64 bit compilation SUSE 10.2
Greetings All, I am attempting to compile wine under the SUSE 10.2 64 bit distribution, and am running into a bit of a problem. I have installed every 32 bit library that I could find in the distro, including the xorg-X11 libs. I ran the following commands: ./configure --prefix=/usr --x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib make depend && make The compilation chugs away for about 15 min,

pattern search
hi, I like to find a pattern within a giver sequence. There might be multiple occurences of the pattern. I like to know the number of occurences and the positions if possible. "grep" can tell me if a pattern exists but can't give me the information I need. Does anyone know any function that I can use or know how to do what I intend?. Thanks a lot. Sean

I'm trying to change the resolution and drives in Wine, but for some strange reason, every changes I make in the ~/.wine/config file are not reflecting in wine. Xen4CentOS python-virtinst version issue, blktap2 problem
Hello, It seems currently when you "yum update" CentOS 6.6 Xen host you end up getting python-virtinst from c6 base repo: python-virtinst-0.600.0-24.el6.noarch and not from Xen4CentOS repo, because the version there is "older": 0.600.0-19. .. which means the centos/xen-specific patch in python-virtinst is "lost". (default to tap2 instead of tap1, to make blktap2

Recommended Packages document
Fresh install of Debian Etch. Before I install wine (from winehq), I'd like to double check something about the following document. I've only included the portion refering to Debian. http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages The document was last edited 2007-10-07 15:26:02. My question is about the last comment about freeglut3-dev. Still required or not, would there be any problems if I

Three simple problems with wine under SuSe 9.3
I have three problems with wine. Wine set up a pseudo windows directory system under my home directory/wine. My application resides in the created 'Program Files' directory and a necessary file placed in the windows/system directory. 1. If I click on the exe and run with wine it works without error. However I seem unable to set up a path to the exe as in 'wine "drive_c/Program

Europa Universalis 2 crash (Ubuntu 8.04 Wine 1.1.10)
According to the AppDB EU2 1.09 has a platinum rating, but it's constantly crashing on me. I installed the game from the CD, updated to the latest version (1.09), and the game launches just fine. When it gets into the menu I notice that it's running a lot slower than it should be. I can start a single player game and it still runs slow, and then crashes. It doesn't matter what I do in

Care to share an R presentation?
The R movement is picking up steam in the center of America. People that ignored my R-enthusiasm 10 years ago are now calling me up asking for presentations. I need to make a 2 hour presentation to a collection of faculty and grad students who might like to use R. I don't want to make it seem too complicated (as I often do), but I don't want to mislead them to think it will be easy. I
