Wine 0.9.2, SuSE 10, Pegasus Mail 4.21C
I recently upgraded my SuSE 9.0 system to SuSE 10.
I have noticed several bug fixes in Wine but I have a new
problem with Pegasus Mail, the only Windows program I am
addicted to because it is so powerful.
The Pegasus Mail window can't be closed normally.
I can't solve the problem but maybe my own experiments can
help isolate it.
Pegasus Mail 4.21C has worked fine under SuSE 9.0

Pegasus Mail and recent versions of Wine
Has anyone succeeded in running Pegasus Mail with a version of Wine newer than
0.9.8?
With Wine 0.9.9 I experienced a termination of Pegasus Mail every time I closed
a message composition window. This was not "fixed" in Wine 0.9.10.
With Wine 0.9.11 and Wine 0.9.12 Pegasus Mail appears to be unable to display
anything other than its startup window with the flying horse and the

regular expression question
can someone show me how to use a regular expression to break the string
at the bottom up into its three components :
(-0.791,-0.263]
(-38,-1.24]
(0.96,2.43]
I tried to use strplit because of my regexpitis ( it's not curable. i've
been to many doctors all over NYC. they tell me there's no cure ) but
it doesn't work because there also dots inside the brackets. Thanks.

Issue with Pegasus Mail Help Functionality
I am using Wine v0.9.3 to run Pegasus Mail v4.31. I am happy to report that I
am able to shut PM down without "crashing" it as I had to do with the Alpha
versions of the past year or more.
OTOH, I am still unable to display the contents of the Pegasus Mail help file.
When I press F1 (or use Help on the Pegasus Mail menu) I get a window with a
menu (File, Edit, Bookmark, and Help)

Pegasus - No Internet Options
I've just updated my Ubuntu system with the latest Wine from wine.org
hoping it would resolve an ongoing problem with the Windows Pegasus email
program.
Pegasus loads fine, address books and identities all there but the
Internet Options is greyed out.
I've tried enabling and disabling the winsock32.dll option, I've tried
suggestions of deleting pmail.cfg and winpm-32.manifest.

Integration of Windows mail client in Konqueror
Hello together!
I would like pegasus mail as default mail client for konqueror. After clicking on
a mailto link there should be pegasus mail started in this way:
"wine winpm-32.exe -T <to address> -S <subject>"
My question was, how can i set up the Konqueror in such way?
Has anyone tried something like this?
Bye,
Timo

Wine - Launching Programs
I've had various Windows programs working successfully via wine but am
getting a wee bit confused running my email program.
I have my original windows installation accessible from Linux, I also
have a copy under /home/.wine and also on a USB stick.
In order to use my most up to date version I have altered the
filepath (eg wine /media/windows/system/pmail/winpm-32.exe -Z 12 but for

Problem with write permissions
Pegasus Mail (PM) v4.21c in Linux (SuSE Pro v9.1)/Wine (v20040914) environment.
My New Mail mailbox in PM is in one FAT32 (VFAT) partition and I have another
added mailbox in another FAT32 partition. From time to time (not consistent) I
have a problem with either or both of these partitions appearing to become
write only in the middle of a session during which I am filtering new mail. (If

wine and windows help
I'm trying to determine if it's possible to use the help system of windows
applications running under wine and what I might need to do before it
works. I just started using wine again after a long hiatus. I only run one
application under wine, xmlspy. I'd like to get its help system working
under wine. If I select anything from the help menu nothing happens right
now. Is it supported?

Any update on 5.6 / 6?
Hi,
Despite the mailing list and twitter I did not find any updated info on
either versions regarding the current status.
So, what is the current status of both versions? (like 60%)

New ManageSieve releases: v0.10.2 for Dovecot 1.1.rc4 and v9.3 for Dovecot 1.0.13
Hello Dovecot users,
Recently, I was pointed towards a problem in the managesieve SASL
implementation. As it turns out there was a bug in handling mechanisms
that expect more than a single client response. That is why the PLAIN
mechanism works and the (obsolete) LOGIN mechanism fails (along with
probably many others). This problem was present in both v9.2 and v0.10.1
for Dovecot 1.0 and 1.1

cbind() & rbind() for S4 objects -- 'Matrix' package changes
As some of you may have seen / heard in the past,
it is not possible to make cbind() and rbind() into proper S4
generic functions, since their first formal argument is '...'.
[ BTW: S3-methods for these of course only dispatch on the first
argument which is also not really satisfactory in the context
of many possible matrix classes.]
For this reason, after quite some discussion on

Re: Bug#181699: #181699 Re: #181699 wine: vague error message: "dramatically effect" in what way?
What really matters is not whether Wine has a Windows drive and
filesystem to sit on top of, but whether or not Wine can use native
Windows DLLs instead of its builtin ones. Some DLLs in Wine are so
perfect that they can be used in Windows - no benefit will be gained
from running an app that uses these natively. Some of Wine's DLLs are
buggy or incomplete - using stock native Windows ones

I have downloaded the pre-compiled Linux binaries for 32 and 64 bit when
I try to launch them I receive this error:

Histogram font
The hist() command produces this message on my machine...
Error in title(main = main, sub = sub, xlab = xlab, ylab = ylab, ...) :
X11 font at size 14 could not be loaded
How can I either (a) determine what font is required,
or (b) specify one of the fonts I have available?
This problem is specific to hist(), plot() works fine.
I am using R on SuSE Linux v9.3, from the KDE desktop.
