VoiceMail greetings
Hello everybody,
I'm using Asterisk ( 1.6.1.9 ) Voicemail.
For example, if i call extension *11 which is not registered, from
extension *12, i have no greetings at all, i only have the "please
leave a message after the beep".
I tried to record the busy, unavailable and temporary greetings for
extension *11 using VoiveMailMain and the file are well created on the
file system.

B410P and DTMF
Hi,
I have 3 ISDN lines using the digium B410P card.
Incoming and outgoing call are working.
I use the following version :
* libpri-1.4.10.2
* dahdi-2.2.1.1
* asterisk-1.6.2.6
On incoming calls, DTMF is not working, i can't see any logs.
Here are the main configuration files :
dahdi-channels.conf
;; Span 2: B4/0/1 "B4XXP (PCI) Card 0 Span 1"

Using a feature from AMI or CLI
Hi,
I've defined a feature using a macro in features.conf :
special => #2,peer,Macro,special
Everything is working if the user use the phone key.
But i would like to call the feature (or the Macro on the peer
channel) from AMI or CLI. First i thought i would be simple, but i did
not find any solution.
Does someone has an idea ?
Thank you very much.

Question regarding digital card TE412p
Hi,
I was able to implement T122p one port PRI and was able to call out, but I
am planning to use TE412p (includes echo cancellation) 4 port digital card
(PRI), I wanted to know can asterisk support 3 four port PRI cards (12 PRI
connections) with proper hardware like dual core quadcore processor and 8gb
RAM in one server?
Also I was planning to implement using 64 bit architecture with Asterisk:

libvirt_lxc namespace and umount in global namespace
Hi,
I am currently having an issue with the libvirt_lxc binary that is launched
when starting a lxc instance using libvirt. This process seems to have its
own namespace for mounts.
What happens is that if I umount something in the global namespace, it
stays mounted in the libvirt_lxc namespace.
I'm working with drbd, and after unmounting the mount point, I want to
change the state of the drbd

DUNDi + SIP Realtime
Good afternoon gentlemen (and ladies).
A costumer of mine has many servers and each one maps their SIP extensions to the others via DUNDi. It works like a charm. SIP extensions can only register at one server, the one they "belong" to. In case one extension wants to call other that is registered in another server, DUNDi takes care of that by calling the other server using IAX2 and G.729

Asterisk 1.4.17 and RXFAX via T38
I was pointed to the following:
http://asteriskforum.ru/viewtopic.php?t=1761
It is in Russian, which I don't speak, but it references an Asterisk patch.
Is this patch in 1.4.17?
Is it scheduled to be in 1.4.18 (or whatever ships after 1.4.17?)
Anyone work with this?

grandstream and jitter buffer
Hi guys,
I have a bunch grandstream phones using ulaw and my users are
complaining they are jittery when I use "canreinvite=yes". The data
connection is an ADSL link dedicated for phone traffic. At any given
time, I have at most 2 calls in parallel.
I'm not a huge fan of asterisk being in media path doing buffering
because the delay (jbmaxsize=80,jbimpl=fixed) is pretty long and

Dialing with cli
Any way to initiate a call and execute a playback of an audio file from the cli?
My only chance to debug or make changes is usually when no one's at the office including me!
Thanks!

Need opinion about GSM codec for Internet
Dear all, I have implemented an Asterisk SIP server for a WAN VPN over
Internet. We have users distributed along all my country (Argentina) that
register to my Asterisk in order to talk among them.
I'll plan to have voice and voicemail with GSM codec, because we can't
afford the payment for the G.729 licenses (it's an administrative problem of
our company, not an echonomical problem).

G.729 for Asterisk
Hello
I have a confusion relating to G.729 codec.
I know how to install where to get license but i really don't know why we
need it?
Why people use G.729 codec with asterisk?
look all functionality can be done with out it ie calling from sip to iax
protocol and sip/ iax to E1, then why we need this??

DAHDI Dummy for Linux VServers
I'm running dahdi on the host system, and have added the /dev/dahdi/
devices to the guest vserver as recommended in Beave's "Virtual Private
Asterisk" whitepaper (http://www.telephreak.org/papers/vpa/).
I tried copying libtonezone.so and libtonezone.h to the guest, but I
couldn't anything to replace zaptel.h in DAHDI souce (it seems dahdi.h
was deprecated?).

Calls Dropping
Hi,
I'm having a major problem with random calls dropping. After spending weeks trying to figure it out, i've finally spotted the issue but don't know how to resolve it.
I run a sip server that's hosted in a data centre. It has a public IP address with no nat involved. My provider also has a public ip with no nat involved.
The sip phones are in a remote office behind a nat

Jitter buffer question
Hi List,
I have a question regarding jitterbuffer in Asterisk 1.4.24. I see that
jitterbuffer is only effective on the receiving channels.
My asterisk has only SIP accounts + 2 SIP trunk accounts to our branch
office.
Questions:
1. To enable jitter buffer on SIP channels it seems I have to enable and
force it, right?
2. If I enable and force jitter buffer, Asterisk would always have to
stay

I just got a Xorcom Astribank with 8 FXS but it does not work. So I
