odd issue with the with SIP over VPN
I've run into a odd issue where inbound calls to the SIP client work fine, but outbound from the SIP client do not. The path between the client and the server is as below. N900 SIP client <-- OpenVPN --> Asterisk The version of Asterisk in question is 1.6.0.18. Any suggestions? -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... > Problem with this is client needs to listen to the call recordings and my interface will only display .wav or .mp3 so they will moan if they have to wait until the next day for today's recordings If you're up to writing a bit of shell script, and are running on Linux, you could automate the conversion process so that it happens as soon as the recording is completed. Look at the

[headset/mic] Volume too low + echo in *
Hello, I'm having the following problem when using a headset on XP connected to an on-board Realtek soundcard on an AsusTek M2N68-AM Plus motherboard: - Using any sound recorder (Windows', Audacity, XLite), the level is just too low when speaking at a conversational level, even with the microphone level pumped all the way up (line displayed totally flat in Recorder)

OpenVPN tunnel and one-way audio - Do I still need a SIP proxy? (bruce bruce)

As far as I know, OpenVPN doesn't do higher-level-protocol rewriting of any sort. It just provides the "bit pipe" through the tunnel. I'd suggest several other

USB headset mic input
Hello! Did some search about this issue of mine ,and didn't find anything that helps me solve this issue. I dont have mic input from my usb headset in wine. (I tryed 2 different headset and even analog mic in). The mic works natively with alsa, I can record sound from this mic. But I can't seem to make it work under wine. I added the headset in .alsarc file and I see the headset when I

Winecfg does not notice my headphones - only mic (USB Headset) / No 'Mixer Devices' in Alsa - only OSS
Hi, I've been struggling to get everything going fine for a while now. Finally I can talk clearly and hear people. Problem is it was coming through my speakers connected to an external USB Sound Card; if I set it to come through my USB Headset, it comes through speakers anyway. I unplugged USB sound card and restarted computer. Now I tried again. This time I simply do not hear sound.

In search of Headset Compatible Analog Phone
I have been looking for analog phones for my * system that work with our plantronic amplifiers and headsets. The problem I am having with the Aastra phones that I have purchased (PT-390, 9116, 9120, 8009 ), is that they don't seem to stay hung up unless you physically hang up the handset everytime you finish a call. I have even purchased the Aastra 9120 which sais it has on-hook

USB headset recommendations
I'd like to get some feedback from users of USB headsets as to what they like/dislike about the unit they own (manufacturer/model number). I'm looking to buy some. Is there already a thread somewhere or a review (I tried to find one with no luck), discussing this topic? Any advantages/disadvantages to using a USB headset over a regular headset slaved off the internal sound card?

Delaying SIP disconnect after incoming call hangs up?
I'm looking for a way to delay the disconnection of a call to a SIP extension (or pad it with silence) for a few seconds, after an incoming call to that extension hangs up. Rationale: I have an Asterisk PBX (current 1.4.20 codebase), with a Leadtek BVP8051S ATA hooked to an analog phone which has a built-in answering machine. Incoming SIP connections to the appropriate extension are dialed

OT: pinout for "standard" telephone headset required.?
Hi, I have a Cisco 7960G phone for which I know the pinout of the headset socket. I have a couple of standard telephone headsets which I do not know the pinout of. I'd like to connect the two. If I have the pinout of a normal/standard headset I can rewire the ones I have to match the cisco. Thanks Mike

OT: High Quality Wireless Headset for Cisco IPPhones and *
Tom - here are a few suggestions Plantronics 510SL Bluetooth - they make a bundle that comes with a Bluetooth transceiver and a handset lifter. This is nice if you have users that already have Bluetooth headsets for their mobile phones, as it allows you to sync with their office phone as well. http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/cat29880043/cat2 9880054/prod5460016

Bluetooth headset in handsfree modewith SJPhoneorX-lite
I am able to pickup, hangup, and flash, using the buttons on the phone with all of the soft clients and both of the headsets I mentioned below. I don't believe I had to change anything on the client side, just had to get the ctp (cordless telephone profile) working in the bluetooth stack, which was a pita. I struggled with the same issue...I could use the headset, but that's not very handy
