortable with due to other things that run on the server, and I've updated UDEV a bit too. When I plug in the USB cable from the UPS into the server, I

Routing setup with pfSense package
Is it possible to connect networks with different masks together? For example a 10.26.0.0/16 subnet with a 192.168.117.0/24 subnet. See this thread for more details... https://forum.netgate.com/topic/134218/tinc-initial-setup

Nut-upsuser Digest, Vol 153, Issue 13
maybe i have solved this issue, i unplugged APC BackUPS from USB 2.0 and PLUGGED INTO USB 3.0 and now it works prefectly at first time without any side effects, strange, this shoud be working since USB 1.0 so ups driver is configured OK, this config works ok for backups, this looks like there is no problem with detection of UPS but with USB driver or something around so simply if somebody has

APC smartups 1500 is broken with usbhid-ups
I'm trying to setup a server controlling 8 ups, 6 APC Smartups 1500 and two 1000. Because of the number of ups, i connected them using usb cables. I'm using Debian Etch AMD64 and nut 2.2.0 from testing (already tried 2.0 from stable, but had problems reading the ups serials and all the following problems of 2.2). This is my ups.conf: [ups2] driver = usbhid-ups port =

A question about compiling the kernel with ext3 support
Hi, I am trying to compile the kernel with ext3 support and i downloaded the 2.4.13 kernel and patched it for RH 7.2 to update from the 2.4.7 precompiled ext3fs kernel. Then i selected ext3 support and and the JBD debugging support under 'make xconfig.' Then i ran the following commands make clean make dep make bzImage make modules make modules_install cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage
