iax2 sound problem
Hello, I installed 1.6.2.17 version of asterisk. Set the user database to realtime. I have no problems with sip users. They can register talk etc.. With iax clients, they can register also.. And when they call iax to sip, it works. When they make an echo test..no voice received on iax clients. When they make call from sip to iax ..no sound received on iax clients. I didnt see any clue on debug.

[Softphones] ZoIPer vs. XLite?
Hello I need to hook up someone's remote PC onto our Asterisk server over the Net. There are firewalls on each side, so I figured it's time to give IAX a try, and see if it's less of a pain to use than SIP. And since IAX hardphones are pretty are, I guess I'll go softphone. Apparently, the two most well-known IAX and SIP clients for Windows are ZoIPer and X-Lite, respectively.

Looking for a good lightweight Linux softPhone
I used to use IDEFISK, but since it was taken over/renamed into Zoiper it's been really hard work - now I'm told that they won't support my chosen distribution - Debian Etch - the current stable version of Debian I prefer. So, looking to dump Zoiper and go with something else - I want something light-weigh (So that rules out Ekiga - and Zoiper was going down the bloatware route

Hi all, Can some one suggest me an IAX client for Linux and Windows? I used KIAX once, but know it seems complicated to have it working on Ubuntu. Thanks. Ronaldo.

recommendable softphones / X-Lite / Zoiper for amd64?
Hi, I am on amd64 Linux and not really too happy with twinkle, linphone and ekiga. Unfortunately, X-Lite and Zoiper, even though they provide Linux versions (w00t!) have only x86 versions for download. Do you guys know of amd64 versions of those, or can you recommend other softphones that will run on amd64, or which come with source code? Thanks, -- martin | http://madduck.net/ |

Zap FXS slow to reset?
I have the following dialplan (segment) that isn't working as I expected it to: exten => s,n,Dial(Zap/1&SIP/202&SIP/203,18) exten => s,n,Dial(Zap/1&SIP/201&SIP/202&SIP/203,42) The plan was to have SIP/201 added to the group of ringing phones after 3 or so rings. What ends up happening, though, is the Zap/1 phone STOPs ringing when the dialplan falls through to

Your "favorite" Asterisk application.
Hi, all. I've done some Asterisk recelling, but recently got roped into a Sr. SysAdmin position. Our PBX is c. 1823, and -- well, as pretty much all circuit-based systems do, it sucks. It sucks to administer, moves suck... you know the drill. So, I'd love change to an Asterisk system. My boss, who loves to spend money for no particular reason, wants to go proprietary, though. So

[IAX] Recommended soft- and hardphones?
Hello Since SIP/RTP is a pain to use with road warriors who need to connect from any location over the Internet, I'd like to get them some IAX phones instead. For those of you using this protocol instead of SIP, what would you recommend as IAX hardphones and Windows (and ideally Mac) softphones? Thank you.

Softphone to be installed on the Mobile
Thanks a lot for the help. But if Asterisk has private IP address and the only way to access it from remote sites is to have vpn connection to the site that asterisk existed (the site has vpn), then how that will happen from the Mobile to be able to run the softphone from the mobile? Any help? Regards Bilal ----------------- I installed out of curiosity today, and guess what? You can do SIP over

kiax - iax2 softphone
Has anyone on here used kiax before? I am asking because I have it installed on several computers and have been able to get it to connect and register to my Asterisk box. I can even call between them and my SIP softphones. The problem I am having is this: when I use kiax to call someone else, they get some kind of background music playing while I am talking to them. I have called from kiax to

Audio Delay of 1-2 seconds, one way with Zoiper soft phones
Hi All I will do a test call from a soft phone to my mobile. I can speak into my headset and the audio is heard instantly. But if I speak into my mobile there is a 1-2 second delay in the Audio. I am using SIP. I am only finding it in the Zoiper Softphones that we are using. All other phones don't seem to have it present. Sadly the customer is Quite attached to the Zoiper. I have set QOS =

E65 fails registration, soft phone works
Hey folks, I am trying to get an E65 to connect to asterisk, and I would really appreciate a second set of eyes. The SIP dialog completes fine, but the phone subsequently says "Registration failed". I am in a network that has what seems to be a SIP-capable NAT gateway, but the asterisk is configured nat=yes anyway. Using a softphone (twinkle), I can connect just fine, SIP and RTP work.
