Open Source Billing Software
I know that this has been a hot topic in the past, and that there are a
number of views about the overall suitability of RADIUS, which billing
methodology is best, what is the meaning of life and such...
What I would like to know is has anyone found an open-source billing
platform that performs basic billing functionality (pre/post) from
RADIUS and/or Asterisk CDR and is written

duration sec and billing sec in cdr
Hi guys,
i've installed asterisk to handle multiple voip accounts. I've looked
at CDR configs, and managed to have cdr-csv files growing after each
call. It would be easier to check my locak asterisk cdr's than logging
into each account and check them at the provider website.
i found that if i ring my sip softphone from my ata, bill seconds are
counted correctly. however, if i

CDR problem - incorrect time
We have a billing system that depends on the CDRs. We had a guest that
made a one minute call to a local cellphone, this call went out Zap
channel through our channel bank. The CDR recorded a 200 minute call,
but I checked with the Telco's records and it had terminated after one
minute. What can cause this and what can I do to prevent it?

outgoing call routing
I have a Asterisk @home ver 1.0 running with a TDMB11 card. Several sip
extensions and a regular phone connected to the box. All routing works fine
from the regular phone connected to the box, whether its going to FWD,
broadvoice or the PSTN. The problem I am experiencing comes from making
calls from the sip phones. They get routed correctly to the sip and iax
trunks but when making calls

Bugs??
Good Day All,
I am facing a serious problem since I started to use asterisk. I don?t know if it is a bug or some one already solved this.
Currently I am running 120 VoIP SIP channels on my asterisk server but each day 2, 3 calls got hanged in asterisk, and on asterisk CLI ?show channels? showing us as call UP but in real there is no call.
When asterisk restarted the hanged calls removed from

Your thoughts..
I need to get your thoughts on something.. :)
I am trying to create a system to process the CDR call logs for
department accounting..
I think there are two ways of doing it.. Either I can create an AGI that
will run on the "h" extension and will lookup the last entry that
matches the account code of the call that just ended in the MySQL CDR
and calculate the call cost immediately..

Setting a CDR field from using feature codes...
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I am trying to set the CDR(userfield) to a certain vaule using the
application map of features.conf but I am not able to do it. When I
receive a call I would like to tag it with a client code (3 digit
numeric) so I can referenci it later from the CDR. I have edited
features.conf with something like:
code => #111,self,SET(CDR(userfield(111))

Wildly inaccurate CDR records
My CDR is displaying wildly inaccurate results.
When I make a call the CDR records the time between connecting into the
server and hanging up, instead of recording the time between dialling
from the server to the PSTN destination via VOIP termination.
It is alright to log the duration of the connection to the server, but
why it does not log calls for termination via voip provider is the main

CDRs and billing
Hello
I configured Asterisk to put CDRs in the database like it was explained in:
www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+cdr+pgsql
What I want to know is how do the billing solutions (like
Asterisk2Billing) work with Asterisk.
The billing system just use the information that Asterisk puts in the
CDR table?
Or they connect directly to Asterisk?
Or is Asterisk that has, before the Dial command,

SetCDRUserField actually works?
Hi all,
I'm trying to add custom billing info into the CDR records. I did a
SetCDRUserField from my agi. Asterisk seems to acknowledge the call, but
the value is not anywhere in the CDR record. I checked the CSV and Mysql
CDR table. The field is always blank.
Anyone had any success with this?
Cheers and TIA.

[1.4] Minimal installation?
Hello,
I'd like to run Asterisk on an embedded device, where space is scarce.
It should be able to handle calls from a VoIP provider in SIP, calls
from the PSTN through Dahdi, and voicemail.
If someone's already done this, I'd like to know which
directories/files are required for a basic install?
Does this look right?

databases for billing
hi
I want to do a database to save the cdr with a billing finality. I've created the database in mysql (thanks for the table and all that!) but I'm not sure of how to 'connect' asterisk to that database in order to save there the cdr. Is the cdr_mysql.conf what I have to config? Or must I do a script, with the 'database' AGI commands?
Any help would be so apreciated!

Question about cdr_sql fields
Hello-
Is it possible to set the CDR record field called "accountcode" from within
the dialplan? Or is there another way to cause this field to be set,
preferably without using AGI code.
Thanks

CDRs, Conferencing, and MeetMe
We are developing an on-demand teleconferencing solution. We will be
billing per-minute/per-user.
I've successfully gotten Asterisk to write CDR data to a postgres database,
but with the way I've got things setup right now the CDR does not have the
dialed conference number. We need this information in order to be able to
bill.
As teleconferencing is the only application of the

Reporting for Asterisk Call Center
Dear Tariq;
About elastix.org, this can be use with Asterisk or it is coming as a complete IP Telephony, Call Center, IVR and Reporting?
Because, I do not need to install another IP Telephony on the server which already has asterisk which is an IP Telephony, this will cause a problem in the service (for example, when listening for SIP port of 5060).

Interesting email project.
Hey all.
My boss asked me to implement the following
When DID 713xxxxxxx is dialed send an email to mmosier at xxx.com. with the
time date and CID included in the email. I know how to code some but am
looking for the best way to do this.
Sorry I might have asked this a couple months back. I forgot.

Possible AGI Bug in Asterisk?
Dear All,
I seem to have stumbled across an AGI problem;
I have written an AGI Script (bottom of this email);
The script does the following;
Makes a CDR entry when called
Records the call
Updates the CDR
Finds a corresponding DNIS from the SMDR table (captured via a serial
port logger)
Matches up the record and updates the CDR.
The script works perfectly in my test lab and has been doing so

Current Open Source Billing Package
After spending a couple hours scanning for an open source (non-
commercial) billing package yesterday I am underwhelmed. Almost all of
the packages listed on the WIKI appear to be defunct, for several
years now. I will be happy to get a login and edit them out if that is
the proper method to do so.
My requirements are very minimal and at this point unless I have
missed something will
