Losing local SIP phones when internet goes down?
Hi, I'm getting some strange behaviour on Asterisk 1.4 running on Debian Stable (Lenny). I suspect it's something to do with my setup, rather than a bug, but I'm struggling to see it, and would appreciate any input. Setup: PC with two ethernet cards: eth0 goes to local network, including two SIP phones (Aastra 9112i, wired, and Nokia E75, over WIFI); eth1 goes to router and

Qualify time +2000ms?
Although I'm convinced that Broadvoice doesn't have the most stable of ping times, it seems like I get ping results that are approximately the ping time +2000ms at times. Has anyone experienced this problem with qualify on a SIP connection before? So here, was the ping 20ms or 2020ms as reported? NUT 2.8.1 (source build) Pi OS bookworm 32 bit - nut-monitor trying to connect to UPS - Connection Refused
I've installed 2.8.1 on a Raspberry PI 5 using Pi OS bookworm 64 bit (Debian 12) with success. When I take that same configuration to a PI 3B running bookworm 32 bit, compile from source, use the same files from /etc/nut, I get a 'nut-monitor ups at localhost Connection refused. usbhid-ups and dummy-ups are running at the time. What should I be looking for? Dan -------------- next

I can't call my remote users?
Good day to all-- First off let me say that I have been very pleased with the mailing list. I have learned a ton of stuff just reading other peoples questions and comments. I really enjoyed the VOIP Conference call on Friday morning. Still working on figuring out the best approach to custom voicemail emails (the reason I joined this group); however, we have more pressing issues. I

Asterisk 1.8.7.0 connectivity to Avaya SM
Hello all, I hope someone can help me with this old Asterisk version. I have to run this version because of a custom IVR written on it. Porting it would take much too long and we'd have to hire a consultant because of all the hooks it has into Oracle databases and real-time information. We have a brand-new Avaya phone system in place and we will be cutting over to it in late March 2019.

name resolves to public address - should resolve to private...
On my network I have one Samba PDC (Version 3.0.28 running on FreeBSD 6.3-PRERELEASE), one mail server (FreeBSD + Dovecot + Postfix) and a dozen or so WinXP/Win2K machines. The WinXP/Win2K machines all have static IP addresses. The Windows clients are configured to look up the Samba PDC machine for both DNS and WINS. The Windows clients seem to be able to find other machines as well as the PDC:

Problem with Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 bnx2
Hi, I have a Dell PowerEdge 1950 with two NICs Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5708 1000Base-T. I installed CentOS 5.1 and Xen 3.0.3 (RPM). One of my virtual machines has Windows 2003 Server. In this virtual machine my NICs appears like "Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC". The problem is that when I ping to other machines sometimes the reply time value is very high: C:>

Stolen and degraded time and schedulers
The current Linux scheduler makes one big assumption: that 1ms of CPU time is the same as any other 1ms of CPU time, and that therefore a process makes the same amount of progress regardless of which particular ms of time it gets. This assumption is wrong now, and will become more wrong as virtualization gets more widely used. It's wrong now, because it fails to take into account of several

Asterisk 1.8.7.0 connectivity to Avaya SM
Thanks for the reply John. About 85-90% of what this box has to do is just handle calls, but it also has options to transfer calls to the main phone system, which up to now has been another asterisk box. For example, you can hit 6 to be transferred to the Lost & Found Department. I do have allowguest set to “yes” already, but of course I also have type=peer and the other stuff for a sip

tls/srtp: sip_xmit error: returned -2
I'm having trouble setting up tls/srtp secure communications on my Asterisk server- I'm still rather new at working with Asterisk. I have enabled tls and encryption and I have csipsimple with tls build on the phone. I'm currently only testing one phone with this capability so far, and the rest still work in the current state. My logging looks like this with verbose turned up:

Problems with res_odbc
Good morning, I'm having suddenly cut-offs and I don`t know why. It's been hapenning since I enabled cdr_odbc/func_odbc in my system. We use func_odbc to register some queue member's events (login, pause, etc.) at an external DB ('remoto' connector) and to uptade local tables at a local DB ('local' connector). Currently we are usind cdr_odbc to Postgresql and cdr_addon

W2K3 HVM with gplpv shows strange pings
I just migrated a W2K3 Server to a Xen HVM domain, using the gplpv 0.10.69 drivers. peer timeouts and 489s
Hi All, I'm wondering if anyone can share any info on why I frequently get peer timeouts like below, and receive 489 messages from another A*k server on the same LAN. For the peers, we've one L2 switch. ICMP is <1ms. The CPU of the main A*k server is usually < 2%. So I can't see why we'd get such large delays. The phones are all Cisco 7940s (SIP 2xx) The 489 originate

Time synchronization problem. Chrony, ntp
I noticed a problem with time synchronization on all Windows endpoints. I am using Samba 4.21.3 and Chrony 4.3-2.
