RE: What does it take?
Tim - My recommendation to you is to get Asterisk@Home. It sets up the Linux and most of the Asterisk for you. Up and running in under two hours. I personally did not want to dig into all the crap in Linux and a lot of the Asterisk setup, so this was a great option for me. Now I'm exploring more about Asterisk without all the pain of having to do it all up-front.

Finally got everything up and run with the help of Manny Wise last night. So I am setting up my digital assistant and getting down to the task I need this box to perform the most. I need to have a custom app that I can call that will take me pressing 2 at the menu and have it transfer the call to a offsite phone number utilizing my Zap Trunk. AGI Script to interact with ACCESS Databse a nd Set CID info on the fly.
lol just posted this yesterday, it's for any ODBC DSN so Access or SQL or an Excel spreadsheet, as long as it's set as a DSN. This will work with outgoing Caller ID as well, it's just how you set it up in your dialplan. If you want I can email you the .agi since email will undoubtedly mangle the script. hth. HOWTO: A simple AGI application to modify incoming CallerID on the fly using

Please review my smb.conf
Hi Rowland > (just a thought, you have given the Samba server a fixed ipaddress, > hostname and domain name, haven't you ?). The Pi has a fixed IP address and hostname. I see: $ cat /etc/hostname RPHS $ cat /etc/resolv.conf # Generated by resolvconf nameserver 208.67.222.123 nameserver 208.67.220.123 So the DNS seems arbitrary. Modules, namespaces and variables
Hi there, After quite a long time out of puppet business I''m back, and the first thing I''m doing is rephrasing my puppet manifests using modules. I started with the NTP module (a classic, I guess). I have (more or less) the following: In modules/ntp/manifests/init.pp: $ntp_localtime = "/usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Madrid" class ntp { ... some stuff using the

Asterisk not receiving call from VPN address
Hi, We have a Kamailio and Asterisk cluster, both machines being on a real 103.x IP address and also on a 172.x OpenVPN address. The problem is that when Kamailo receives a call from the VPN and forwards it to the Asterisk server on it's 103.x address, Asterisk never sees the call. If Kamailio receives a call from the VPN and forwards the call to the Asterisk server on it's 172.x

Error in Second Samba Domain Controller
So a little background, in my domain we have 2 domain controllers, the main (A Windows Server 2008 R2), and a secondary that is was recently migrated from Server 2003 R2 to Samba. Both domain controllers are offsite so we use OpenVpn to connect them, dns is set to the samba domain controller then the Windows server, this is due that the samba domain controller is up 24/7 while the Windows is only

SIP OPTIONS dialog not understood
I'm (still) trying to get my Asterisk box talking to a Metaswitch. All I'm getting is a "heartbeat" of OPTIONS messages coming from the Metaswitch which my Asterisk box replies to. The exchange looks like: <-- SIP read from 172.b.c.d:5060: OPTIONS sip:metaswitch@206.b.c.d:5060;transport=udp SIP/2.0 Via: SIP/2.0/UDP

When I try: telnet localhost 143 this is what shows up in the maillot: Apr 2 21:06:57 ip-172-31-24-2 dovecot: auth: Fatal:

Systematically biased count data regression model
Dear all, I am attempting to explain patterns of arthropod family richness (count data) using a regression model. It seems to be able to do a pretty good job as an explanatory model (i.e. demonstrating relationships between dependent and independent variables), but it has systematic problems as a predictive model: It is biased high at low observed values of family richness and biased low at
