Interesting announcement today;

Microsoft this week revealed its intention to discontinue its Response
Point, its small business VoIP system for companies with up to 50

While not unexpected, the move is significant because Response Point was

Asterisk 1.6.2.0-rc6 + Teliax = First Part Of Audio File Playback Cut Off
Good evening all, hope everyone in the US had a nice Thanksgiving!
On one of our internal servers, I decided to make the leap from 1.4.2x
to 1.6.2.0-rc6 so I could start learning about the changes and new
features that have been implemented. I upgraded all the configs, removed
all the deprecated stuff, etc -- well went well.
However, I noticed after the upgrade, when dialing into an

Native mp3 playback winemp3.acm/l3codeca.acm regression?
Two issues.
1. Probable regression in Wine v1.2.2 and 1.2.3 (v 1.2 ok):
- ACM / native WMP playback not working.
Tried to upgrade to 1.2.3, then 1.2.2 and they both cause the player (1by1) to hang, nothing written to console.
Revert back to v1.2 and acm works fine again.
2. Bug in Wine v1.3.x:
- ACM / native WMP playback (using libmpg123) elapsed track time advances too quickly (nearly two

AMI Reload action, returning generated errors?
Howdy,
I'm building a webapp to allow my techs to do minor dialplan edits and
trigger a reload on my PBX's running 1.8
I have no problem triggering a 'reload pbx_config.so' via manager, The
problem is how can I see the results of my reload?
For example a missing close parenthesis which would show in

Stata support in package foreign
As you know, Stata support in 'foreign' was frozen a while back at Stata
version 12. R-core has received a request from a grad student to 'give
top priority' to supporting Stata 13. That is not going to happen, not
least because none of us has access to Stata.
However, according to Stata's documentation both Stata 12 and 13 use
format 115, so foreign::read.dta should be

Only way to "prove" it is to set up a test and try it. AFAIK there

.leap.seconds
I glanced at the .leap.seconds object and noticed that it has not been
updated for the most recent leap second that occurred 2005 December 31,
23h 59m 60s. See the IERS bulletin here:
http://hpiers.obspm.fr/iers/bul/bulc/bulletinc.dat
Moreover, after a more careful glance at the .leap.seconds object, I
noticed that there are two incorrect entries. First, there was not a

problems with sysvol aft
Hi,
I plan to upgrade/replace my somewhat crippled and outdated samba 4.7.4
domain controller. The OS is an openSUSE-Leap-42.3 which had no packages
for a samba-ad-dc. These packages have been introduced in successor
openSUSE releases starting with Leap-15.0. Leap-15.0 comes with samba
4.7.11. So I set up a new Leap-15.0 host and joint it as a dc
controller. I set up the sysvol replication
