Summary functions to dataframe
I have written a few different summary functions. I want to calculate
the statistics by groups and I am having trouble getting the output as a
dataframe. I have attached one example with a small dataset that
calculates summary stats and percentiles, I have others that calculate
upper confidence limits etc. I would like the output to be converted to
a dataframe with one of the columns as the

My Switch is being attacked using sip scanner tool (Service Abuse Attack)
An attacker is scanning my Asterisk Switch to gain illegitimate access to
VoIP call functionality.
Using a sip scanning tool, *it* sends REGISTERs with random identities. And
when it discovers one identity subscribed in my switch, it tries to
authenticate with random passwords using this user name.
For the moment, I have replaced this account. And also blocked the IP it has
used but each time

Being attacked by an Amazon EC2 ...
Just a "heads-up" ... my home asterisk server is being flooded by someone
from IP 184.73.17.150 which is an Amazon EC2 instance by the looks of it -
they're trying to send SIP subscribes to one account - and they're
flooding the requests in - it's averaging some 600Kbits/sec of incoming
UDP data or about 200 a second )-:
This is much worse than anything else I've

With a current version of Dovecot a search is pretty fast _without_ using external indexes. I have a view defined (virtual plugin) with around 22.000 messages in it, and searching the full view only takes 2.5

SELinux context for web application directories
CentOS-6.5
We deploy web applications written with the Ruby on Rails framework using
Capistrano (2.x). Each 'family' of web applications are 'owned' by a
dedicated user id. The present httpd service is Apache 2.2.15 and we use
Passenger 3.0.11. We are moving shortly to a new deployment host and at that
time we will be updating to Apache 2.4.9 and Passenger 4..0.25.

Hi,

we?ve got a samba system as an pdc and got some problem with one file which always is not closed properly.
?
Here we have the output with no user or pc is logged on and one file keeps always open. The only way is to reboot the system. Killing the process fails. May someone has an idea what causes this?

Samba closing printer prematurely?
Greetings Samba Users,
I have a strange issue. Adobe Reader can't print to a Samba
printer. It would be funny except it is happening to me....
Adobe Reader can't print PDF files to a true Adobe PS3 printer but GhostView can
print PDF files without any problems.
The printer in question is a Ricoh Aficio AP4510.
I tried Samba v3.0.11 and v3.0.20 and I get the same result, no

[Samba 4] Issues with uidNumber and gidNumber in AD for Linux clients
Hi,
I am still experimenting with Samba 4 and I'd like to serve both
Windows and Linux clients with Samba (standalone AD server). The
Windows-side is already working well. For serving Linux-clients I need
to store the users' uidNumber and gidNumber in the Active Directory.
This is how I do that:
1. Create a user "test" with samba-tool
2. Get the internal UID which was assigned

tc filter information
Hello list,
I guess I am jumping in here at the deep end... I have had a look at the
lartc web pages, found the wondershaper script, read through as much of
the HOWTO as possible without my brain exploding, and I feel that I get
the concepts kinda OK. The thing that I am having trouble with are the
tc "filtertype specific parameters". I''ve read a great message on the
archives

Tripplite SU1500RTXL2Ua and nut versions, battery line state fluctuates
I am trying to get a TrippLite SU1500RTXL2Ua working with nut on
Mandriva 2007.1, is there a particular version of nut needed to get this
to work? At first I tried nut 2.0.5 (which came with 2007.1) but it
wouldn't work, and then research showed it was an older version of nut.
So nut-2.2.1-2 src rpm was pulled from Mandriva 2008.1, the binary rpm
built, and nut and nut-server installed from

Dovecot 1.2.8 problem on AIX
Running revision 9492:3efdbaab2960(Mon Nov 23) on AIX 5.3. I run dovecot out of inetd. Every once in a while I get the following error:
Dovecot is already running with PID 2592842 (read from /usr/ladmin/dovecot-1.2.8/var/run/dovecot/master.pid) when I try to connect to the imap port.
