Multiple Channel Variables with AMI Originate
Hi guys I seem to be having a problem, I don't know if it's a bug or whether I'm just doing it incorrectly. I want to set about 3 channel variables when I originate a call via AMI. All the documentation I have found says to do it like this: Variable: variable1=value|variable2=value|variable3=value However when I do this it runs them all together and I end up with:

AMI buffering event output?
Hi, I'm seeing weird behavior with AMI where no events are output until some input is detected (can be an empty line), at which time all the buffered output is spewed out at once. I am maintaining multiple Asterisk installations, and with one installation I have run into a weird buffering problem with AMI. The version is 1.6.1.11 in this particular case, which I am running at multiple

How to initiate a two-party call from within Asterisk
The desired result is that user A's phone rings; when he picks it up, user B is dialled, and user A's channel is connected to that. (This is to be a back-end for a web-based address book.)

Data transfer
Hi, im a student and we are devloping a training sytem for radio operators (for ships, police, ...) at our university. So far we are using a simple own protocol for speech and data transmission, works well at a Lan. Now we are looking for a way to connect the devices over the internet. I did some very quick testing with Asterisk and PJSIP [1] and it looks very promising. Apart from the voice

Odd one way RTP on SIP to SIP calls
Hi everyone, I'm having an odd problem with one way RTP on SIP to SIP calls. I have two SIP servers, one is an Asterisk and the remote SIP server is a Nortel SIP server. When a call comes to the Nortel server through the PSTN and is routed to the Asterisk, audio is fine. Two way RTP and no problems. When a SIP client registered on the Nortel server calls the Asterisk, the Asterisk

Why doesn't Asterisk project document certain important features of Asterisk officially?
Hi Everyone, I am wondering why documentation of some of the vital parts of Asterisk is hosted on voipinfo.org (unreliable is some parts) and not on asterisk.org? For example the list of AMI events are not well documented and one has to guess which version supports which event. The documentation file for AMI for Asterisk 1.4 is really only a startup guide and it doesn't even provide a full

AMI interface problem
I installed version 1.6.0.3-rc1 and my AMI application stopped working. I reinstalled 1.6.0.1 and it worked again. I reinstalled 1.6.0.3-rc1 and it stopped. Looks like a problem in the software to me. Following the same steps using the same code for the AMI and conf files for * I get bad behavior in 1.6.0.3-rc1 and good behavior in 1.6.0.1. I have this action: Action: Originate Channel:

Error When Using Postgresql Schema With Realtime Sip
I am using asterisk 1.6.1.6 and have been setting up a system to use a Postgresql database as the realtime DB via the ODBC route. I have got extensions and voicemail working but am having trouble with SIP The problem seems to be with using a schema. undocumented change in expression handling in 1.8 beta
Hi. I hava a variable and in 1.6 I set the string variable to "" and it got the null string. In 1.8, it gets the quotes, I have to set it to nothing at all to make it get the null value. -- Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is: How do you spend it? Feature Request: GotoIfTimeWithOffset
Hi, When I was testing an IVR, I realized I miss a function I would call GotoIfTimeWithOffset. Today, this IVR is using function AEL GotoIfTime in several places. The problem is if it's 11pm at the moment I'm testing this IVR, I can't nicely test the 9am or 2pm branch. GotoIfTimeWithOffset would get 2 incoming arguments : - the first is a time range (just like GotoIfTime), - the

Attended Transfer with REFER
Hi guys, I am wondering (and have been unable to find out thus far) whether Asterisk sets some special channel variables or something when a call is transfered with the REFER method. Basically, I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to somehow get a transferred call back to the transferrer (as it is done with the built-in atxfer) after X seconds (or an unsuccessful attempt). Using a

mapping of disconnect reasons
Hi All, Is there a way to change the mappings of disconnect reasons to certain SIP messages? E.G. I need to change the mapping for SIP 402 ?Payment Required? from 16 (normal termination) like it is in 1.4.24 to 21 (call rejected) as defined in RFC 3398. For me this is a big issue because my dial plan will look for alternative termination in the event of network error (e.g. reason 3 or 21 which is
