FXS Solutions for modems and other non jitter tolerant devices
In the past we have used Adtran Atlas 550's to break out FXS ports for devices like modems. The great thing about the 550 is that internally it is all TDM so there is absolutely zero latency. We are able to use ATA's for faxes and analog phones but devices that use modems, they fail 99.99% of the time when using an ATA. We tried to migrate to TA908 devices; they have FXS ports built

Asterisk not replacing private FROM ip with public IP in INVITE
Something perhaps noteworth, since this is a multihomed system I bound the transport to 172.31.253.4:5060 I don't *think* that would cause Asterisk to use that IP in the FROM...at least it shouldn't. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of TTT Sent: Wednesday, June 21, 2023 2:58 PM To: 'Asterisk Users Mailing

nmbd multihomed registration request must be directed at a WINS server error
Hi there, I just got a new machine with Redhat Enterprise Workstation and samba 3.0.0-14 pre-installed. I am trying to connect it to my existing network which has a redhat v8 samba v2 PDC controlling 16 or so win2k and winxp machines. In the nmbd log I get this error 3 times every 5 seconds or so: nmbd/nmbd_packets.c:process_nmb_request(1448) process_nmb_request: Multihomed registration

Multihomed AC DC Server and subnets
Hello: I am currently planning to divide our network in smaller subnets. Our central server is a Samba AD DC File Server also acting as DC. My plan is subnet our current network, add a new interface for each subnet in the Samba File Server and configure it to listen in all new interfaces. Questions: 1 - Does this multihomed configuration have any drawback, specifically because AD relies

NAT & tc filter addresses
Is there a flow diagram as to where tc actions take place with respect to NAT and other iptables functions on a multihomed box (private & public NICs) ? Are tc filter rules consulted before or after NATing? My real interest is in basic understanding first, and then solving a real problem second. Example: Firewall Public NIC 123.123.123.1 Firewall Private NIC 192.168.168.1 Dedicated Video

Multihomed question: want Lustre over IB andEthernet
Chris, Perhaps you need to perform some write_conf like command. I''m not sure if this is needed in 1.6 or not. Web Filter
I have a location using a CentOS 5 server that's multihomed running Asterisk and iptables for internal web access. Recently some sales people got busted surfing some explicit content so the owner wants something in there to block this. I had heard of Dans Guardian and am reading about what's involved here but just wanted an opinion on what's the best solution for this. NTLM silent

IPSec tunnel and routing
Hello. I wonder how just correct couple of spdadd commands like spdadd 192.168.1.0/24 192.168.2.0/24 any -P out ipsec esp/tunnel/10.1.0.1-10.2.0.1/require; spdadd 192.168.2.0/24 192.168.1.0/24 any -P in ipsec esp/tunnel/10.2.0.1-10.1.0.1/require; makes _routing_ of packets from 192.168.1/24 into 192.168.2/24. If I understand correctly how it works on *BSD, these commands with make already

multi-homed samba PDC and NetApp filers
We are having a problem getting a NetApp filer to re-join a samba domain after a move to a new network. The filer worked fine with samba before the move. Apologies in advance for the long missive. I've tried the following: - re-running the CIFS setup program on the filer - removing the problem filer's samba account, replacing it, and re-running the setup program on the filer

Budgetone 101 phones ? SIP through NAT ?
I'm new to VOIP. We are thinking of setting up a VOIP system between a couple remote offices. I've been lurking on this group for a while. What is the consensus on these phones: http://www.netvoice.ca/grandstream/budgetone101.htm I'm confused about the SIP protocol... can a SIP phone be located behind a NATing firewall ? When people use asterisk on a broadband connection used

Multihomed DHCP and PXE?

SPA941
Hi all, I'm new to this list, so forgive me if I'm not supposed to ask this: I currently own a Linksys SPA941 SIP phone with 5.1.8 firmware. Is there any way to use TLS with this phone<--->asterisk (v 1.6.0.9)? It is said that is supports TLS/SRTP but I don't see any of these options in the configuration file or the admin (advanced) SIP conf panel. Am I missing something? Thnx
