Cause and cure for "Exceptionally long voice queue length queuing to Local"?
Hello,
We're seeing lots of warnings like the following, running Asterisk
1.6.1.12. Does anyone know the cause or cure?
One explanation I've come across is that the peer is congested and
sending RTCP messages asking us to slow the RTP down. Is there any way
we can verify this?

Asterisk RPM's
I am new to Asterisk and have searched all over for an answer to this,
so please don't skewer me too bad if this is a stupid question. I am
currently running 1.6.0.21 on a few test boxes (one i386, one x64), and
have noticed that there haven't been any RPM updates since .21, even
though .25 just hit.
What I am wondering about (and please don't assume this is a complaint,

Origin of "Exceptionally long voice queue length queuing to IAX2/blahblah" messages
Hello,
I'm using asterisk for a quite long period, i integrated a lot of stuff to make it behave like any carrier class system, so users can:
manage Call forward on busy
manage Call forward on no answer
manage unconditionnal call forward
call back missed calls
and a lot of such services that can be both configured by menus and dtmf or by web interfaces (PHP+SQL), in fact i recreated

RESOLVED: 'Dropping voice to exceptionally long queue on IAX2'
As far as I can tell I have this resolved. For those of you that may
encounter this error I send this out to help.
I have determined that the problem lay with my mail setup. I was attaching
voicemail messages to email alerts. The problem was my server decided to
take the backup MX instead of the local one. My backup MX doesn't have much
bandwidth available so transferring a message took a

'Dropping voice to exceptionally long queue on IAX2'
I searched the archives and found a couple references to this from Mark. I
am on a network that will not support IRC (govt) so I cannot do IRC.
This happend after calling Voicemail (<num>). I hung up on the call and also
tried the # to hang up. Both resulted in many, many

up the line.

Exceptionally long queue length (help!)
Help!
I have providers configured that send me incoming calls via SIP. There's
one that seems to make trouble. As soon as I get a few concurrent calls
through this peer, Asterisk CPU load goes up to 250%, audio becomes
laggy and I get hundreds of these per second in the logs:

Exceptionally long queue length queuing . . . .
I wonder if anyone out there has a perspective on this. There are a
welter of tickets out there on the matter, most of them closed.
This problem began for me over a year ago, and continues up to the
latest versions I've installed (1.6.2.13).
It happens randomly, and the suggestion on one of the bug tracker
tickets that it is instigated by a small network leg looks to be on
point to me,

Exceptionally long queue length queuing
Hi,
We have a box up and we are starting to see a lot of "Exceptionally long
queue length queuing" in the logs. From all the research so far it seems
like this leads to their systems crashing and being unreachable. In our
case the box remains up and takes calls. We are running Asterisk 16.6.1. We
are using MusicOnHold to play online music streams via ffmpeg. Any idea on
how to

QUEUE_PRIO
Hi, does QUEUE_PRIO work the Queues and Asterisk 1.6.2? I've found some
documentation on Google but it looks like it's old Asterisk and not
current.
Thanks

Asterisk error - 1.6.2 SVN - voicemail files "corrupted"
Hi,
I know I am using SVN, but I was wondering if anybody ever came across this
error. I can't read my voicemails because files seems to be corrupted, for
lack of a better word. When I do access my messages, I get those errors:

Unexplained message in 1.6.2
Every time I start Asterisk or do a simple reload I see this message:
"Cannot open maximum file descriptor 32767 at boot? No such file or
directory"
Does anybody have some idea of what can it be? It did not happen in version
1.4.

Asterisk 1.6.2.10 Internal timing
Hello list,
I get the following error :
pbx_extension_helper: No application Page for extension
Apparently I have no timing source installed.
But I thought that Dahdi did not need to be installed for timing ?! And
that there is some internal timing in Asterisk 1.6.2.10 ?
Kind regards,
Jonas.
