How to fix a Blue Alarm?? Line Noise?
We are having line noise issues in our Asterisk to legacy PBX integration.
All SIP calls originating from IP phones sound crystal clear. All calls that
originate from the legacy PBX (Isoetec 228) and route through the Asterisk
and out SIP have a lot of line noise.
I believe I have it pinned down to these Blue Alarm errors that I can see on
the legacy PBX side. zttool shows no alarm but when I

Comdial PBX -- can use Asterisk as VM box?
Hi! I've got a Comdial PBX that I would dearly love to replace with an
Asterisk box. However, for various reasons, it appears not to be in the
cards. Regardless of what management does, or does not, want, our
current VM solution -- some Dialogic card with a "KeyVoice" application
-- is dying. I'm 90% sure it's hardware. I'd rather shoot myself than
replace the

Legacy Toshiba integration
I have recently changed jobs and I now have to administer a Toshiba DK424. I
would like to integrate Asterisk with this Toshiba PBX. I am quite familiar
with Asterisk but I have absolutely no idea about this Toshiba. To make
matters worse the manuals for this system are missing. What I would like to
do is place Asterisk in such a way that we can extend the Voicemail boxes
and possibly add a few

Cisco 7960 phone can't leave a queue
I recently inherited an Asterisk system (PBX in a Flash, based on Asterisk 1.4 and FreePBX). The phones are mostly Cisco 7960 phones with the SIP firmware.
The Asterisk setup relies heavily on queues with dynamic agents. The problem I am having is that on SOME (but not all) the Cisco phones, the phone will not allow dialing a second *. As a result, the agent can log in to queue 600 by dialing

Asterisk analog DID with Adit 600
Hello All,
I'm trying to connect Asterisk to an Executone phone system with an
analog DID card and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what I'm
doing wrong. The Executone DID card provides battery to the telco, when
the telco wishes to dial a DID it goes off-hook, waits for a wink from
the Executone and then dials the last three digits on the number with
pulse (as opposed

Problem with DTMF 'looping' / mis-dials (X100P card)
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with * being very finicky about the length of
DTMF key-presses during menus, voicemail, etc. Basically, short (<100
ms) tones are ignored, anything between 100ms (or so) and about 300ms
is correctly detected, and anything >300ms is interpreted as multiple
presses of the same key. This is terrible for callers who are trying
to get to the correct

Asterisk Voice Mail Server and older Executone PBX..can it be done?
Does anyone have experience with melding Asterisk with an older Executone PBX?
I have a client whose existing voicemail server(repartee) has become
bonkers and we need to stick a VM system in there asap. I thought
asterisk would be a good thing to use.
Does anyone have experience with the older Executone PBX's and asterisk?
Any caveats, any tips, any things I should be aware of?
Thanks,

Non-PRI T1
Hello -
I have a non-PRI T1 setup and have been making outgoing calls for
several months no problem. I have Zapata.conf setup for fxs_ks on these
channels. How do I take incoming calls on these same channels? Do I
need to change the signaling?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Dave

Fedora Core 2 softphone
Hello all,
I am in the process of converting our company over to * to replace our
ancient executone system. As part of the testing process my boss wants
us to all run softphones on our desktops until he gets the phones
ordered. Quite a few of us run fedora core 2, and I haven't had any luck
getting a soft phone to work. Kphone works the best out of all I have
tried but I get no sound out of

Message-waiting-indicator thru ZAP interfaces - how to?
I'm trying to make the MWI indicators on my client's Vodavi Starplus
DHS phones work. The actual signalling - in-band DTMF from the ZAP
interfaces directly to the PBX system - works fine. I can manually
tell asterisk to send "#9610" as DTMF and voila, the MWI on extension
10 lights (or goes out.) The question is, how is this integrated with
voicemail, i.e. so that the MWI

Two outbound calls at once
Hello,
I am having an issue with making two simultaneous outbound calls.
When I dial, both phones try to take the same channel and it causes an
error. Anyone have any suggestions. My set up is as follows:
CO - PRI - ASTERISK - VODAVI(pbx).
Thanks,

Linux Voice Mail Application??
Does anyone on this list know of any Linux based apps that will work with
Dialogic or Brooktrout that provides voice-mail/Autoattendant only?? It
seems that Panasonic, Avaya, and Mitel all use Unix/linux based OS on their
firmware for their proprietary voice mails.
My wish list would be;
A software that provides all of the drivers for a dialogic or brooktrout
board

Newbie Questions . . .
Hello all.
My company currently has an older Executone PBX system that we are outgrowing.
Rather than wait until the last minute to make a hasty decision, I thought it
would be a good idea to do some research and compare options first. My
expertise is in computers and networking, and telephony systems are mostly
foreign to me.
What we currently have are 5 incoming POTS lines and 25

Multiple X100P in Asterisk box?
Hi,
I am the "IT guy" at a small startup based in UK. At the moment we have 3
analogue (PSTN) lines and we will be adding another 2 or 3 soon. Later on we
should be changing to ISDN30.
One of the partners mentioned getting an analogue PBX now, and when we move
to ISDN, then get a digital PBX. I though of Asterisk. I have seen the
website in the past and I know that it can do the job

zpool destroy causes panic
I'm trying to destroy a zfs array which I recently created. It contains
nothing of value.
# zpool status
pool: storage
state: ONLINE
status: One or more devices could not be used because the label is
missing or
invalid. Sufficient replicas exist for the pool to continue
functioning in a degraded state.
action: Replace the device using 'zpool replace'.

[LLVMdev] VMKit and PoolAlloc
Has anyone ever tried using VMKit's ahead-of-time compilation of Java
with pool allocation? If so, does it work? If not, should I bother
trying, or is it certain to fail?
Thanks,

[LLVMdev] a question about how to use LTO
Sorry, I post this message on this mailing list since I couldn't find the
one for common users. As a LLVM newcomer, I don't know how to do the link
time optimization correctly after building the gcc frontend and LLVM itself.
I followed the example in http://llvm.org/docs/LinkTimeOptimization.html but
at the final step I got the following error:
[XXXX at XXX example]$ llvm-gcc a.o main.o
