123 Basic configuration files

The contrast and Design libraries
Dear all,
I have been using the contrast library in my teaching for the last couple
of years and am right in the middle of this year's round. In the last week
R has been updated to version 2.14.0 on our computers. This has had the
unfortunate effect of meaning the contrasts library no longer works, as
the Design library is no longer available. I wonder if anyone has a fix
for this...or

Disconnecting call for lack of RTP activity in 301 seconds
Hello,
I noticed that a call on hold is disconnected after 5 minutes, whatever
the value of the "rtpholdtimeout" parameter in sip.conf.
Tested from v1.8.10.0 to 1.8.32.3.
The version 1.8.8.0 is not affected. I don't know between 1.8.8.0 and
1.8.10.0.
Does anybody has a solution to increase the timeout of a call on hold ?
Is this a bug or a new parameter ?

Newbie with missing .conf files
Yeah, I'm a newbie and am having problems with missing .conf files in
/etc/asterisk/
I get notices when I try to run asterisk like:
parking.conf is depreciated in favour of features.conf Please rename it.
(I'm not getting rename parking .conf to features.conf ???)
I am also missing:
mgcp.conf
enum.conf
cdr.conf
I using dev-lite Digium board that has 1 fxo and 1fxs port. So far I was

marginal distribution wrt time of time series ?
Dear all,
In many papers regarding time series analysis
of acquired data, the authors analyze 'marginal
distribution' (i.e. marginal with respect to time)
of their data by for example checking
'cdf heavy tail' hypothesis.
For i.i.d data this is ok, but what if samples are
correlated, nonstationary etc.?
Are there limit theorems which for example allow

Using plyr::dply more (memory) efficiently?
Hi all,
In short:
I'm running ddply on an admittedly (somehow) large data.frame (not
that large). It runs fine until it finishes and gets to the
"collating" part where all subsets of my data.frame have been
summarized and they are being reassembled into the final summary
data.frame (sorry, don't know the correct plyr terminology). During

read.table error upon package installation (PR#8230)
Upon upgrading to R 2.2.0 on my Windows box, I found that one of my
packages no longer compiled, giving this error:
Error in read.table(zfile, header =3D TRUE) :
more columns than column names
Execution halted
After removing every line of code from my package and still not being
able to compile it, I found the error to be related to a .txt file in my

we are using ser as registrar and proxy, * as gateway.
Can someone explane me the * NOTICE Message
"chan_sip.c:7380 do_monitor: Disconnecting call
'SIP/sipgate.de-08352520' for lack of RTP activity in 0 seconds"
We got a lot of these messages and Call Hung ups right after
the Notice.

Yes, this means the remote end was not sending any audio stream.
But it shouldn't.
According to [1] before remote end send OK or ACK there is one way SDP,
no any audio stream.
PJSIP channel (option rtp_timeout) does not take this one.
Isn't it a mistake? What could be workarounds?

Meaning of "smbstatus" display
Hello.
I'm wondering about what smbstatus of Samba 3.0.2a display. When I run
"smbstatus --processes", I see that some "entries" from the lower
"services" list are not present in the upper part of the list.
Why is that so?
Let me give an example. In the smbstatus list below, I'm concerned about
these entries:

Installation and Configuration Issues
Hi group,
FYI, I have successfully installed and ran icecast1 on my home Debian
machine.
I am now attempting to create a production server with icecast2 for MP3
streaming of some educational radio shows that we produce here. I'm
running into some snags.
I have gotten icecast2 installed. However, when I go to the status page

Installation on CYGWIN Failed (PR#9442)
Hi,
I tried to install R-2.4.1 on cygwin system. "./configure" succeeded, but
make failed. Below, I provide the output from the process: error message,
