Multiple samba instances on same machine in v4.8 and beyond
This is a long shot as it look as though this may not be supported anymore. Since moving to CentOS 7 we have been using the instantiation feature of systemd to run multiple winbind and smb instances on a single server as part of an HA setup (pacemaker/corosync). In testing samba version 4.8 and beyond we have found that this doesn?t work anymore, or rather the client tools are unable to

Dovecot-1.0-test32 fails with assertion
Hello,
dovecot-1.0-test32 continuously fails on one of our customers mboxes
with the following error:
Sep 11 16:27:15 web dovecot: POP3(xxxxxxxxxxxxx.de1): file
mbox-sync-rewrite.c: line 360 (mbox_sync_read_and_move): assertion
failed: (need_space == -mails[idx].space)
About 200 other mboxes are working perfectly on the same server. Where
should I start looking for the cause of this?

Anyone running ntop on FBSD5.4
If you are running ntop on 5.4, what compile options?
Use ports version? Or surgefile tarball?
It makes a great security forensics tools, but I can't get it to stop
segfaulting.Was wondering if anyone found a fix for it.

Metric label values truncated when using OpenMetrics endpoint
Hi,
Recently we upgraded to Dovecot 2.3.11.3 and configured an example metric like this:
metric imap_command {
event_name = imap_command_finished
group_by = cmd_name tagged_reply_state user remote_ip
}
And enabled the OpenMetrics listener like this:
service stats {
inet_listener http {
port = 5000
}
}
While the result is great, I noticed that some metrics are being truncated

Centos 7 Install
I have a Centos 7 install that seems to be filling up disk space to 100% on
the root partition.
in /tmp I found files of names...
systemd-private-XXXXXXXX-colord and rtkit
I have never seen these files before.
there were also files of XXXXXXXXXXXXX.tmp in the /tmp folder.
Why are these files appearing? I have a number of installs and never came
across this before.
Thanks,
Jerry

Problems with H323/G729--No NATting and no Dynamic IP involved...
Hello... I'm having problems with H323/G729 setup. Below is the output
of h.323 debug when making a call. I use a SIP phone connected to an *
box in the same LAN. The * connects to a h323/g729 PSTN terminator
through internet. Calls rings and are answered in the other side, but I
get no sound at all nor the other side does (complete silence in both
sides). I thought this would just happen

Password policies in the LDAP server
Hi
We have some Samba servers using LDAP (389 DS) as backend. In the LDAP
server, we have defined some policies to make the passwords stronger. When a
user tries to change his password (Control-Alt-Del), this message appears in
the LOGs:

Re: Assertion failure in journal_flush()
Hi all,
We encountered a problem by chance today, a kernel bug which causes the
following error:
Assertion failure in journal_fl sh() at journal.c:1310:
"!journal->j_running_transaction"
kernel BUG at journal.c:1310!
This happened while remounting an ext3 filesystem read-only. We often do
this and haven't seen this bug before, so I suspect some kind of race.

libvirt error messages
Hello,
I am experimenting with libvirt for my diploma. I set up an environment,
where I can stop, resend, generate messages for libvirt.
I am capable also standing between client and server and analyze the number
of current procedure and decide what to do next ( I mean rpc procedure).
So, for example I want to always drop creating snapshots and send an error
to client with my custom message (NOT

I guess adding another `| uniq -c` at the end of that would save

transferring SIP call: no voice
I'm trying to connect a sip call from sipgate to Asterisk A to Asterisk
B. Both are behind NAT, but port forwarded. I get the connection, but no
voice - either in or out.
I can call on SIP from A to B (and from B to A). Do it all the time.
Asterisk A receives SIP calls from Junction and Teliax.
CLI on A looks right:
