Very cheap IP GSM Gateway: Will this work?
Hi, I'm trying to work out a way to build a really cheap 24 port GSM gateway. Currently this is the best way I've come across: - Purchase 3 GSM-WT208 GSM Gateways with 8 x Analogue / GSM Channels (Off http://www.discountcomms.co.uk/ - Approx. USD $1200) - Purchase 1 RHINO Channel Bank off VoIPSupply.com (approx. $1800 for a 24 FXO channel bank) - Purchase 1 cheapo Intel based PC

Very small office install
A few months ago I discovered *. Recently have taken more interest in it, since I have to install phones into my wife's small office. Hope that my questions weren't discussed recently and are not to dumb. The current requirements for * consist of a single incoming ISDN BRI line (currently have 5 MSN allocated), 3 internal extensions and a single analog fax. 1. I plan to buy some el

DTMF not working on overseas cellphone calls
I thought I sent this earlier this week, but I didn't see it. If I missed it, I apologize for the resend. We are running asterisk 1.2.2 with a TDM04B connected to PSTN lines. On incoming calls from cellphones located overseas, DTMF is not recognized - we have many single-digit choices in our menu so the problem isn't that some digits aren't working, it's not listening at

OT - Chan-mobile -Bluetooth dongle on remote LAN workstation
Hello, On a LAN, is it possible to install a bluetooth dongle on one workstation (at this time, this workstation OS is not specified) and use it with chan_mobile ? I've read some USB over IP (or Ethernet) middleware exist but I'm not certain I'm looking at the right direction. Regards -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... DTMF not recognized on overseas call from cellphone
We have PSTN lines connected to FXO lines of a TDM400B. I just got a complaint that overseas callers who are using cellphones sometimes find that DTMF digits aren't working - they press digits and the menu goes on as if they hadn't pressed anything. Since it sometimes works, and other IVRs work over the same cellphones, it's not that the cellphone isn't sending the digits.

Asterisk and cellphone/GSM voicemailbox
Does Asterisk know when it hits a voicemailbox ? When calling to a cell-phone or GSM, after some rings and no pickup you arrive at a voicemailbox. If Asterisk does not know it's a voicemailbox that has answered the call, the voicemailbox will contain 60minutes of 'silence'. This is very expensive 'silence'. How to avoid this ? How to write data to astdb?
Hello, I'm trying to fill CID data into the astdb using AsteriskWin32's asterisk.exe, to no avail: The batch file stops after the first line, and just waits: ---------------------------------------- rem c:\cygroot\mystuff>import.bat rem rem c:\cygroot\mystuff>C:\cygroot\bin\asterisk.exe -rx 'database put cidname 123 "My cellphone"' rem rem Asterisk module

Using Speex with Cellphone audio
Has anyone had any experience with applying Speex on cellphone audio? If so, I have a few questions: * How has Speex performed with the audio, e.g., amount of loss/intelligibility? * Since cellphones use the typical POTS sampling of 8Kbps, would it help to use a multiple (16,32Kbps) or fractional (12,18,24Kbps) resampling? * At what sampling rate do you think a resampling of 8Kbps would result in

Connecting 1-2 GSM ports to asterisk?
Hi, List, I am looking for a cheapest (and therefore most funny) way to attach GSM card to my asterisk home box. Needed features: Calls+SMS in/out one or two SIM cards (ports) Should I try looking for a GSM PCI card that is compatible with linux/asterisk, or GSM USB card, or modern full-blown SIP GSM gateway (with ethernet)? Maybe an ordinary cell phone with USB interface and mangling with

Connect Asterisk to a cell phone
Hello, Are there any gateways which allow me to hook a cellphone to Asterisk and use that line for routing my calls? Basically, I'm looking to play around a bit and if I can get to connect a cellphone with Asterisk then that would be great. Thanks, Hitesh PS: I have tried to search on the web, but didn't find any pointers on how to do so. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

Sound cards for Centros
What sound cards are recognized by Centros? I have installed it on an old 400MHz IBM Aptiva that has Crystal Audio built-in. However it does not seem to recognize that, nor a Sound Blaster, nor a Sound Blaster 16 that I have tried. Any cheapo cards that it would recognize? Mike

Snom firmwares suck <--additional datapoint to consider
We have a large install of 360's running rev 4.1 with zero problems. I did another, smaller install couple weeks ago with 40 360's running rev 5.3. In both cases, the install was identical, same Asterisk version, same dialplan, everything the same except the differences were: 1. Different firmware rev 2. Different physical LAN Guess what? On the smaller install, lockups and reboots.

TDM400 with FXS some handsets not ringing
Folks, I have a TDM400 with an FXS module. I'm having some trouble ringing some phones attached to the device. I have a real el cheapo handset that cost me about 9UKP. It works fine, I plug it into the Wildcard and call the channel and it rings. I have tried plugging in my BT Diverse 3016 cordless phone but it will not ring, although I can call out from it. I have also tried my GPO 332L

UK CallerID -v- Wildcard W100P
At the risk of being flamed.... Has anyone had any success get the 'El cheapo' Wildcard W100P clone's (?20 flavour) to work with UK Caller ID? I'm not sure what the status of Asterisk 1.6 is with respect to UK caller ID, being that we have an odd method of sending the FSK ahead of the ring, but I'm guessing I can't be the first to ask this? Keeping in mind that cost is

Anyone having any luck with Bluetooth?
I have read all the wiki's and blogs and how to links about Bluetooth but so far no luck. I can confirm that CentOS5 sees my Bluetooth adapter and my cell phone. No Joy on Asterisk 1.4. The information out there is kind of confusing as there is a lot of outdated info sometimes referring to software no longer actively developed. What I think I have managed to conclude is that there is a
