Voicemail to Text Transcription(was: Re: [asterisk-dev] Voicemail to text translation)
(This subthread is more appropriate to -users than to -dev, so it is crossposted only to mark its transition. Please reply on the -user list only.) What are the cheapest prices for (humans) transcribing voicemail to text as a service? The absolute cheapest, regardless of (known) quality - the quality only has to compete with (cheaper) automated transcription, which is abysmal quality. On Wed,

1.6.2 : global vars not read/set after #include w/ globals
I found out that the [globals] section in extensions.conf is ignored if an #include 'd file has a [globals] section. Is this intended? In this particular case, the #include 'd file has a number of contexts for googlevoice. I'd put various googlevoice variables in there to use in all those contexts. Once I did that all of the global variables set in extensions.conf were ignored.

xmpp priority setting and GoogleVoice
I just wanted to send out some information that will hopefully help others. I don't know, maybe I'm the only one that's been having problems with this. I've been pulling my hair out for a while wondering why Google would not send my incoming calls to my Asterisk box. The calls would just roll to voice mail and no packets ever reached Asterisk. This has happened on two separate

howto copy a voicemail message to another machine ?
My asterisk server is in the cloud. Figuring out how to send an email is too much brain damage. So i can't use the email feature that's built into voicemail. What I want to do is execute a remote command with the voicemail as an argument. The remote machine command would email the message. I'm thinking of: same =>n,VoiceMail(vm,u) same =>n,System(ssh myserver "emailVM

Can gtalk.conf work with multiple GoogleVoice numbers?
Hello. I would like to configure Asterisk to accept incoming calls from two different GoogleVoice numbers via gtalk and jabber. I'm running Asterisk 1.8.3.2 and I can get one number working just fine. However, I can't figure out how to modify the gtalk.conf file shown on the Asterisk wiki site to work with two different jabber profiles. Do all incoming GoogleVoice calls have to go

using google for vm transcripts
I'm pretty impressed by how well (comparatively) google voice does in doing voice mail transcripts. So I'd like to have google do my local voice mail, and then email the transcript. So I set up extensions.conf: exten =>s,n,Dial(${House_Phones},36) ; this should be six rings exten =>s,n,Dial(Gtalk/<my-user-name>/${<my-gv-number>{@voice.google.com) but I get this

asterisk a "less secure app" on google ??
To connect to google voice with xmpp, I've had to turn on the "less secure apps" switch. > You recently changed your security settings so that your Google Account xxxxxxx at gmail.com is no longer protected by modern security standards. > > Please be aware that it is now easier for an attacker to break into your account. Asterisk 11 & GoogleVoice/Motif
I'm currently running Asterisk 11.2.1 and I've noticed that when asterisk has been up for a while (usually about a day), outgoing calls through GoogleVoice fail to complete. I hear it ringing on my end but the caller never hears the phone ring. A simple restart of Asterisk seems to clear it up for another day or so. Has anyone else noticed this? -- Chris -------------- next part

voice recognition voicemail to email
I fuzzily recall someone posting a script that shuffled off voicemails to Google for conversion to text that could then be emailed. Anyone have any luck with that? Anything new out there? j

Premature end of script headers; dispatch.cgi - ok
Hi, I''m getting the dreaded "Premature end of script headers: dispatch.cgi" message on my production server. Before I list all the things that I tried, let me mention that I already have a Rails app working on this server (installed by somebody else). First app is accessible at: http://mydomain.com/cwps and it all works. Second app is accessible at: http://mydomain.com/robo

google voice calling dial plan question.
When a caller calls my google voice phone number, I must answer, wait and press one to accept. Sometimes even that does not work. I have tried a few different things to get asterisk to place the call in an answered state and send the DTMF 1 with the Dial macro. I found Malcom Davenports wiki page regarding Google calling which has been very helpful in troubleshooting the issue.

Today on VUC, Dan York on Google Voice + SIP
Hi, Today at 12 Non EDT, Dan York will be with us to talk about the recent on and off moments of Google Voice SIP URI calling. Like Skype + Asterisk (or any SIP), Google Voice and SIP compose the other shoe waiting to drop. We're following this with interest. So GV turned on SIP URI and then a few days later, turned it off. Why? Did the geeks (like us) jump on this too quickly or too heavily?
