Effectively using a telco Type 102 Milliwatt Test line with ztmon itor -v to set txgain/rxgain in zapata?
I am trying to obtain optimum gain settings for a bank of analog lines connected to a channel bank. My telco has provided a 'Type 102' test line to use for incoming level calibration. This is functionally equivalent to app Milliwatt(), but provides tone from the CO inwards. Question is, how should one use this a 0dbm test source with ztmonitor? Am I correct in understanding that a 0dbm

Calibrating both RX and TX gain?
Hello! I'm having an echo problem with a TDM card. The TDM card is being fed by a channel bank just 12 or so feet away. When you put an analog handset on the line, both the RX and TX volume seem to be just fine. However, when I use the TDM card, I have to have an rxgain of 13.5, and even then, the audio is relatively quiet. I'm also getting echo on these lines, so I have turned

sangoma card rx/tx gain level
Hey Guys! We had echo issue before so we replaced old PRI card with Sangoma A102D HWEC. Now my question is i set rx/txgain level 0.0 default do i need to touch this value or default is best. I have read on google and people say it should around 14844 on ztmonitor for rx/tx level same. I just use milliwatt and test my default 0.0 rx/tx level and it come around 4600. Do you think i need to make

No incoming audio on Dahdi channels (TDM410P)
A previous issue has popped up and once again I'm out of ideas. During the evenings it seems that the TDM channels will spike (dahdi_monitor) and will refuse to listen for audio of any type, this includes DTMF. The only resolution I know of is to stop Asterisk and restart the dahdi service, but that's not a solution. All channels look like this, even the FXS. [root at asterisk Hardware]#

Audio distorted local side only
I'm not sure where to check next, so I'm reaching out to those that know this stuff better than I. I've got Asterisk up and running, but I've still got an occasional audio issue. Once in a while (maybe 1 out of every 20-30 calls), the audio becomes heavily distorted, but only on the local side. The party on the other end says the audio is fine. We can hear them, although

Test Line
Hi, Somewhere in the Wiki I read that the best way to adjust the rxgain and txgain is to dial a "type 102 milliwatt test line". This line is usually found in xxx-958-nnnn or xxx-959-nnnn ranges. I'm in area code 323 in Los Angeles. Does anybody know the test number here?? Thanks, -N

Rx/Tx fine tuning of analogue card to PRI card - Am I right with my theory?
Hi Everyone, I want to fine tune the Rx and Tx gain on an analogue Sangoma card by dialing into another server that is running on Sangoma PRI card (both services on Bell network). [mwatt1004khz] exten => s,1,Answer exten => s,n,PlayTones(1004/1000) exten => s,n,Wait(300) If I match the Rx/Tx numbers on both sides by monitoring "ztmonitor X -vv" am I right with my theory of

TDM410P with EC doesn't detect DTMF after being on for ~1 hour
Now that I have a new card and my echo problems are 'mostly' solved, I have another major issue to deal with. After about an hour or so the card will stop detecting DTMF tones on incoming calls. dahdi_monitor shows the following: [root at asterisk wctdm24xxp]# dahdi_monitor 1 -v Visual Audio Levels. -------------------- Use chan_dahdi.conf file to adjust the gains if needed. Clarifying RX and TX gains
I've done gain tuning as per the info I've found online. I've got my RXGain set so my volumes list as about 14,800 (using a milliwatt test number and ztmonitor -vv). However listening to the line now, this sounds too loud to me. The person speaking sounds fine, but I've now got a large amount of background hiss coming thru. In order to get the "recommended"

Echo calibration with ztmonitor and a testlinefrom a telco
The value of 14800 is correct. I had issues with my TDM400p with 2x FXO's installed and using the Xlite client. I could not get the echo stable at the initial call. Changing to a hard phone made everything work correctly. I still had problems with the off location I called, but mostly worked great. To see the TX gain I created an extension with the Milliwatt command attached to it and called

rxgain and txgain in zapata.conf
Hi, Do you have some experience with the "best" values for those parameters in youyr particular case? I mean the best raport between sound level in both direction and echo cancellation. For me, the best result I can get is with: rxgain=10 txgain=15 ... the sound level is good, but the echo is a little bit to strong for my taste. Something interesting is that if I put a txgain value

txgain for SIP?
Is there an option txgain for SIP in Asterisk? My users all complain that their other parties think that they are way too silent even though they all have their mic volume all the way up and also enabled the 'mic boost' option. This happens with all the clients that we're using and also with different model headsets, so my last hope is txgain for SIP. Thanks Christoph

rx/txgain per device?
Is it possible to adjust the rx/txgain values per device? I have a mishmash of different phones (soft phones & sip hard phones) and each of them sound different w/the same rx/txgain settings. Is there any way to adjust these via asterisk? I'm having the most difficulty with sjphone & these zultys zip2 phones, vol is right on one, but way off on the other. Thx again...

Test Number in the UK?
In recent times I have seen a few posts which describe how to use ztmonitor to set the rxgain and txgain parameters on an FXO channel. The starting point is to call a '102 milliwatt test number' Does anybody know of such a facility in the UK? Ian -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Obscure * command and audio questions
A few bits and pieces that I hope someone here has answers for. Basically, I'm in the audio business and I hope to get better control of the audio performance in *. 1. I seem to recall seeing a tonelist parameter that allowed tones to be set at levels other than 0, for instance !1000/500@-20 would generate 1 kHz for half a second at -20 dBm0. But this doesn't work and I can't

Intermittent Low volume
Just looking for some ideas here... Single office with 1.4.26.2 - Frontend & 1.4.26.2 w/sangoma A108 Gateway I have been getting a few complaints about "caller cant hear me" or "I cant hear the caller" I've listened to the recordings and can verify what they are complaining about, with this being said, most calls are fine. I know there are alot of issues that can
