CLI file convert from alaw to g729 with TC400B transcoding card results to an empty file
Good afternoon,
I'm trying to use the CLI command file convert on an Asterisk 1.4.26 server with a TC400B transcoding card.
The transcoding card is working well for calls but I have some trouble converting sound files from alaw to g729. The command creates empty
file as you can see below...
CLI> file convert /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/fr/service_notactivated.alaw

TC400B and show transcoder
Hi All,
I have recently installed a TC400B card into a system and am trying to
get it to work. As far as I ca tell from the docco on Digiums website,
there is no config as such unless you want to enable / disable only 1
codec, otherwise by default it runs as 92 channels of either.
I have tried asterisk 1.4.9, 1.4.10 and 1.4.10.1 along with zaptel 1.4.4
and addons 1.4.2. The zaptel modules

Asterisk + TC400B - Clock Trouble
Hello all, I have a TC400B Digium card in order to deal with transcoding and
I have some trouble using it, I have a timer synchronisation problem!
I would be very grateful if you have any idea to help me?
It seems that the card is not correctly synchronised to the system because
when I speak to one side, the sound takes 5 seconds to go to the other side,
and increasing, after 30 seconds of call,

Asterisk and Digium TC400B
Greetings,
Because of the heavy load and the high expectations of an asterisk server
offered as a solution integrated with our CRM software.. we were looking
into other possibilities than software Licenses for G729 and G723 codecs..
to lower the pressure on the processor giving it more space to do more work.
We heard of a hardware (PCI CARDS) can be used with Asterisk that does the
work. And we

lots of warnings from translate.c
We have a couple of servers with asterisk 1.4.19 and zaptel 1.4.10,
acting as gateways from SIP to ISDN PRI interfaces. Each has one
Digium TE420 (with hardware echo cancellation) and one TC400B for
transcoding, in order to handle 60/90 contemporary calls in peak
hours.
In my logs there are hundreds of thousand warnigs per day like these:
transcode.c: no samples for lintoulaw

FYI, not sure if it's of use to you... but... The digium tc400b is a transcoder card that can offload upto 120 channels of transcoding for g729 <-> ulaw... It's available as PCI only, but, if that's OK, it could be an alternative to replacing your server... G729 licenses are not needed when using that card...
There have been posts by some people about having multiple CPU

transcoder card
hi folks.
i have several remote sites with total of 200 sip phones connect
to our Asterisk server. i want to minimize bandwidth usage and
thinking about getting a Digium TC400B transcoder card. what are
your experience with it? how's the quality? also if there are
120 active channels in used. will the 121 person able to make
calls? will it support more channels if i put 2 cards in the system?
