Asterisk core dumping on SendFax with FFA
Hi All, I seem to have stumbled on a bit of a problem. When trying to send a fax with Fax For Asterisk on 1.6.2.x (have tried 1.6.2.5, 1.6.2.7 and the current svn version, with FFA 1.2 I get a core dump each time. Here is an extract form the console: [May 12 22:47:09] DEBUG[22584]: app_queue.c:1084 handle_statechange: Device 'SIP/vltb-sbc01' changed to state '1' (Not in use)

Anyone ever implement an *outbound* dial-by-name??
Hi All; I'm a newbie so please be gentle. I'm a new * user and am using it to control the 3 IP phones in my house. I'm using asterisk because I enjoy the flexibility and I'm sort of a tinkerer. Here's my question: Everyone has used the "dial by directory" function where you dial the user's name to connect to that extension. Instead of an inward dial,

vertical semi-circles in R
Dear useRs, I am to teach my students some drawing techniques in R. I started shape of an handle by using the following codes; >plot(0,0,col="white") >segments(0,0,0.3,0.3) >segments(0.3,0.4,0.3,0.3) >segments(0.3,0.4,0,0.7) >segments(0,0.7,0,0.6) >segments(0,0.0,0,0.1) The coding will draw a section of a handle. Now I want to draw semi circles of radius 0.05

Installing X100P
I attempted to install an X100P card but it was not correctly recognized by my Redhat 9 install. I had a test install running without any cards which was working great minus the outward dialing since no cards existed. Now that I have a card, I want to add it to the system. Do I have to scratch the whole current install in order to get the X100P running on my system or is there a way to get it

Dovecot proxy and Postfix SASL
Can somebody please verify that currently (v 2.2.9) SMTP AUTH using SASL from Postfix with Dovecot proxy is still not supported as discussed in these threads (especially the first one)? http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2012-August/067977.html http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2011-May/059107.html As I understand it is possible to use saslauthd to do this by using the remote imap option

another SMTP auth question
My ISP has just informed me that we will soon be required to authenticate when connecting to their smtp server, so I've been looking around on the web for how to do that with sendmail (just using auth when connecting outward-bound, nothing else). I've found a page here: http://www.sendmail.org/~ca/email/auth.html that explains it simply (for simple minds, like mine) but it appears to be

Proper AGI use with MySQL
Hi, We have a "simple" AGI script that provides some IVR functionality. It connects to a MySQL database in order to create a call record and capture IVR data. During the IVR process, we need to store the time the call started, so basically we INSERT a new MySQL row with callstart = NOW(), uniqueid = AGI(agi_uniqueid). As the user selects different options, we update the row to reflect

Asterisk ALSA module not working
Asterisk doesn't work with the latest CVS of ALSA (2003-06-24) . The module chan_alsa.so won't load even if the oss module, chan_oss.so, isn't loaded. There are no error messages. I've been chasing ALSA/Asterisk/client problems in one form or another for some time now. In previous versions of Asterisk and ALSA -- i.e., last week -- I could load either chan_oss.so or
