Energy efficient UPS - anybody?
Hello,
i`m looking for a nut-compatible low-power UPS (need to hook a home-server+dsl equipment with a load of ~50W to that) which should be as energy efficient as possible and be also affordable.
i currently have an older powerwalker which constantly burns ~15W for nothing. The transformer inside getting that hot that you don`t like to touch it and i think 15W out of 50 is a little bit high

energizerups and bestups -> megatec?
Hi!
I don't know how I missed it before, but "bestups" seems to implement
mostly the same protocol as megatec. Is anybody out there using this
driver willing to try "megatec" to see if it works?
AFAIK, the only difference seems to be the command that gets the UPS
identification data ("I" on "megatec", "ID" on "bestups"), but

request of information
Hello.
My name is Ilir Danaj.
Last week i bought an UPS from Digitus vendor the Model DN-170091 because I
have to connect it with the server from the USB port.
I check on your site form compability models, but I see the old model of
DN-170014.
Does it have to update, or I bought a wrong UPS.
Thank you in advance.
*Best*

New UPS protocol choice - Dynamix
Gidday all - I'm a new user to nut.
I've got some cheap powerpal UPSs working fairly well.
However I also have a new Dynamix UPS-1700D and an old Powercom KIN-1700
something unit that I cannot make work right.
The best method I've found is "trial and error" which sounds a bit
last-resort. Is there any better way to find out what protocol is used?

Mustek PowerMust 1000AV USB feedbacks
Hello,
It looks like the nut-upsuser list is momentarily down. That's why I
send it to nut-upsdev list too.
I have recently bought a mustek Powermust 1000VA USB (sadly not the USB
P version). I have done some tests with the latest nut 2.2.0 megatec and
megatec_usb drivers. Here are my feedbacks.
It works quite well but is extremely noisy in battery mode (and that
is not the noise of the

selecting columns
I need help.
I have very big .csv files with many unnecessary columns. From the original
.csv files I would like to create a new .csv file with just the columns I
need.
For example:
The original column heading are: Date, Time, Location, Sensor Name, Sensor
Serial, Ambient Temp, IR Temp, Sensor Name.1, Sensor Serial.1, Ambient
Temp.1, IR Temp.1, Sensor Name.2, Sensor Serial.2, Ambient

success report with megatec and Belkin F6H650UkUNV (was: Success report with network UPS tools)
Hi Andy,
I've forwarded your info to the development list, and Carlos Rodrigues
(the
megatec driver author and maintainer.
As a side note, there is a megatec_usb driver underway. You might
want to give it a try.
@Carlos: I let you update the drivers.list.
Thanks for your report,

[RFC] nouveau: Add basic i2c sensor chip support
This adds basic support for driving sensor chips off the nvidia i2c buses,
along with basic support for reading the internal GPU sensor on supported
chipsets. It's heavily cribbed off nvclock. Having scanned a large number
of bioses, I'm pretty convinced that the appropriate i2c bus is always
number 2 in the list on <g80 - I'm not sure about later cards yet.
There's still a lot

Do you have one of these UPSes?
If so, here was Dan's email about a branch to test:

MGE Pulsar Evolution 1100 - USB - error sending control message
Hi all,
Have been using Nut on Linux for over ten years now and find it
brilliant. Thanks.
Just upgraded to 2.4.2 and have the 5 or 6 models of UPS's that we use
(apcsmart, megatec, mge-shut, surgemax, digitus) all working including
the MGE Pulsar Evolution 1100 on a USB connection using the usbhid-ups
driver. Running on SLES9. Old but we still have a few servers out

Temperature sensor
Does anyone know of a cheap temperature sensor that will work with
Linux? I don't need a fancy monitoring appliance, I just want a simple
sensor that I can connect to one of my monitoring servers to let me know
if the server room is getting hot.
