USB support for Sweex 1000 VA UPS (was: Help with USB support for a Kebo UPS-650D)
First off, my apologies for bringing back this thread from the dead (September 2005, http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsdev/2005-September/000150.html), however my problem seems relevant enough that I wondered what happened to this thread as it seems to have died after the message I quote below. Help with USB support for a Kebo UPS-650D
Folks, I'm fairly new to this whole Linux UPS thingie, but I'd quite like to have a look at getting my UPS to work under Linux and would be grateful for any help in getting a driver. I have a reasonable working knowledge of Linux and software development, and thus am happy to modify config files, alter kernel settings, etc, although I'm no C guru. I have a Kebo UPS-650D, which

mainboard recommendations
Hi, As it has been brought to my attention (by several parties), my current MB does not support VT-d. Since I don''t feel like purchasing a brand new system, I have searched for replacement MB-s that would fit into my existing uATX case, support my C2D CPU, and support at least 4x2GB ram. I have narrowed it down to the following four models: SUPERMICRO MBD-C2SBM-Q-O (Q35 chipset)

Ogg Vorbis, Ogg Speex, Ogg FLAC
Now that FLAC has officionally joined the Xiph family, there are three different free audio codecs, which can be stored/transported using the ogg container. Would it be possible to create an API and/or a library that would cover them all? If my understanding of the situation is correct, if an application wants to support vorbis, speex and flac, it has to use three different interfaces.

XEN sound emulation locks device exclusively
Hi there! My problem is the following: I am experimenting with virtualization with XEN. I am running WinXP in a HVM host with a Debian Gnu/Linux (Etch) dom0. I am also using audio emulation (sb16). This way, sounds from WinXP work fine. And here comes the problem: The HVM guest completely reserves the audio device; other software can not use it. (mplayer says this: alsa-init: using ALSA

Hi, I have read your message about building a VirtualGL server in a xen domU at http://www.mail-archive.com/virtualgl-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg00088.html . I plan to do exactly the same. Could you please share some of your experience? What HW have you chosen? Have you succeeded? According to the information at http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenVGAPassthroughTestedAdapters ,

Unified codec interface
Here is what I imagined (just vague thoughts, nothing polished): Let's suppose we have a hypotetical library called "Free Universal Codec Kit" - ..um...well.. Frunick for short :) (Of course I am not proposing this name, I'm sure the suits in the industry would not like it...but for my example its OK ;) Now, an application should do something like this: #include

ambiguity in sample ices config files
[please cc the answers to me, because I'm not on this list!] Hi there! Yesterday I downloaded the CVS version of icecast and ices. There are several example config files provided for ices in the conf/ directory. The ices-playlist.xml specifies encoding for one of the instances: <encode> <nominal-bitrate>64000</nominal-bitrate>
