Recover botched drdb gfs2 setup .
Hi.
The short story... Rush job, never done clustered file systems before,
vlan didn't support multicast. Thus I ended up with drbd working ok
between the two servers but cman / gfs2 not working, resulting in what
was meant to be a drbd primary/primary cluster being a primary/secondary
cluster until the vlan could be fixed with gfs only mounted on the one
server. I got the single server

DRBD,GFS2 and GNBD without all clustered cman stuff
Hi all,
Where i want to arrive:
1) having two storage server replicating partition with DRBD
2) exporting via GNBD from the primary server the drbd with GFS2
3) inporting the GNBD on some nodes and mount it with GFS2
Assuming no logical error are done in the last points logic this is the
situation:
Server 1: LogVol09, DRDB configured as /dev/drbd0 replicated to Server 2.
DRBD seems to work

HVM Support
Greetings,
I have recently built two machines both with Intel VT technology CPU''s
but when I try to create a hvm guest I get an error that the host
doesn''t support it.
Is there a compatibility guide I can consult on whether perhaps my
motherboards are either not compliant or perhaps need a bios or jumper
setting adjusted to enable hardware virtualization support?

remote hot site, IMAP replication or cluster over WAN
Taking a survey.
1. How many of you have a remote site hot backup Dovecot IMAP server?
2. How are you replicating mailbox data to the hot backup system?
A. rsync
B. DRBD+GFS2

Best Cluster Storage
Hi Everyone,
I wish to create a Postfix/Dovecot active-active cluster (each node will
run Postfix *and* Dovecot), which will obviously have to use central
storage. I'm looking for ideas to see what's the best out there. All of
this will be running on multiple Xen hosts, however I don't think that
matters as long as I make sure that the cluster nodes are on different

Network Stops when network-bridge starts
My local Dom(0) network stops working as soon as network-bridge is
started. I''m running centos 5.3 and installed xen from repository via
yum. I have a LinkSys 10/100/1000 PCI card in my machine. Driving me
crazy! Any ideas? I''ve stumbled upon a couple possibles regarding
using ethtool which seems to then render my bridge unusable. Any help
appreciated for someone

KVM HA
Hi,
I have two KVM hosts (CentOS 7) and would like them to operate as High Availability servers,
automatically migrating guests when one of the hosts goes down.
My question is: Is this even possible? All the documentation for HA that I've found appears to not
do this. Am I missing something?
My configuration so fare includes:
* SAN Storage Volumes for raw device mappings for guest vms

Thoughts on storage infrastructure for small scale HA virtual machine deployments
Hi,
up until now I've always deployed VMs with their storage located directly
on the host system but as the number of VMs grows and the hardware becomes
more powerful and can handle more virtual machines I'm concerned about a
failure of the host taking down too many VMs in one go.
As a result I'm now looking at moving to an infrastructure that uses shared
storage instead so I can

mmap in GFS2 on rhel 6.1
Hello list, we continue our tests using Dovecot on a RHEL 6.1 Cluster
Backend with GFS2, also we are using dovecot as a Director for user node
persistence, everything was ok until we started stress testing the solution
with imaptest, we had many deadlocks, cluster filesystems corruptions and
hangs, specially in index filesystem, we have configured the backend as if
they were on a NFS like setup

Samba/GPFS/GlusterFS
Hello,
sorry for this little OT post.
In my company, we have 2
distant facilities, with people at each facility working on the same
files.
The 2 facilities are connected through MPLS with about
10MBytes/s BW.
Saving the work files to servers located at one or the
other facility has became a pain for the people accessing the files from
the remote site.
Trying to improve files

Is Dovecot Director stable for production??
Today I will try Dovecot Director for a setup using a Cluster Backend with
GFS2 on rhel5, my question is if is Director stable for use in production
for large sites, I know is mainly designed for NFS but I believe it will do
the job also for a cluster filesystem like GFS2 and should solve the mail
persistence problem with a node and locking issues.
I plan to add a layer behind a load balancer to

Centos 5.2 ,5.3 and GFS2
Hello,
I will create a Xen cluster and using GFS2 (with conga, ...) to create
a new Xen cluster.
I know that GFS2 is prod ready since RHEL 5.3.
Do you know whent Centos 5.3 will be ready ?
Can I install my GFS2 FS with centos 5.2 and then "simply" upgrade to
5.3 without reinstallation ?

how to synch multiple servers?
Is there a way to synch multiple servers at once so when one is changed,
samba updates all the other servers at the same time automatically?

I think you are talking about DRBD 8, which is indeed very easy. DRBD 9
on the other hand, which is the one that compares to gluster (more or
less), is a whole other story. Never managed to make it work correctly

FULLTEXT search in MySQL on rails
I tried adding a FULLTEXT search index to a table of mine in MySQL,
only to discover that the InnoDB table format doesn''t seem to support
this feature. Switching to the MyISAM table type seemed to work, but
I seem to have some recollection that ActiveRecord transactions aren''t
fully atomic on MyISAM tables. Is this true or am I just remembering
wrong? If so, does anyone have
