Setup of upssched on opensuse 11
Hi all
I?m not sure if this is the right place to post but I?m at wits end. So here
we go.
Running opensuse 11 with two ups that can be seen via web interface and post
messages on the console.
My issue lies in trying to get the upssched and upsmon to work correctly.
Currently I have the exec flags denoted in the upsmon and ?NOTIFYCMD
/usr/sbin/upssched? is specified as the NOTIFYCMD flag as

Network freezes - possibly yum?
Hi. I have a CentOS 4.2 server running. I've just experience that it
stops responding (http, ssh) when doing yum update pam xorg-x11 gnupg
This has happened two times in a row, so I'm curious if anyone has
experienced anything like this? Could it be yum or should I look for the
explanation elsewhere?

Hello.
I have some problem, with a new configuration on a new PC.
I want to setup a SAMBA PDC using an HOWTO.

Master Works, Slave Does Not
I would like to verify my understanding keeping in mind I have a one master and one slave computer.
When the master gets the low batt/noAC signal it initiates a broadcast packet(s) on port 3493.
1) Is this correct?
Then the slave computer must have this port open and it listens on this port for the shut-down command.
2) Is this correct?
On the slave if I run the following:

nmap not scanning networks?
Hello!
Attempt to scan a network with any method except plain ping results in an error:
truss nmap -sT -p 21 '172.19.17.*'
[...]
sendto(0x4,0x8094200,0,0x0,{ AF_INET 172.19.17.0:0 },0x10) ERR#49 'Can't assign
requested address'
[...]
What's strange that man on send(2) doesn't state that EADDRNOTAVAIL can ever be returned from sendto().

Host does not respond to nmap
Hey Y'all,
I just set up a new old machine on my network. I did a net install of
CentOS 6.7 on it replacing an outdated copy of Win XP. Of course I'm
now in the throws of configuring the machine to be a useful member of
society.

nnamp question
Hi:
I have a machine with four interfaces connecting four
different networks. I am learning to use nmap and
trying to force the nmap working only one interface.
As nmap man page states, I use -e option and it would
not work:
nmap -e fx0 -v -sP 192.168.128.0/23

NUT fails on openSUSE 11.3 if IPv6 turned off
Dear List, I'm running NUT 2.4.1 on openSUSE 11.3 64 bits, kernel
2.6.34. The UPS is an Eaton Ellipse ASR 1500 USBS. With driver
usbhid-ups NUT works perfectly _until_ I turn off IPv6.
By default IPv6 is turned on in openSUSE 11.3. I visited YaST ->
Network Settings -> Global options and deselected "Enable IPv6". I
then restarted the box. When I entered the command

The central problem seems to be that the monitoring host can't hit nrpe on
port 5666 UDP.
[root at monitor1:~] #/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H

Can't make asterisk work...how to test?
All,
I've put a new asterisk server at another location and can't seem to get
it working. What's the best strategy to debug connections?
I'm doing inbound SIP only and have installed the server in the same way
as I did on my DEV server. Running an nmap on localhost shows the port
listening:

[BUG] imap-login segfault when running nmap -sV
Hi,
I've noticed that nmap crashes my imap-login (also pop3-login) and
narrowed it down to `nmap -sV -p 993 $host`. I've noticed that if I
remove "ssl_protocols = !SSLv2 !SSLv3" from my config or enable SSLv3
rather than disabling it the segfault disappears.
I'm running on Arch Linux with dovecot 2.2.16-1 and openssl 1.0.2.a-1.
I've also attached a network capture, but
