"Register Attacks" End of ENUM ?
Hello again!
after it being "relatively quiet" her for the last weeks, my Astrerisk
server was the target of 3 of that nasty REGISTER attacks during the
last days. While I can see not much danger coming from these attacks (I
use very long, complicated random generated passwords), they are still
very annoying, because they always lead to my server crashing. (I think

Asterisk - e164 (enum) lookup confused
I would like to implement enum lookup in my dial plan but searching for
solution / implementation I'm getting confused what is current
standard.
On some pages I read that the ENUMLOOKUP is not in development anymore
and suggesting on using Enumlookup.agi scrip , some are saying that
Asterisk 1.2.0 comes with a new powerful ENUMLOOKUP. So there is
probably no need to use this script anymore;

ENUM lookup issues with e164.org
Since e164.org added DNC and ADDRESS records my enum configuration has
failed.
Using both the old EnumLookup app and the new ENUMLOOKUP function, the
lookups have consistantly failed since e164.org added E2U+ADDRESS and
E2U+DNC records.

Enum parse errors
I'm running into errors when using Enum lately. I can't figure out what
the problem might be as I've had Enum up and running in the past. I'm
running the latest CVS-Head compiled version. I've also tried using the
new Enum function with the same results. When doing a lookup on a number
that exists in the enum server I get the following results:

multiple enum results
I'm setting up a private enum zone to simplify/centralize dialplans for a
number of Asterisk servers. In several dialed number situations, there
are a handful of possible destinations for the call, and I'd like to have
* try ENUMENTRY1, ENUMENTRY2, .., ENUMENTRYN just in case the first result
is temporarily unable to handle the call. In at least some cases, I'd
also like the order in

LCR with ENUM and DDNS: half the story
Ok, so you've read the Wiki and gotten call routing using ENUM to work
(http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20E164%20Call%20Routing)
with your own ENUM-alike domain, e164.example.com.
But how do you populate it with data? You can do it manually, but that gets
very tedious very quickly. Or you can use the nifty DDNS updating program
that comes with bind9.
The first thing is

ENUM and Asterisk 1.6
Hi all,
I have a problem with 1.6.1.7-rc1 and ENUM (with an own PowerDNS server
and NAPTR record). Maybe somebody has more experience with this or can
give me some input.
The dialplan:
exten => 292,1,Set(DIAL_NUMBER=43660123456)
exten => 292,2,Set(sip=
${ENUMLOOKUP(+${DIAL_NUMBER},sip,,1,ns3.e164.xxx.com)}) ;x'ed out the
domain name starting from here
exten => 292,3,NoOp(${sip})

Possible to light up a LED on Snom phones?
Hi everybody!
I've setup my dialplan so that if an extension dials *21*, that
extension is added/removed as a queue member to a queue. (State toggled).
But it would be great to get an "optical feedback" of that phone's state
regarding the queue membership.
Does someone know if it is possible to light up a LED under this szenario?
Many thanks!

Cannot install/run very important application
Hello everybody!
I've got a big problem: In my small business I use a Home-banking
software which I got
from my bank. Using it for many years now, it became very very important
for me.
Needless to say, it's a Windows software. Up to now, it was a Win 3.1
software which ran inside the Windows-Box of my ancient OS/2-PC. (The
only reason
why I still have this PC runnig OS/2).
This summer I

Hi Brian,
many thanks to you for your answers in the past! The always gave me the
little bit of mising information...
My Asterisk box is running fine now so I want to try the "next step"...
And now to all of you ....
What I want to implement is to use 1 button of my snom-360 phone for

Differentiate alphanumeric vs numeric strings
I have a bunch of tables in a Microsoft Access database. An updated database
is sent to me every week containing a new table. I know that is inefficient
and weird but welcome to my life. I want to read the tables whose names are
something such as "040207" but not the ones that have alphanumeric names
such as "everyone". Using RODBC I am easily able to create a character

Press quotes needed from ENUM users on Asterisk
I'm helping with an article in "New Scientist" on the use of ISN
(http://www.freenum.org/) and the reporter with whom I'm working is
trying to get some quotes from users of "normal" ENUM services
(e164.arpa, please) from a telco perspective as a comparative basis.
If you run an SS7 interconnected telephone switching system that
incorporates VoIP via ENUM (hopefully

fail to correctly build 1.8.5 ??
Hello everybody,
I've been using asterisk 1.2 for quite a long time now, but I thought
it's time to try a newer version of asterisk.
So I downloaded 1.8.5, extracted the tar, ran configure, make, make
install ...
Everything looks fine (no obvious compile/link errors).
But as soon as I start asterisk, it dies with a segfault.
I executed asterisk within strace and last action before the

ENUM lookup
Hi All,
For a 1.4 version asterisk, whats the recommended mechanism for dialling
with ENUM lookup? At the moment I user SIPbroker, but am getting tired
of it hanging on certain numbers, so I was thinking about implementing
it myself.
I've seen various vo-ip.info pages
(http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+cmd+EnumLookup) talking
about the func ENUMLOOKUP instead of EnumLookup

register suddenly fails
Hi everybody,
I've got a very strange problem:
As far as I remember I didn't change anything on my Asterisk side. I
have 2 SIP providers to which I can place outbound calls.
Today I noticed that outbound calls to provider "inode" fail (and
inbound from this provider too). On the CLI I get every 20 seconds
following messages:

better enumlookup handler
Does anyone have a better ENUM lookup handler than the built-in
ENUMLOOKUP() function? The built-in function does not properly handle
multiple return values such as:

Unable to install important application
Hi folks!
My bank sent me a CD with the new version of it's Homebanking software.
This new version uses internet for communication, the old one dialed
with the modem direct to the banks
computer. Because the old access will be revoked end of this year, it is
very very important
to switch to the new version.
So I put the cd into the drive, mounted /cdrom an started "wine

CDR userfield not written into DB
Hi everybody,
i've been googling for quite some time now but can't find an answer to
my problem...
I'm using Asterisk 1.2.12.1 with mysql as the cdr backend.
In the dialplan i've written
exten => 1234,n,Set(CDR(userfield)=blah)
exten => 1234,n,Answer()
exten => 1234,n,Queue(.....)
exten => 1234,n,Hangup()
