ovirt (git) build removes ovirtnode.password
Hi There, I may be doing something wrong. I built ovirt-node-image from git using instructions at https://fedorahosted.org/ovirt/wiki/Build (note: the -b next should be removed from the wiki) Anyway, moving on. I successfully created an ovirt-node-image.iso, but when I boot off it, the first boot fails with ovirtnode.password being missing. I can see in recipe/ovirt-node-image.ks that

Use CentOSplus to carry latest GUI packages
I don't know if this has been talked about much in the past, but I was wondering if CentOSplus could be used to carry the latest stable versions of the GUI applications KDE/Gnome. These apps often lag behind quite a bit even on the selected stable branch upstream has chosen. For example, would it decrease stability to update KDE from 3.5.4 to 3.5.8? I think it would add to stability as long

QtRuby
Hello, Has anyone tested QtRuby? I''m doing a small OpenGL application http://www.discretizer.org and just want to know the arguments for staying with fxruby. This is what I have discovered: Pros: -Fxruby seems to have a very nice OpenGL support (FXGLViewer) which is what I really need. -Nice looks. No unnecessary theming support. -Very fast and light on system resources. Cons: -No

GUI client?
It's very nice to see that NUT now supports my Belkin Universal UPS. Great work! Now I'm wondering if there's a GUI client that will build/run on a modern distribution. KNutClient requires an outdated version of Qt, and the "UPS Monitor" link leads to a Spanish error page. Thanks! -- ======================================================================== Ian Pilcher

Pros and Cons of R :GUI
R has very good GUI packages that I have used - R Commander RCmdr and Rattle rattle . Since I work on multiple packages with constraints of time, I almost always use the GUI rather go through the intricacies of command line . The log of these GUIs shows the relevant R command that was used, so you can actually learn the language also. I have written about the ease of learning R , if you begin

[LLVMdev] debugging LLVM-JITted code
Hello, I'm interested in debugging code JITted by LLVM at runtime. For that, I should naturally have some way to emit DWARF that faithfully describes the JITted code into memory along with the JITted code itself and point the debugger to it. Let's assume that the bridge with the debugger is taken care of (e.g. http://llvm.org/docs/DebuggingJITedCode.html) - my concern in this question is

recording sound: how 2 control recording level?
Hi gang! I'm trying to record (to .wav files) sound coming in on the line input of my sound card (in this case, output of a tape deck). For LISTENING purposes, I can control the level with the Gnome Mixer. However, the RECORDING level is not affected by the mixer. As a result, the recorded audio is badly clipped and horribly distorted. I don't understand enough about how this stuff

3-d kernel smooth by the "kde" function
Dear R community, I'm having hard time to understand the kde function in "ks" package. Let me use a 3-dimensional kernel smooth example to explain my question using the elevation data in geoR. ### here is what I did ### library(ks) require(geoR) data(elevation) elev.df <- data.frame(x = elevation$coords[,"x"], y = elevation$coords[,"y"], z = elevation$data)

A Top Level README for the nightly CVS snapshot
I ran into a dependency problem while compiling the CVS snapshot which did not occur while compiling the beta 3 tarballs. For some missing resources, autogen.sh echoes very helpful messages (such as if automake is not present), but there was no indication that the kdelibs-devel package was required for ao (in order to get artsc.h into /usr/include - I'm sure it is possible to edit the

"Matrix' with Functions
Dear R members, I have a quite large of function that are named like that f11,f12,...f15 f21,f22,...f25 .. f51,f52,...f52 These are static (hard-coded) functions that the only common they have is that they take the same number and type of input fij(a,b,c,d). As you might understand this is really close to the notion of matrix only that my 'matrix' contains functions. It would be great if

fedora 19 + libvirt-1.0.5.9 routing problems
Hi, I am an experienced libvirt user on Fedora versions from F15 to F17. I have developped scripts to route trafic from outside on multiple interfaces/multiples IPs to multiple VMs, and back to affect each VM the required external IP address. I have servers with more than hundreds external IPs, and up to 4 VMs, each of them route trafic on different external IPs. I have servers with Fedora

hlds.exe gui display issues
If I try to run the windows half-life server hlds.exe in gui mode (without the -console parameter), it runs but the display does not update. The labels and text boxes are blank, and the buttons have no caption. I'd post a screen shot but I haven't figured out how to take screen shots of kde desktop lol. Note - I run hlds in non-gui mode (console) because that works very well, but

how to stop cursor blinking in wine GUI
Hi all wine users and developers, I have a touch question which I have been searching answers for quite a long time to configure wine but still have not solved yet. Wine is the only Windows program simulator running in Linux which I use, however one thing annoying me is that currently the cursor is always blinking in the GUI. For example, the editplus running in wine. Something it really drives
