Childrens Game: Barbie Pegasus does not run
Hello All, I recently converted my wife over to Ubuntu 8.04 and wanted to do the same to my children's PC. I have checked AppDB and was unable to find a listing for this game already. I am testing their games in a virtual machine (VirtualBox) with Ubuntu 8.04 and wine-1.0-rc2. When I double-click on the icon for the game, it thinks for a minute like it was trying to launch but then

Can someone help me to get this sim to run? It almost works but when select the "fly now option", it doesn't show the 3d window. The previous museum window is in the upper left corner but no 3d window. I can hear the sounds and seem to have joystick control. I have it set to OpenGL mode in the ini file. Excel Export in a beauty way
Hallo all, I`ve read a lot of things in this forum about an Excel export via R. It is no problem to export my data frames via write.table or write.xls (xls or csv), but some things are not very convenient for me: I always have to adjust the column with to see all the numbers or the text and there is no frame between the cells. And I missing the possibility to make some headers bold or coloured.

Differing Win & Linux user names
First off I'll admit that I'm a bit of a newbie to Samba and Linux so sorry if this is a dumb question, but I had a look and couldn't find the answer anywhere. How do I map a username on a Windows 98 box to a different username on a Linux box? For example, if my username on a Windows machine was 'Daniel Foster' and my username on the linux box was 'dan' how do I make

Patch to handle MapQuest icon size and icon anchor parameters
This is a patch we had to implement to use custom icons in mapquest. We needed to use a custom icon size and offset, so I added a small bit of code to handle this. We use MapQuest API v5.3. That may make this not work in all cases, I know the icon stuff changed somewhat between 5.2&5.3. To make work on MapQuests 5.2 API, I *think* would only take the following conversions. 1) MapIcon

Unable to add machine
Hi All, I have a setup using tdbsam as a backend, I can add accounts using pdbedit -a <username> but I have only been able to add one machine account. I can't figure out why. # pdbedit -a -m test tdb_update_sam: SAM_ACCOUNT (test$) with no RID! Unable to add machine! (does it already exist?) I have verified that there is no entry in /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow for the machine name I

Model building ...
Hi Are there any functions that de-convolute data into a given number of clusters, rather like the NPMLE GLIM macros from Murray Aitkin and Brian Francis? Basically I would like to code into R the same approach but include the possiblility of some data being censored. In principle the formulae are the same (just replace the likelihood function) but I haven't managed to get my head round the

RE: Venables & Ripley 3rd edition
I have in my inbox a note saying books are expected in early August. However, for R users there is relatively little advantage in the third edition, except that almost everything works unchanged. The real advantages of the third edition are for users of S-PLUS 5.x and 4.5/2000. > From: Marc R. Feldesman > To: guido at hal.stat.unipd.it; 'Guido Masarotto '; 'Maria Wolters '
