SIP-T Support (I got my head in an SS7 cloud)
Hey All,
I'm just daydreaming here.. but what's the status of SIP-T in Asterisk?
I haven't been able to find a whole lot of info on SIP-T but seems like
just an extension of SIP. Right?
Now if I had a PSTN Gateway (that is a SS7 gateway) that supported
SIP-T, could I signal * with SIP-T from it and have asterisk utilize
MGCP to sieze a particular DS0 on a remote DS1? Hmm.. What am

SIP-T to SIP Gateway
Hello,
There are some parameters in the ISUP data (coming into the network via
SIP-T packets) that need to be translated into SIP headers to be used by
asterisk for proper call routing. What gateways are available to accomplish
this?
Thanks,
Elliot

g729a compatibility
Hello!
I have a sip device that is sending in the SDP:
rtpmap:98 g729a
It does not seem like Asterisk is negotiating the codec properly,
because while the call rings, the rtp lines fail. However, on other
sip devices that have "rtpmap:18 g729" in their SDP, things work fine
with Digium's commercial g729 license.
How do I get "98 g729a" recognized by Asterisk?
Thanks,

AS5400 E1 SS7
Hi,
Would just like to inquire if anyone here has a setup of asterisk to send traffic to AS5400 connected to an SS7-PRI.? this is more of a AS54 question, as i've been reading and i always stumble upon PGW2200 as a requirement to handle SS7 signaling on the AS54. Has anyone able to send calls from asterisk to an as 54 with SS7-PRI without PGW2200?
TIA
Regards,
Nhadie

books about ISDN/ss7?
hi
can someone recommend a book about ISDN and SS7? I've been hacking
asterisk for a while, but it'd be good to get some better background
within things...
thanks

2. Asterisk server be able to accept and send SMS messages through PRI lines
and Internet connections.
I noticed that Asterisk has an SMS function, but I am not farmiliar

Digium Fax Driver
Hello!
I have a 64 bit Asterisk system and am wondering how to use Digium's 32 bit
fax driver. Is there some kind of emulation that can be used?
Thanks!

Pressing number 2 in dialplan
Hello!
I am having an odd problem in that when the caller dials extension "2"
in a dialplan, the system waits 3 to 4 seconds before proceeding.
This doesn't happen when any other other extensions are dialed,
including an identical dialplan on other another extension!
Is this a bug?

Server Setup Advice
Hello Everybody!
I am currently setting up an Asterisk server for medium to high load
(approximately 20-35 concurrent phone lines).
Do you think the following specs will sufficiently satisfy this system?
CPU: XeonQC3220 2.4GHZ 8M
RAM: 2X2GB/800
Harddrive: 1X250GB
I could add harddrives and partition them into /var and /log
directories to help with diskdrive throughput.
Thanks!

Re: [Asterisk-ss7] Asterisk - ss7
I thought everyone should know this.
Jorge, After reading your page in the
http://voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+SS7
please advise Your U.S. customers that SS7 is not done the same way as
in the rest of the world and the requirements are different. The U.S
carrier's require 2 redundant links. I know this first hand because we
run an SS7 network.

Dahdi, TE220 Device, and Asterisk Problem
Hello!
I am trying to configure my digium TE220 dual-span pci express card
with Dahdi. I seemed to have managed to set up the card with the
Dahdi kernel, as demonstrated by executing dahdi_scan:

name=TE2/0/1
manufacturer=Digium
devicetype=Wildcard TE220 (4th Gen)

Traffic Crossover
Hi all,
I am having this problems for a while and could not figure out the cause of
this.
I have FreePBX version of Asterisk (1.8.11-cert) routing calls to 10
different FreePBX servers (same version of Asterisk) depending on the
destination numbers. The incoming calls into the main Asterisk server with
4 x Sangoma A102 E1 card are coming through a SS7 link from an ISUP
interface of a

Re: [Asterisk-biz] SS7 and Asterisk solution
When are 'we' going to have this solution Steve? :) You keep talking
about it, and we keep asking when it's going to come about.
I know myself, SS7 will be a make or break for our continued use of
Asterisk. Even if we had some price indications would be good, and/or a
timeframe?
Don't want to seem pushy, but it's been on the cards for quite some time
now.

Get SS7 Hangup Code as Asterisk variable.
I'm making outbound calls by placing call files in the asterisk outgoing
directory. At times, the call would be hung by SS7 without even
attempting (due to error in the outgoing number). I get the following on
console:
-- Attempting call on ss7/9297210213 for s at croom:1 (Retry 1)
-- Sent IAM CIC=22 ANI=9134904821 DNI=9297210213 RNI=

I've deployed Asterisk before using ISDN connection, but never with SS7.
Can anyone explain me the different between using ISDN and SS7 ? What need I do
now to change to use SS7 ?.
Many thanks,

SS7 E1 cards
Hi,
I'm looking into support for SS7 and I found an article
(http://www.openss7.com/news13022002.html) which says that OpenSS7
supports Linux Support Inc's T400P-SS7 Quad T1 and E400P-SS7 Quad E1 PCI
interface cards. It also says that Linux Support Inc is the primary
sponsor of Asterisk. However I cannot find these cards on the Asterisk
hardware page
