PHP implementation of dovecotpw passwords
I am looking for PHP functions that implement passwords that much the
dovecotpw implementation.
I downloaded one from PEAR, Crypt_HMAC, but the passwords it
generates look nothing like the dovecotpw passwords, which could be my
fault because I know nothing about the field.
Is there a guide or some library that implements them to match dovecotpw?

Quota exceeded messages
When I try to move messages between folders I get 'Quota exceeded' messages.
I installed dovecot without any major configuration and accounts are
created with PostfixAdmin.
Is there some common setting that I must be missing?
Version in use is 1.0 rc26

Smallest possible Asterisk VM
How small can an Asterisk system be, in terms of disk space utilized?
I am looking for just asterisk, with mysql, postgresql, or sqlite,
with PHP and Python.
After finishing the build and removing the tools, how small can the
whole system be?
100Mb, 200Mb?
Can packages be used to build the whole system, like using debs and rpms alone?

Should a Linksys Sipura 2102 be configured with nat=yes even if it is on the local network?
Should a Linksys Sipura 2102 be configured with nat=yes even if it is on
the local network?
I have been having some troubles with a Linksys Sipura 2100 series, which
suffers from NO AUDIO after a few calls.. Because it is on the same subnet
as Asterisk it is configured with nat=no. When you think of it because the
Sipura 2100 is a broadband router, the voice part may be considered as
being behind

billsec is set to duration if call is not answered
The behaviour of my Asterisk appears to have changed suddenly without
any apparent cause.
The version is use is 1.4.27.1
When a call is not answered billsec is set to duration, and calls are
charged. I can't see any change I could have
made to cause this problem. Is it something already known in Asterisk?

custom kernel for Centos 5 kickstart?
Hi,
Has any one tried to merge a custom kernel into vmlinuz/initrd.img for
Centos 5 kickstart? Or similar Linux distribution?
I am rebuilding a custom kernel from stock kernel source to build some
hardware modules into static form, so that the hardware detection
sequence can be altered in a hard way. Quick examples are: tg3 drivers
will be loaded before e1000, 3w-9xxx be loaded before

Asterisk failed to authenticate device - attack attempt.
Hi all,
I continue to see the following msg on my Asterisk log:
[Sep 8 15:34:37] NOTICE[7375]: chan_sip.c:23277 handle_request_invite:
Failed to authenticate device 9009<sip:9009 at 196.107.xx.xx>;tag=8dd48dd2
IP: 196.107.xx.xx is my asterisk server IP address.
I don't know what it means and how to cover any holes that attacker is
trying to exploit.
Thanks,
Motty

Can Wiki entry on dovecot LDA/deliver be clarified?
Hi guys,
I am having some problems relating to this "Fixing lda user_query
error introduces new fault in mail delivery" and I'd like to know if
the above wiki comment holds even if a user_query is configured to
return the correct mail folder.
According to this LDA delivers only to the mail_location setting. Does
that mean that it will stick to the value in dovecot.conf or will the

Personal Firewalls
Hello,
Our ISP provides a firewall and NAT services for our Intranet.
However, within the Intranet, there appear to be personal firewalls
around some anonymous PCs. The IP addresses of these PCs can
be detected by our network monitoring tool.
The identity of the user however remains anonymous.
Are there any tools that can be used to penetrate the personal firewall
and reveal the identity of the

Connecting 1-2 GSM ports to asterisk?
Hi, List,
I am looking for a cheapest (and therefore most funny) way to attach
GSM card to my asterisk home box.
Needed features:
Calls+SMS in/out
one or two SIM cards (ports)
Should I try looking for a GSM PCI card that is compatible with
linux/asterisk, or GSM USB card, or modern full-blown SIP GSM gateway
(with ethernet)? Maybe an ordinary cell phone with USB interface and
mangling with

No announcement for kernel 3.10.0-1062.12.1.el7
On our CentOS 7 servers I see there is a new kernel available when doing
yum update:
kernel 3.10.0-1062.12.1.el7
kernel-devel 3.10.0-1062.12.1.el7
However I am not able to find any announcement at redhat.com for this
kernel. The only announcement I find is this from CentOS:
https://www.mail-archive.com/centos-announce at centos.org/msg11573.html
However that CentOS announcement links to

Recent hypervisor update on Debian Wheezy breaks domU networking
Hi,
Firstly I apologise for the cross-post, however I don't expect to get as
quick a response from the package maintainers as I do from the Debian
community, and this issue affects a service that I've got scheduled to go
live at midnight this evening. :(
A recent update from xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64 version 4.1.3-7, to version
