Mobile Phones and Asterisk
Hi,
Is the dev_state can also be used to track a mobile phone's status via SIP? I tried it on several phones(nokia, samsung) but it returns NOANSWER but i can hear a beep beep beep sound indicating that it is currently busy.

Fax Woes
Hi all,
I'm trying to get outgoing fax working from an SPA2102 to a PSTN fax machine
via a T.38 enabled trunk.? I've got
t38pt_udptl = yes
faxdetect=no
in my sip.conf file.? The ATA has all of the T.38 options turned on, echo
cancellation is off, as well as silence suppression off.? The only
configured codec is u711.?
When the user tries to send a fax, it gets to the point where it

How to use one single IP as origination
I have an Asterisk with multiple IP's, on the same subnet. When a call comes
in, I need to send it back out via SIP, but need that only one IP is used as
originating IP for all calls.
For example
machines has
192.168.50.3
192.168.50.4
192.168.50.5
....
but when I originate the second leg of a call, the IP address that is
supposed to be read as source IP must be 192.168.50.5, regardless of how

On-Hold Music
Hi gang,
In 500 words or less (if possible), please explain what is a
legal music-on-hold file? My boss hates the stuff provided with the
distribution and I figure that I'm asking for trouble if I take my Les Mis
tracks and run them through Audacity and SOX to make new files.
Thanks in advance

VoiceConduits - Notice
Hello,
This is David Deutsch, and I'm the owner of VoiceConduits. There seems to be
some confusion related to our company, regarding the past few posts.
VoiceConduits is currently NOT open for public business, we have never to
date advertised or attempted to attract business. It appears that a few
people heard about our company via a mention in a SineApps article and found

Six steps to better SIP security with Asterisk
In case any of you were wondering why there has been a fairly notable
upswing in the attacks happening on SIP endpoints, the answer is
"script kiddies." In the last few months, a number of new tools have
made it easy for knuckle-draggers to attack and defraud SIP endpoints,
Asterisk-based systems included. There are easily-available tools
that scan networks looking for SIP

flac fingerprint
hi,
i found this explanation of the flac fingerprint somewhere:
'A FLAC Fingerprint is generated only for the audio data portion of
the file. (Therefore, changing the filename or the tags or
FlacMetadata does not change the fingerprint calculation.) In
contrast, an .md5 is generated against the whole file, including
header portions.'
so i was wondering what advantages it could give me

Multiple user registration ...
Hello there!
We are planning to use Asterisk on our VoIP platform, and we are
spending some brains on a way to provide the following facility: let
some SIP user (extension) registrate with more than one client (ATA,
SoftPhone, VoipCelular, etc) - what isn't a problem at all -, initiate
calls from any of this devices that are registrated with the same user -
no problems on tests too -,

Echo after upgrade * 1.05 -> 1.06
Hi list!
I have a strange echo problem. Two days ago I setup * 1.0.6. at a friend
of mine. Just an * server and for outbound calls wengo.fr was used to
place calls via sip. He had a strange echo on the line I didn't
experience on my setup.
Today I upgraded my asterisk 1.0.5 to 1.0.6 and suddenly I have an echo
too on sip calls thru wengo!!
I already verified wengo was not the source of

piechart
dear R-community,
Is it possible to have one pie chart of a large radius and then a pie
chart with smaller radius placed on top of the larger so the centers of
the two pie charts coincide?
I managed to place a filled circle with smaller radius in the piechart,
see below.
Thanks in advance, Sybille

Testing the .flac file against its internally stored fingerprint lets
you know that you have a properly encoded .flac file of *something*. If
you also certify that internally stored fingerprint

Printing with CUPS and missing deadkeys
The following is taken from the Wine Documentation:
If you are using CUPS, you do not need to configure .ini or registry
entries, everything is autodetected.
It doesn't work, though. Anyone knows another way to get CUPS to work? In
Linux it works perfectly. The applications prompt that they can't find a
printer driver. How can you make windows know there is a printer driver?

Faking system time
Hello all.
I am trying to use WINE to make a windoze-only development environment (very rudimentar, command line cross-compiler and stuff)
under Linux, because GNU make is far superior from the M$'s 'nmake'.
Anyway, I have some trouble with expirating licenses and stuff, and the solution is to revert the system date back to some
valid thing and then compile.
Since I am now running

Ground Truth
Hello,
Does anybody know of a way to obtain the the following:
1. An associative map between variable and text section memory offset of
read/write for def-use output just at the time the final binary is output?
2. A set of true positive intended instruction addresses?

Life's truth, but among hidden in the insipid.
Many people always complain no chance of success, it's because they didn't find opportunity's eyes. Opportunities will always exist, as long as you are good at capturing, it often is around you, on the way to success, if you don't have the patience to wait for the arrival of success, you have to use the lifetime of the patient to face failure.

truth (karnaugh) table
Dear list,
I think I'm being dense, but I can't get combn or expand.grid to give
me this result. I need to generate a matrix of all 16 possible
sequences of 4 boolean elements,
0000
0001
0010
0011
0100
.....
1111
(in the end I'll have to assign NA to the 0s and some value to the 1s
but let's keep it simple)
OK, I could go the following route, but I feel like reinventing the
