vnc servers do not run
Hi all, I have Xen 3.0.3 installed on Debian Etch 4.0. The problem I have with it is that vncservers are not run for guest domains (also Etch), nomatter I specify vfb = [ ''type=vnc'' ], or not. Does Xen 3.0.3 support vnc frame buffers, or do I have to upgrade Xen? I know that Xen 3.1 creates vncservers with no problems. Thanks _______________________________________________

using VNC with guests on virtual network
Hello, I have created a few guest domains, which use virtual network (i.e. their NIC''s sit on 192.168.122.0). It works ok, but I have to figure out how to access these machines with VNC from outside. I guess there should be some way to map dom0''s IP to the internal IP/port. Please advise. Thanks, Arik _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

Asterisk and Sheeva "wall wart".
Hey, all. I'm seriously thinking about doing the VoIP thing at home. The perfect platform seemed to be the Sheeva "wall wart" (http://www.marvell.com/products/embedded_processors/developer/kirkwood/sheevaplug.jsp). It's a cute little doohicky with USB, SD-card, Ethernet, and runs on an ARM CPU. I'd like to avoid SIP to my provider, just 'cause it's always such a

Need to find small footprint asterisk platform
Hey all, I have a potential project which calls for a very small form-factor computer like this: http://www.marvell.com/products/embedded_processors/developer/kirkwood/sheevaplug.jsp However, I am needing an FXS port integrated into a small footprint computer. Nothing larger than a WiFi router or gateway device, but the smaller the better, and able to run Asterisk with at least a spare USB port

Problems getting Dovecot to work.
Hi, having a nightmare trying to get dovecot working on my SheevaPlug (flash based ARM embedded device). I need to use virtual users, and I need to store all the mail on an external USB HDD (not in home directories which live in the limited flash space). However I can't even log in via telnet. I've followed the Wiki troubleshooting tips, and still no further forward. logging via telnet, I

SheevaPlug Development Kit
Hello everyone, I just ordered one of these: http://www.marvell.com/products/embedded_processors/developer/kirkwood/sheevaplug.jsp Just over $110 with shipping but they are expecting the price to come down quite a bit: - 1.2Ghz ARM5 - 512MB RAM - Multiple flash storage options - Gigabit ethernet - USB 2.0 - 5 watt power usage They probably won't be shipping until late March but I

[LLVMdev] Building VMKit
I tried to build VMKit on an ARM device today (a Sheevaplug - armv5te) (native, not cross compiled), and got this error: llvm[3]: Building LLVM assembly with /home/debio/build/vmkit-build/vmkit/lib/Mvm/Runtime/LLVMAssembly.ll /home/debio/build/vmkit-build/vmkit/lib/Mvm/Runtime/LLVMAssembly64.ll ExpandIntegerResult #0: 0x16fbf88: i64,ch = AtomicCmpSwap 0x16e8d84, 0x16fbf00, 0x16fc3c8,

some irritation with heteroskedasticity testing
Dear all, Trying to test for heteroskedasticity I tried several test from the car package respectively lmtest. Now that they produce rather different results i am somewhat clueless how to deal with it. Here is what I did: 1. I plotted fitted.values vs residuals and somewhat intuitively believe, it isn't really increasing... 2. further I ran the following tests bptest (studentized

[LLVMdev] Assuring ARM code quality in LLVM
Hi all, I was recently investigating the build bot infrastructure and noticed that the arm-linux target is failing for quite a long time. I believe that it means ARM code is not executed all that often in LLVM tests, is that correct? We were wondering what kind of support we could give to make sure ARM code is correct and don't regress, specially before releases (I know it's a bit late

Xen, Asterisk & ISDN: Timing Problems
Hi, is anybody running asterisk on a xen domU and can give an opinion on the following: I have delegated a FritzCard and a HFC card to my domU and installed an asterisk setup that was running on the same isdn hardware but on a dedicated machine flawlessly. I experienced what I believed to be timing problems: sometimes calls on the Fritzcard did not seem to "reach" asterisk, when

Matching with Layer7 vs. IPP2P
Hi, can anybody comment on the cost of matching with IPP2P vs. Layer7. Also, does a iptables rule with more complicated matching mechanism also slow down processing if all the packets are matched before they reach the rule. I.e. is the mere existence of a potentially costly rule already slowing down processing or only if packets are actually processed by it? Thanks very much in advance.

VoIP Buster stopped working?
Hi, I was successfully using VoIP Buster via IAX2 for several weeks now. Yesterday/today it spontaneously stopped working. Using the "real" client the connection works well though. Anybody else experiencing this problem? Or asked differently: Is there anybody for whom it is still working? Can anybody tell me what the problem could be from this: -- Executing

Ring more than two isdn phones simultaneously
I am using a HFC-S card in nt mode with zaphfc driver to connect an internal isdn bus. I would like to signal an incoming call on, let's say, 4 phones. Right now I use: Dial(Zap/g1/21&Zap/g1/22&Zap/g1/24&Zap/g1/23&Zap/g1/29,,t) where g1 are my two isdn channels provided by HFC-S card an the 21,22,etc my internal numbers. When the command is executed however, only the

DTMF auto detection bug?
Hi, it seems that there is a bug in asterisk's dtmf mode autodetection. Assume following sip.conf: [sipprovider] disallow=all allow=g726 dtmfmode=auto DTMF does not work. It seems rfc2833 mode is chosen despite it being obvious that this cannot work! The following configuration is necessary to get DTMF to work: dtmfmode=info In my opinion, this behaviour is counter-intuitive. I am using

Implementing a ISDN home PBX
Hi, I would like to implement a inexpensive home PBX with Asterisk. I have an internal ISDN bus with 6 ISDN phones. I now thought, I connect a Fritz card to my Mehrgerateanschluss (Point-to-Multipoint) supplied by my provider and a second Fritz card to the internal bus. Will this work? Thanks for the help, Arik

zaphfc syslog flooding
Hi, my zaphfc is flooding my syslog with two messages (even without asterisk running). Is this "normal"?: -------------------------------------------------- zaphfc: bchan rx fifo not enough bytes to receive! (z1=1360, z2=1353, wanted 8 got 7), probably a buffer overrun. zaphfc: dropped audio (z1=2712, z2=2695, wanted 8 got 17, dropped 9). With Asterisk running (asterisk -vvvvvgc)
