When memory usage ratio become 50% or more, the quality of calls become extremely noisy. Here is the issue. I have a 600MB /boot partition allocated on a UEFI system. The /boot/efi partition is on a separate EFI

Samba client filesize problems
Filesize problems with samba client on Redhat 9 and W2k machine. The original smbclient did this so I upgraded to the latest, it didn't help. The server is W2k with an NTFS volume, these are video files - the windows software breaks the files at the 2G limit, but for some reason some are reported as 2G others as huge !! One day I might own 25T of disk, but not today. Anyone any ideas ?

Un Installing a hard drive in a Centos 5.1 box
Hi Guys, I'm fairly new to Linux and I'm trying to un install a hard drive from my Centos 5.1 box running KDE. When I built the PC, I installed two 500 gig maxtors in the tower, then I installed Centos. Now I've decided that I want to remove the slave drive and use it as an external backup drive - I am mounting it into one of those external drive cases with a built in fan. When I

Unfortunately, it seems to freeze: # rsync --delete-before -a -H -v --progress --stats /srv/backuppc-data/ /mnt/iscsi_backup/backuppc/ building file list ... 7891370 files to consider And it waits here. It was already copied once sussessfully, and this time, I just wanted to do an update. Destination filesystem is iSCSI, on another device

Issues when volume is full
I''ve been using btrfs as a spool space on our back-up server to get familiar with it and things work fine until the volume fills up. Our backup software (bacula) usually spools until the volume is full, then despools and respools, etc. With btrfs, it fills up and bacula thinks there is still space so it keeps trying and then finally errors out. I thought this was a problem because I was

We also run a cluster of mongrel servers using apache2.2. Is this much memory use normal? PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+
