asterisk 1.8.9.2 channel.c: Channel allocation failed
Hello List! My Asterisk stopped making SIP-calls today, I could call from external, and saw Call coming in over PRI, but calling the SIP/Device wont work. I saw 5 open channels - all chan_spy. Only a restart helped. In the messages-file i found from yesterday: [Mar 4 17:28:01] NOTICE[25769] app_chanspy.c: Attaching SIP/209-0000170fto SIP/210-0000170e [Mar 4 17:29:38] NOTICE[25790]

Asterisk on Debian Lenny with timerfd
Hello All, I'm sure this has been talked about and based on some searching of archives, I'd discovered that to be able to use timerfd, one needs to have a kernel version >=2.6.27? Is this true? If yes, then is there anyone who's got it working in Lenny 5.0.7? Do I need to download and build the linux kernel (currently at 2.6.37) from scratch and get access to the TimerFD source?

is res_timing_timerfd module stable in 1.8?
hi: my current system is 1.6.2. I have dahdi hardware card. I must disable res_timing_timerfd module or sometimes phone calls would become silent suddenly. I don't know the situation in 1.8. I heard that timing is still a problem in 1.8. should I keep using "res_timing_dahdi" or I can use "res_timing_timerfd" to get some benefit if I upgrade to 1.8? thank a lot for

asterisk and Hyper-V
Thank you for a quick answer, Dmitry! We have tried the settings you suggested but nothing helped. The machine is running 4.4.0-104 kernel, 4 cores, Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v3 @ 2.40GHz, clocksource is hyperv_clocksource_tsc_page, timing module is res_timing_timerfd.so. We have also tried to set 50% Reserve - no luck :(. ??, 18 ???. 2017 ?. ? 10:49, Dmitriy Ermakov <demonihin at

Best timing source?
I am currently having a voice quality problem with one of our Asterisk servers. We have checked the network and we have found no problems that could cause the voice to sound cracked and with small interruptions. I am looking at the timing source for Asterisk and it is currently using timerfd even though we have an E1 card installed. Is timerfd better than dahdi? Any recommendations to

SKYPE - Authenticate incoming call automatically
Hi All, After getting licences for Skype for asterisk a while ago I finally got around to setting up a server with two channels and setting up a bcp on the skype end. The idea behind this is the following: Users can dial into the PBX, get authenticated and only after authentication get access to internal PBX extensions. I CAN do this with a PIN, no sweat, but from a user perspective it

asterisk and Hyper-V
I am using CentOS 6, kernel 3.10 from elrepo.org kernels (3.10.102-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64). Asterisk version is 11.21.2 and Asterisk 13.X.X (I can't get it's version now). Is it possible that your network switches' interfaces which are connected to Hyper-V Server are 100% busy? It is possible that my installation works well because my Hyper-V server is not high-load server so it has

Asterisk 1.6.x timing API
Folks, I've read some sources claiming that Asterisk does not need DAHDI for timing in 1.6.1. Is this true? Searching the web, all I can find is pages celebrating the fact but no actual documentation on which version it was introduced in and how one would go about configuring an external time source. I'm having a devil of a job trying to compile DAHDI on a hosted Xen VM and thought I

Dial your phone and contact phone from within outlook?
I am wondering what the best solution is for initiating a call from Outlook Contacts. I imagine something that would start the call from the outlook card (or similar) and then dial the user's extension and the contact's phone number and place them in a bridge. Anyone use something like this? Travis Ryan Director of Information Technologies Oscar Winski Company 2407 North Ninth Street
