Asterisk 1.8.13 / res_fax / res_fax_digium
We are using res_fax_digium with a Sangoma PRI card on asterisk 1.8.13 The docs at http://docs.digium.com/FAX/fax_for_asterisk_admin_manual.pdf indicate v34 is supported, but when I enable it I get the message "res_fax_digium.c:1624 dgm_fax_new: V.34 not supported, will be ignored." Is v34 only supported with SpanDSP? Also, the res_fax.conf.sample does not indicate v34 as a valid

Fax for Asterisk download selector broken?
In what appears to be the most current documentation of FFA I'm directed to http://www.digium.com/en/docs/FAX/faa-download.php However the download selector utility found there "ain't working". Specifically, none of the drop lists appear to be populated (in any browser, on any platform), thereby preventing any actual 'selection'. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there

asterisk-gplonly dependency in asterisk-addons RPM
It seems that asterisk-addons and one or more of Digium's licensed modules such as res_fax_digium have a conflict that doesn't seem to be documented anywhere I can find. In a nutshell, asterisk14-addons-core has a fake provide for asterisk-gplonly : # # core subpackage # %package core Summary: Asterisk-addons core package. AMI status events with res_fax_spandsp.so
Is anyone else using the AMI with res_fax_spandsp.so for real-time status? I am working on migrating a FAX application from res_fax_digium.so to res_fax_spandsp.so. I have noticed that the spandsp module generates far fewer AMI status events than the Digium module and the generated events contain less information. For example when sending a fax there is no longer an event for every page. There

res_fax_digium and T.38 error correction
Hello, i just had some fax abortions because of some packet loss. so i startet to examine in the pcap recording from the res_fax_digium, if the T.38 EC mode redundancy was really used. So i watched into it, and compared it with a t.38 pcap from spandsp (same asterisk setup, but with app_fax) and i see differences in t38.error_recovery (error-recovery: secondary-ifp-packets) With spandsp here are

res_fax_digium.so crashing
Since digium is apparently blind to users of their Free Fax for Asterisk, does anyone have advice on how to report a crashing problem with res_fax_digium and Asterisk 1.8.2 ? I have detailed logs/reports and a backtrace ready, but I have no idea who can help. -- Jeremy Kister http://jeremy.kister.net./

Still on spandsp/app_fax and T.38
This message is pointed directly to Steve Underwood. I tought it would not be nice to directly email him with a question that interests a good part of the Asterisk community, so here it is. :) Steve, remember a few days ago when we discussed about issues on Asterisk 1.6.1.13 and T.38 fax reception? Well I opened an issue on Mantis (https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=16756) and turns out it

Fax Configuration
What is the best way for me to setup Fax Capability with VOIP only. I have a Asterisk Server hosted on the internet without a modem. I'm using Flowroute, which is working awesome, for VOIP calls. I only have a SIP Phone at home and two Printer/Scanner/Fax Printers. I'm not sure which Fax Addons or Extensions I should use for Asterisk. I'd like it to Self Detect on any line. I
