[PATCH v15 16/16] unfair qspinlock: a queue based unfair lock
For a virtual guest with the qspinlock patch, a simple unfair byte lock will be used if PV spinlock is not configured in or the hypervisor isn't either KVM or Xen. The byte lock works fine with small guest of just a few vCPUs. On a much larger guest, however, byte lock can have serious performance problem. ssh_prng_cmds on Solaris
Hi, I'm trying to build an openssh pkgadd package which is portable across Solaris 2.6,7 & 8, so I can't rely on /dev/random support and must instead fall back to ssh_prng_cmds for collecting entropy. One of the default commands in ssh_prng_cmds "arp -a -n" is a problem for any (2.6, at least) host which doesn't have an efficient/working DNS or other name resolution

disabling automatic indexing in acts_as_ferret
I''d like to be able to enable/disable the automatic indexing of documents acts_as_ferret does. Something like MyModel.disable_indexing MyModel.enable_indexing would be perfect. I need this because I do some indexing that requires visiting the parents of the model objects and my import method imports the children first, so the information isn''t there yet. I''d like to

At this level of charge, our kernel also triggers a shutdown (CPU and UPS). I saw (in the doc found here : tools.*mge*ops.net/download/intl/products/*ellipse*-asr/28-umeasr_08.pdf) that this

X100P and NTL (ex Cable + Wireless)
Firstly, let me just say I am new to asterisk and if anything I've said is covered in an FAQ or in previous posts I apologise but I have tried searching and I've attempted a few of the things I found but they didn't help. Has anybody got any experience using an X100P on an NTL phone line in the UK (I'm in an ex Cable & Wireless area if that makes any difference). The

Automatic configuration of direct routes behind NAT
Hi, I've followed the guide at: http://blogs.operationaldynamics.com/andrew/software/research/using-tinc-vpn and have a working tinc VPN. Here's my topology: - CentralNode has a fixed public IP address that everyone connects to - Leaf1 and Leaf2 may have different IP addresses depending on where they are, and usually those will be behind NAT (think, two laptops going around and you get

mail_filter and mail_filter_out broken somewhere between 2.2.27 and 2.3.4, problem still exists in git
Hi Dovecot folks, I recently reported this bug in Debian (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=939442) after a stretch -> buster upgrade, however since I can reproduce it using the latest 2.4 from git I thought perhaps I ought to take it straight upstream. Here's the text I provided Debian about the issue, and below that I've included a syslog snip showing the same issue

winbind seems to hang when the DC goes down instead of switching to the other available DC
This is strange and should not happen. Verify if all DC's are also available as NS record in the DNS on the zones. Startup the DNS tool. Goto you primary dnszone ( and repeat for all other zones ) Do you see all your DC's as NS record in the zone, then its ok, if not.. Klik and Properties on the zone, goto Tab "Nameservers", add the other dc's. You can also try
