Sangnoma + Digium Bridging
I'm trying to install both a Sangnoma A102 (with echo cancellation) card and a Digium 8 port analog card with echo cancellation (Digium AEX800E) in the same server. I know I probably shouldn't have mixed vendors - lesson learned for next time. That said, I have everything working fine...except Native Bridging between the Sangnoma and Digium cards. When I do native bridging, I get a very

Rotary phone on Asterisk
I'm trying to use a couple of old Western Electric type 500 phones (desk model, rotary dial). These phones work fine, as tested with telco lines (they dial, receiver/transmitter works fine, etc). I'm running Asterisk 1.6.2.11. I can't get them to dial through Asterisk. They are connected to a Rhino channel bank which is connected to Asterisk via a Sangnoma card (T1 with echo

experience with analog channel banks in E1 land
hi, we are currently planning are large site which will migrate from an old siemens hicom pbx to asterisk. it will be a slow migration, the asterisk server will be inserted between the telco E1 and the hicom. new phones will be sip ones. the customer has several fax machines and analog phones (some of them have to be explosion-proof). around 50 analog ports in total are needed. as we are in

Integration with Toshiba Strata DK424
I'm posting here in case anyone else runs into this and needs some help. I'll probably update the voip-info Wiki pages on Toshiba integration in a bit. Asterisk 1.6 makes things a bit easier than what is on that page. I'm integrating an Asterisk server with a Toshiba Strata system at my office. Right now, it is driving some VoIP phones (Cisco ATAs with analog phones plugged into

FXS channel banks
Greetings list, I've been asked to provide a system for 200 extensions, most of which will be existing analogue POTS handsets, not IP handsets. I've not really had any experience with large channel banks in the past (since most of our deployments are strictly IP-only to the desk), so I'm at a loss as to which ones are worth looking at. If anyone's had experience using channel

Rhino channel banks
Anyone have any experience with the Rhino T1 channel bank? It looks very cost effective at around $1300 for 24 lines but I haven't seen it mentioned on the Asterisk list yet.

Noises on Batphones
Hello, The company I work for recently purchased 2 Rhino CB24s and a Rhino PCI-E R4T1. The channel banks are plugged into the R4T1, as well as 2 PRIs from our telco. The CB24s are for all internal analog phones. Most of the phones are setup in "batphone mode", which is "immediate=on" in the DAHDI config. They are set up this way because we are an outgoing call

TDM2400P FXS Only vs. T1/E1 to FXS Channel Banks
Hello All, I'm looking to get some feedback on which solution of providing FXS is going to have the best results with faxing. I'm only looking to see what method is going to provide the best digitization into Asterisk, not for transmission from Asterisk to else where. Any recommendations of specific channel banks are welcome. I will need to provide approximatly 216 FXS Ports and need

Connect many fax lines?
We have an application for Asterisk that will require connecting 144 fax ports into the system. Faxes will route externally over a PRI. The 144 ports are for local fax machines within the building. Not all will be faxing simultaneously. We just need to be able to provide ports in the building to plug in lots of fax machines. The plan is to run an Asterisk server for about 100 phones and these

Analog DID
Does anyone have any suggestions for connecting analog DID trunks? I have some small locations that will have 2 analog DID trunks each, the only solution that I can see will work will be using a channel bank and T1 card, but it will be close to $1500 to terminate these DID trunks. Was hoping someone had some experience using an ATA or TDM card and analog DID trunks. Rhino Channel Bank - $750 4

ADIT 600 "Dynamic Impedance matching"
Has anyone ever heard of this so called Dynamic Impedance matching on the ADIT 600? I called their support and they've never heard of it. We are of course having echo problems are on the far end due to digital/analog conversion on the local end using a channel bank. We have purchased an ADIT 600 and yes the complaints are "far less" however we're still getting them. While I have

Calibrating both RX and TX gain?
Hello! I'm having an echo problem with a TDM card. The TDM card is being fed by a channel bank just 12 or so feet away. When you put an analog handset on the line, both the RX and TX volume seem to be just fine. However, when I use the TDM card, I have to have an rxgain of 13.5, and even then, the audio is relatively quiet. I'm also getting echo on these lines, so I have turned

telco access ?s -- PRI, T1, POTS?
Hi guys, I'm new to the telco game and still pretty new to Asterisk, although I've been using it for a couple of months now and like most of what I see. At my office, we've got a small two extension setup w/ two Digium cards for a single FXO line and three FXS extensions, but I'm also working on designing a larger installation for a customer which will involve ~16 analog

Rhino Channel Bank or ADIT 600
I am forklifting a Merridian option 51c with 112 Nortel Digital Handsets and 400 analog units. For the analog units I have quotes for 9 ADIT 600 48 port fxs units and 17 Rhino 24 port FXS channel banks. I have used neither. Which is the best choice? The price difference is not that great. I am looking at Citelinks 24 port Handset Gateway for the Nortel Digital units. (Any other suggestions

PSTN IAX Connections / Line Banks
I was wondering two things: I am running Asterisk Current Stable. Is there a way in Asterisk or using other equipment or through the TelCO that I can make a channel bank such that say I have 3 Phone number either with the use of FXO Cards or by using 3 connections via IAX to a service that could then provide PSTN connectivity where when Line 1 is called the call is then switched and held on
