Strange DNAT problems with shorewall 1.4.8
I''ve had some issues with my network, and I''ve had to reconfigure my Gibraltar CD. It runs shorewall 1.4.8, and I have a 2-interface setup, so I downloaded the relevant files from the install page. Masq and such works, but I''m having a problem with my port forwarding. It works for port 22, but it doesn''t seem to work for any other port. I''ve turned

Spectralink 8002
Hello, I hope this isn't too off topic, but I'm attempting to set up a Spectralink 8002 Wifi phone with our Asterisk installation, and seem to be running into a brick well (more of a wall than others that have posted their experiences). My problem is that the phone boots, associates with the wireless, grabs an IP (tried static too - same thing), contacts the TFTP server for firmware, then

Problems with request.remote_ip
Hello everyone, I am trying to use request.remote_ip in my application to log a user''s IP address because I have been having a lot of abuse issues. basically when a user logs I simply call user.update_attribute(:last_ip, request.remote_ip). The problem is that for some reason a lot of people that have recently logged in still have NULL listed as their last_ip in the database, even

v2.0 configuration parsing
I'm trying to figure out how exactly v2.0 should be parsing configuration files. The most annoying part is if it should always just "use whatever comes first in config" or try some kind of a "use most specific rule". The "most specific" kind of makes more sense initially, but then you start wondering how to handle e.g.: 1) User logs in to imap from 192.168.0.1.

Page() bumps user out of a call
Hello all, I'm having a problem with my intercom function that I use for under-chin paging. I'm running 1.6.2.13 on this server, and we use Linksys SPA-942's for our general phones. I have a global defined which has all the SIP channels concatenated together - this is ${ALL-PAGE-EXTS}. The problem comes when a user is on the line, and someone else uses the intercom function to page

Metric label values truncated when using OpenMetrics endpoint
Hi Jeff, Thanks for your reply! Regarding grouping by remote address, I understand and for now I'll keep a close eye. Maybe it's an option to group by /24 for ipv4 and /64 for IPv6? We currently do that based on the logs but the OpenMetrics endpoint seem a lot easier. A slight hijack of the original question: but I tried to log only IP addresses (+ result) of failed login attempts but

Help - custom vpopmail
Hi, First, I'm not sure if dovecot should alter this, but it seems vpopmail writes the IP into the 'remote_ip' field instead of the auth type. Dovecot still writes the auth type.? I want both. So I modified my vpopmail install to write an additional field into the lastauth table.? My custom vpopmail writes the remote IP into remote_ip, and the auth type into a 'type'

Metric label values truncated when using OpenMetrics endpoint
Hi, Recently we upgraded to Dovecot 2.3.11.3 and configured an example metric like this: metric imap_command { event_name = imap_command_finished group_by = cmd_name tagged_reply_state user remote_ip } And enabled the OpenMetrics listener like this: service stats { inet_listener http { port = 5000 } } While the result is great, I noticed that some metrics are being truncated

LDAP auth problems "unknown user"
Hi, I am setting up a dovecot instance to host a bunch of virtual domains, with ldap backing for auth. I am using a single hostname for test purposes, with a couple of entries in the diectory. If I use auth binds I get a result, but this does not suit the end purpose of the server. If I use ldapsearch with the same base, search filter, and credentials as the ldap auth config I get the correct

Secure? Samba over internet
I'd like comments (suggestions, improvements, messages that start with "you moron you forgot that. . .") on the following horrible dirty kludge to make a (nearly, with any luck) un-hackable set of shares available to specific users on the internet. On the Server, initially all packets bound for port 139 are rejected as the default policy. The server is connected to the internet full
