This assumes that you use the Bash shell in your default environment. It will
need adaption if you use Dash.

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Thank you! Sorry for another bonehead question…. Do I replace <myups> with the IP address of the NUT Server/Synology? I’m assuming I would use this version for use in Dash with Ubuntu, correct?

Probabilities outside [0, 1] using Support Vector Machines (SVM) in e1071
Hi All,
I'm attempting to use eps-regression or nu-regression SVM to compute
probabilities but the predict function applied to an svm model object
returns values outside [0, 1]:

Fwd: RE: DSP stamp
Are we interested, or ready for this? Andrew Seddon is offering to provide
hardware to port Theora to the DSP Stamp.

Adding More Variables from the CyberPower MIB
As per https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/pull/1982 I'm looking to
add a few more variables from the CyberPower SNMP MIB. At question in
particular are the values added to the ups.status variable coming from
the CPS-MIB::upsStatus.0 OID. These values are, from the MIB:

setting up CYBERPOWER CP1500PFCLCD
Hi,
Another beginner question. I spend hours trying to find the solution for
how to configure winnut properly but I' struggling to make it work. I want
my QNAP NAS TS-231 to work as a master and send signal to the PC to shut it
down during power outage. I configured QNAP properly (like this:

what to do next.

ices2 memory leak on Debian/ARM (The Darkener)
Sorry to interrupt
but for such devices you should use Optware. - It is created for this
kind of hardware.
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/HomePage
Here is the Bootstrap for ARM
http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/syno-x07/cross/unstable/syno-x07-bootstrap_1.2-7_arm.xsh
and in this repository you find a Ices

Yes, you replace <myups> with the address of your UPS, for example
"ups at 192.168.x.y". Are you using Dash or Bash?

BestPower Ferrups driver glitch with f commands
The problem will only affect newer firmwares on the BestPower FerrUPS 2.1kva units. Additional white-space was the issue. I added a if clause to the bestfcom driver to account for this without breaking what was there. Here is the patch:

SNMP agent for NUT
Hello guys,
I was some years ago when I sent something to this list.
NUT is a great tool but lacks SNMP management. It can access a device using SNMP
but I found no way to read NUT values using SNMP. It would be very
useful in order to integrate with
network management software based on SNMP. As I did not find a
solution, I wrote it myself.
I wrote a MIB file and a SNMP agent for net-snmp

RE: DSP stamp
Hi,
If somebody is interested in having a crack at this (and think's they have a reasonable chance of succeeding) then there is a dev kit up for grabs.
John, we actually already have a LM9638 (1280x1024, B/W) image sensor interfaced to the board. There is a colour version drop in replacement. We also have a color QVGA TFT hooked up for video out.
So a good demo system would be to capture

Yes, the Theora codec is based on VP3, which is an earlier version of ON2's
VP6 codec. Theora is currently at its alpha 3 release, and is stable enough
to have been used already for streaming live video from a number of
conferences, and for encoding several videos that can be found at
www.theora.org.
Development has progressed to the point that the value of the codec can be
seen. That

2.6 kernel on CentOS-3.3
Hi
I am happy to share a "proof of concept" for a centos-3.3 (not yet 3.4 ready)
x86 and x86_64 distributions running either 2.4 and 2.6 linux kernels.
This is not an official statement of the CentOS team!

don't complain if this howto eats your machine ;)
It works for me and the src.rpm are provided.

Ok, gotcha, I did that. I believe Ubuntu uses Bash for user sessions and Dash fornscripts, so followed your instructions for Dash. I put the getUPStatus bits in .bashrc and tested in Terminal and got:
UPS status is [OL]:100
So I went ahead and put your SHUTDOWNCMD in upsmon.conf. I think it should be working now....

Update on NUT 2.4 roadmap
I finally took some time to lay down a consolidated roadmap to the
next major milestone (2.4), and some update on this.
1) new documentation (User and Developer Manuals)

This is the biggest change for 2.4.
We will use the new test.networkupstools.org website to create and
maintain the content, based upon the
