Polycom 501 Phones Rebooting
Hello, At one of our locations, we have started to see Polycom 501s (running 1.6.7 firmware) randomly reboot. We have taken packet traces of the phones to determine if there is something odd in the Layer 2 or 3 of the network that might cause it, and have not seen anything strange. There are no errors on the ports. This appears to be affecting POE powered as well as AC powered phones. The Polycom

Polycom + Voicemail + Display message envelope in LCD
Hi folks, A user here has asked if we can display the current voicemail message's envelope (date/time/caller id of message) in the LCD of the Polycom phones we use (430 & 501). I realize this is somewhat like the many caller-id-after-the-fact threads, but I figured maybe someone had solved this a different way. Has anyone been able to do this, via caller ID, messaging, the mini-browser

More Polycom IP501 questions
I am starting to get the hang of this, I think. These are more implementation questions; "is this a proper/good way of using/doing this" kind of questions. The IP501 has three line appearances. I have learned that shared line appearances cannot place calls, only receive them. They're indicated by the "half telephone" icon beside the button. Private line

Rebooting ALL polycom phones
Hi, I know that if you have Polycom phones properly configured, you can use "sip notify polycom-check-cfg SIP_REGISTRATION_ID" to have the phones download the new configuration from the provisioning server and reboot. Is there anyway to send the same command to all peers (let's say I had 50 polycom phones that I wanted to reboot)? Thanks, Mike -------------- next part

MWI not working on Polycom Phones
Hi All - I'm running version SIP version 1.3.4 on various IP300, IP500, and IP600 Polycom phones. I'm having a tough time with MWI. I thought I remembered somebody on the list saying that they had it working, but I can't find it in the archives now. I have all the phones configured for MWI as specified in the WIKI: ipdmid.cfg: up.oneTouchVoiceMail="1"

Polycom not updating the directory list
Hi, I have a strange problem with all of our Polycom 550 & 650 phones. I am running a TFTP server on my Asterisk server and option 66 Boot Host pointing to Asterisk on my DHCP server. The auto-provisioning is working because the phones are registering correctly with their extension. If I change the MAC.cfg file to another extension and reboot the phone, it will reflect the new ext. The

Scanning the group it looks like there may be slightly more

Newbie Polycom: DHCP/boot server supporting 2 models of phones
I have a question about DHCP and boot server supporting more than 1 model of Polycom phones. According to Polycom "standards", Polycom phone boots up to get a DHCP address and at the same time getting a boot server string (with username and password) to logon to boot server to download SIP, bootROM and etc. That is okay if there is only one type of phone (that requires a specific SIP

Semi-OT: useful things to do with XML browsers in phones
Greetings list, It seems that more and more phones these days are coming with XML mini-browsers. I'd like to have a go at developing something useful to use on them, but in all honesty, most of our customers use their phones to make and take calls and very little else. So I'm open to suggestions. What useful applications are you developing for these mini-browsers? What sort of things do

Polycom 330 + Asterisk, phone locks up. * key will do it
Hello all, We have an Asterisk server that has worked without issue for a while. Before, only Sipura and Polycom 500 series phones were used. Recently, we've added a few POE switches and 20 or so Polycom 330's. The 330's seem to lock up often. One easy way to do this is by hitting the * key. I looked thru the XML files for dialplan and what not, nothing stood out.

Polycom phones update
Hello, We have updated the Wiki page for Polycom phones: http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Polycom+Phones We posted several configuration specs as well as a link to an admin guide for the phone. We also posted a link on there to two firmware versions for download. The official Asterisk-Polycom support website should be up and live sometime in January. If anyone has anything to add

Contact Directory on Polycom IP-501 phones
I'm testing out some IP501 phones and I ran into an issue. WHen I try to add a new contact into the directory, I am not able to. A window blinks really fast but the entry isn't saved. When you exit the Contact Directory system you get a 'Busy! Please try again' window. What the heck could be going on? -- Jesse Keating GameHouse -- Systems Engineer

Polycom Phones start to break up after being up a LONG time
Has anyone else encountered this? I have a fairly large installation (~50 phones, almost all Polycom 501's and a handful of 601's. We're running into a number of phones on which the outbound voice (Polycom phone user doesn't hear any problems, but the other end does) is breaking up occasionally -- enough to be noticeable and make you say "what?". In each case, rebooting

Does anyone here who uses Polycom phones have some form of management utility for automating their setup? CID on Polycom Phones
Hi All, I have a site using Polycom 501 phones and for some reason the caller ID of the phone number is coming up as sip:<number>@<ip of server> Does anyone know why? It seems to be a Polycom thing as a Linksys phone displays the CID number as just the number. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Polycom SIP Phones On LAN can't register without WAN (Internet) Access
We are having an issue that I have been unable to figure out how to resolve. I think its related to the Polycom Phones and not the Asterisk configuration, but I'm not positive. We have several Polycom 500/501/601's on both a LAN and at employee homes. The problem we are having is if our internet connection goes down the Local LAN phones loose their connection to the Asterisk Server.

OT: Polycom IP501 and Speed Dials
Hi gang, I know this is off-topic for Asterisk, but I don't know where else to ask: I've setup a central directory.xml file for my Polycom IP501 phones with a list of all the internal extensions. None of them have <sd>1</sd> as I don't want to enable any speed dials, just have a list in each phone. However, when a phone boots, it seems to pick a random entry and put it

Maximum remote directory size in Polycom IP501
Greetings, We are trying to make our corporate directory (around 400 entries) available via TFTP to some Polycom IP501 phones. A small (~40 entries or so) file works, but the full file fails to load. Does anyone know what the upper limit on directory entries is? The size of the XML file itself is only 60K - you'd think that would all fit into the phone with no problems..... I would
